Hey everyone, I've really annoying Internet connectivity issues on my onex, half of the time it's connected to the mobile network showing the "H" sign on top and the rest of the time it's showing the "3G" icon.
Now my issue is that while it's on the 3g the internet just stops - while playing it disconnects, on the browser it just loading forever, and on programs it get stuck.. while on the H everything is going fine!
I am living in Israel and worked with partner and now changed to "Pelephone" which should have the fastest/best mobile network, and it made no change. I also tried according to.an advice i got here to change my phone on settings to "wcdma only" and still no change.
Please, if anyone has any.idea about this problem and a solution i would be greatful.
Oren.
By the way i am on stock rom, rooted.

I'm pretty new to Android, but out of curiosity I flashed CyanogenMod 6.1.3 a few days ago and all went well, but I've just noticed that I'm unable to get a 3G connection. All widgets/settings show that 3G & mobile data is turned on, but there's no indicator in the notification bar and no browsers can connect to the internet. I can still get a WiFi connection. Any ideas why this is happening, and how I can fix it?
Thanks for reading.
Check your apn settings, you may have to enter them manually

Tried that, used settings straight from the T-Mobile website.
It is definitely something to do with your APN setup, something isn't right.
Been flashing the DHD for about a year now and never had a problem with it.
S-OFF ENG etc, running MDJ's 3.1.1 ROM.
Not flashed the phone for a week or so but as of this afternoon my mobile network just sits at "Turning on.."
Will not connect data.
Wireless OK. just no data.
Ive not messed, installed, uninstalled anything for a while and this morning it was working ok.
Anyone got any ideas ?
+1. Same here. Was working fine, then I noticed the data icon was missing.
Have tried different roms, radios, etc. But no joy.
Any help, gratefully received on this matter.
Just out of interest, what network are you on?
Edit. Definitely something wrong with Orange. Unable to connect to my account with the Orange app.

+1 same stock 2.2.1 with orange. No data

I have had the same problem, but had related it to a dodgy data import from MyBackupPro as it was working and then wasn't. Nothing I did would bring it back apart from a factory reset. I didn't reload the data and it's been OK so far but it could be a similar problem.
I am on stock Gingerbread.
Just flashed a new ROM, problem solved. Couldn't be bothered waiting months no doubt for orange to update to 2.3 and put all their crapware on it.

?
by saying no data you mean in 3g networks?
Yeah 3g

see if you stuck NPC data in the phone company
I’ve experienced this too when I was in some areas, it happened in place you’ve been before and used 3g?
In my country whenever I go to the beach I lose 3g network and it keeps trying to connect...
Probably you know it, but...
If you use widget to turn on/off your data, and if you changed ROM from older to Gingerbread, it seems that this doesn't work. It is partially true- widget doesn't work anymore, but you can still turn on/ off your data from upper dock -> quick settings -> cellular network data (or something similar )
Me too, and I'm running stock 2.3.3 on Vodafone UK. No icon by signal strength bars, although apparently signal strength at -75dBm.
I can force it into 2G by selecting GSM only and the icon comes back, but not so for WCDMA only.
Also noticed in Quick settings from pull down notification bar that 'Mobile Network' is always 'Turning on...' and won't toggle.
Any ideas?
Hey all, I have the T-MO and I am having a hard time getting connected to the network. I would like to post my status to see if this is a carrier problem or my phone problem.
Network: T-Mo
Signal strenght -87 dBm 13asu
Mobile Network type. keeps changing from UMTS to HSPA
Service: In Service
Mobile Network state: keeps changing from Connecting and disconnected.
I have rebooted the phone a few times, I am running
Android ver 2.3.6
Kernel 2.6.35.14-SGH-T989
Mod Version Juggernaut -v5.0
Any and all information will be greatly appreciated.
Ciao~
Brad
My phone is doing the same too. I don't think its a phone issue since my bro has a unrooted Mytouch 4g and he does not have internet on his phone either.
I am in San Diego. Where are you located at?
Same here, in San Diego.
My internet just came back up, Tmo must had a small outage.

Well that was the first thing I tried, turning data on and off, Airplane mode, Even a reboot. No Dice this time.
Things looks like its back to normal for me. I don't know about the others tho. They never said anything yet.
Hey guys, I have a problem in my HOX. I am using Digi iPhone plan on my HOX
I am using GSM most of the times (just to receive whatsapp msg), and WCDMA sometimes for web browsing
However, lately I found out a problem which is the phone shows the right network icon but no network data going through my phone. I used an app called "Network Signal Info" to check on it...and it shows there is no data connectivity...and I have to restart the phone to make thing works again...
Any idea on what is happening?
Hi, is anyone else having poor wifi connectivity on your M8?
My wifi signal will drop completely after a period of time. Conducted speed test and speed turned out to be much lower as compared to my Nexus 5 on the same wifi network, and somehow websites/apps take ages to load via Wifi.
Am on 1.54.707.7 (International) by the way.
Found a video that perfectly describes my problem. :silly:
Yes I'm having the same issue. tried turning off the power saving mode. what kind of works sometimes is if I turn off my mobile data off. I also heard that you Wi-Fi password needs to be 9 characters or else, seems like too much of a hassle. I haven't tried changing the password.

Finally someone who is in the same plight as I am! Haha yes I've tried that too, apparently the signal that the M8 is capable of receiving is weaker than other phones, have a friend who tried on a G2, an M8 and an Oppo Find 7a. The 7a had full bars for WiFi, 1 bar for G2 and the M8 couldn't even connect. :crying:
And about that 9 characters for password myth, yeah have heard about it too! Just counting that out as I don't see any impact it has on the WiFi connectivity though.
possible fix

noticed the same thing but i dont lose connectivity the thing is wireless is really good but the signal bars play alot and jumps but if i go a bit far from the router eg in the kitchen where most my phones couldnt get wireless connection i still get it with the m8
Have flashed back to sense to try something so tested once I saw this thread.
Am on 1.54.401.9 and still get the speeds below in my sig with everything set to default and no 'other' kernels installed etc
Ranges from 70mb to 108. (International / UK )
What seems to be working for me so far is I went into my advance Wi-Fi settings and change the frequency from auto to 2.4GHz only instead of auto. I haven't had any issues so far let me know if that helps

I've left mine on auto but connect to 5ghz. (both 2.4 and 5ghz available from router) and again get top speeds.
I don't have any problem at wifi connectivity.

Hi, that worked perfectly for my M8 and my wife's M7. We had big trouble on 2.4 Ghz Networks. After long and disappointing tests for trouble shooting I found this post. And it works. Thanks alot.
am too facing the same problem, wifi keeps dropping consistently.. this happens on each and every sense rom... even on the stock rom.
did a factory reset, but no luck.. also tried turning off and on the wifi optimization in settings-wifi-advanced & changed the wifi frequency band to auto, 5 ghz & 2.4 ghz, but no luck. like it means dropping 12-15 times in 10 minutes. the power saver is also off. wifi in aosp and gpe roms works fine. any suggestions? (firmware is up to date)
Was it due to full metal body? Wifi is worse than my old Butterfly 1
