Hi all,
I flashed the unofficial AOKP on my E4GT built by ktempleton here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2116816 but 4G doesn't work anymore. I'm using the FL24 radio from ICS as the radio section says JB radios will only work with TW ROM. I can enable 4G in settings but it finds no networks to connect to whereas with stock ROM (ICS) I get 3-4 bars at the house. Here's my logcat:
http://pastebin.com/9qaRkZXy
http://pastebin.com/MNDLXMmR
(too big for free pastebin so split into 2)
Can any one shed some light as to why it doesn't work and what I should do to fix it?
From my understanding don't even bother trying to use 4g on AOKP. Same speeds as 3g.

Yeah, any kernel other than stock will Bork 4g speeds on the phone.

yea which CM are you running? I see that you're running PacMAN, are you just running the latest build of that? What modem version are you using?

ICS 4.0.3 aosp from source build had 4g scanning on Nexus S is it good news for us? Regarding 4g?
I don't think it helps much. What we could use is a leaked Ics build for et4g.

Yes, the NS4G is Sammy. Sprint has ICS running on 4g on this phone so I really hope we aren't far behind because this smashes all of those previous ported builds out of the water. I am not changing this now that I have my ICS 4Geeeeee!!!!!!

My current understanding is that the E4GT uses a different Wimax chip from the NS4G which means that drivers are incompatible. Someone would need to write there own, ala TeamWin and the Evo.

The drivers are open source, they are in the kernel. The libraries and what not isn't open.

Hi John, I meant compared to E4GT how is is, stronger? I am NJ-NY area and inside my apt 4g is somewhat weak, but as soon as I am outside my building its fantastic. I am asking because I can get a 2 months used NS4G in 200 and since not sure how long will it take on E4GT and even after we get it how will it perform regarding data, I thought I will try it out and can keep switching between them...Also every updates coming will be available to Nexus first so.
Looks like there's a good chance we could compile with wimax now.

I just recently started using CM7 on my E4T. I have a problem where, when I am charging my phone when it's shut off it boots right back up. I believe this has to do with the kernel. Are there any kernels available for AOSP?

No
That is the only one you can put it on airplane mode

Sorry to say, but there aren't yet any AOSP kernels outside of what's provided with CM7. Most kernel devs are catering to those [aesthetically frightening] TouchWiz ModROMs.
That's scary that only a few ppl are working on aosp. Especially I don't see ics being worked on much

Really? Didn't kno this.
would it be possible to port an aosp kernel for the I777 to the E4GT seeing as they are very similar? I kno that the International version's kernel was ported to the I777 for ICS, but the big problem was the button routing.
no we are not GSM.

Touchwiz Jellybean modems don't work on AOSP Roms. I'd recommend FI27 while on AOSP...you can find it in the Rwilco repository. As for the 1x on TW Roms, I think that might just be due to a low signal area, but you could try updating the PRL and Profile in the settings and it might help
I'm currently running Slim bean and I've tried a few different ones but I haven't been able to get any to work? Anyone know of any tether apps that might work with certain settings?

I believe that only gives 3G.
Hey there, noon here. I've looked all over the place, and I can't find a fix for not having 3g in Codename ROM 4.1.2. Any suggestions? Flash a new modem, or what?
If you have a jelly bran modem then thats your issue. You need an ics modem on any aosp rom.

Modems wouldn't mess up 4g... This sounds like another issue...

Read the title. Unless he is in an area without wimax 4g or an area it is discontinued.
