Hey guys - Anyone know of any Decent facebook client replacements?
Not so worried about facebook Messenger but the facebook client itself causes too many hangs/reboots lately.
Giving TweetDeck a go but it doesn't display posts like I'd like/more like the official client.
Thanks in advance

AW: Facebook Replacements
Google+?? Though I have to admit, its UI is basically the same but magically it blocks all unneeded, unnecessary and stupid posts almost instantly!
Sorry

Didn't know where to put this. I hope this is the right place.
Just an FYI. The XDA Site is crashing my Safari 4.1.3. I'm using an iMac G5 on OS X 10.4.11.
I have been surfing the site for a while now and just lately this has been occurring. Today is the worst. So bad the thought occurred to me that someone here may want to know.
Thanks!
10 June 2012:
I used an iPad at someone else's house today to try to access this site and it crashed Safari on it.
The ads on the xda developers website are a big problem, you cant get on it with a mobile browser it forwards to an AD page...

not using it...
I was having a similar issue on my iPad (running 4.2.1), until I disabled JavaScript. Might give it a try on your end to see if it helps.
I figured it out.
I flushed my cookies and it worked
It seems to be caused by the setting the display mode to hybrid.
Any recommendations for Twitter apps?
I use tweakdeck on my Galaxy Nexus and used Tweetcaster on my Transformer Prime, but I am trying to get used to this form factor!
Cheers

i use twicca. same as i use on my phone. it scales well enough. and is a simple black interface. it's small and simple.
Tweet Lanes here.

Twicca with the white theme. Very pleasant surprise considering how hit and miss twitter clients can be.

Also using Tweet Lanes
Plume. The landscape columns are perfect for me concerning list management. Only reason I haven't looked for another Twitter client with decent tablet features.

Official Twitter, despite having no tablet UI.
I'm very particular about twitter clients, I would be using Twica if it would show replies to somebody's tweet - which it doesn't. And a bunch of other clients don't show trending topics or look downright ugly.
Thanks for the replies, I am trying out TweetLanes!

Glad I saw this thread +1 for tweetlanes! Have been using plume for a while, but really digging the ui of tweetlanes.
I'm using the normal twitter app, do notifications work on any ICS or JB rom?

Plume ...
good old faithful. 3 column Tablet mode in landscape.

TweetCaster Pro on my Galaxy Nexus had that functionality and I can't get it on the tablet. If I'm missing something please let me know.
I really wish there were more choices with TweetMarker support besides just that and Plume. Tweetbot is by far the iOS app I miss most on Android, I only hope something can compare eventually.

Scope, use it for tumblr and twitter.
Is there a Twitter client which synchronises your position in your timeline over multiple devices? For example, if I check my timeline on my phone I then have to remember how far I got when I later check it on my N7, and then repeat back and forth every time I use the other device.
Oh wow, nice - I missed that he updated his app for the N7!
Haven't tried it on my N7 but I like Ubersocial on my phone.

You're looking for TweetMarker support and so far your only two options are TweetCaster and Plume. Note that it has to be enabled in settings on both devices before it'll work.

Currently using the official app and Scope if I want to share on Facebook at the same time too.

I'd been using Plume for a while on my Desire and never come across this functionality. Have just added Plume to my N7 and it works a treat. Thanks
As today Facebook app got a new update but I still feel that it's not quite good enough because of very slow speed, old UX& ... (as the app always was)
I'd like to know which app you use for Facebook recently.
I've tried Scope beta for few weeks, love the idea but still buggy and slow.
Thanks for sharing guys!

Same.. I haven't had an issue with it for ages.. It does what it's supposed to do.
I just go to facebook.com, looks just like PC version that way.
Facebook app is fine its smooth and fast no lag for me whatsoever
It takes 10-20 seconds of a black screen before it loads, but after that it works fine.
The problem i have is with its widget, i sometimes get a blank widget or it doesnt update.
Anyone with those issues??
I use flipboard for facebook, I really like the magazine format.
What's up with the Facebook website and Android? The input fields don't allow your dictionary to work and gets all screwy trying to type and backspace. It does this on any browser I've tried.
I just use Android Pro Widgets to use the Facebook and Twitter widgets for feeds, and click through to Facebook occasionally for notifications and IMs. I don't need instant notification about anything related to Facebook.

No issues here with the Facebook app. Loads in less than 2 seconds. Now on my phones it is a different story. They haven't ran it right in a year or so.
No problems here, more speed is needed with all apps to support Nexus 7 Quadcore CPU

There is a reason Facebook is working on a native app for Android and already did for iOS. Our current app is an HTML5 based slow piece of trash..,

I deleted facebook app ,using default cm10 browser is much faster..on a 20mbt internet i wait for 4-5 seconds and more for a 50kb picture to show, that app after 1000 updates is still bad joke.I left app only on my phone because of push notificafions but i dont use it.

Friend caster is pretty nice. Dual panel layout and everything. One problem with the official Facebook app is that it took so long for it to start up like 20 seconds for a black screen then another ten on the splash screen. Completely ridiculous. I heard they forced their employees to use android phones instead of I phones just to make them feel the crap they made for android.

Above and also android pro widgets is really good for faceache, twitter, calendar, and lots more all in one app.
Optinostical
I don't use the official Facebook either, takes up way to much space and the amount of permissions it requires are crazy! So third-party applications seem to be best for the space issue. However it all depends on your personal taste. FBtouch is a personal favourite of my mine, however I think it's being pulled already.... Can't seem to track it down again.
check this topic http://techdeville.com/2012/09/21/5-of-the-best-facebook-android-apps/
'Scope' is a new app for facebook, twitter and few other social networks. Seems to be a nice app.
developer says it's still in beta. So there maybe some bugs. I didn't try it out myself.
Here is the play store link.

Try Facebook JDB! It looks better and does everything I've ever wanted. Free, no ads, who cares if it isn't MS?

Wrong dude, I have it installed NO adverts! They were removed in an earlier version ( 'paid' version has been free for some time).
What features are missing that make iOS and 'droid better? Isn't this the issue?

I see. Well i have a droid and its way faster, smoother, pics open instantly, notifications (don't work on wm), photo tagging, sharing, fb messenger, etc. There's really no comparison. But, you're right it's the best for our phone
Edit: please check your pm

Toast and tile notifications work, tag and share, fb messenger is inbuilt in OS so why add to app?
