Hey
After a few days of random rebooting, my Gnex wouldnt boot. It was just stuck on the "Google" screen.
So i decided to flash a clean image, but it only got to flash the first part. Cant remember what its called, but it said success in the toolkit(i know, i know). Then it just stopped, and the screen on the phone, the sceen had lots of spots in different colors, and only had a little text in the bottom. Not in the top as normal, so it must have stoped during a operation right.
But now it doesnt turn on. I get the OMAP4440 in device manager when i connect it to the computer, and i think my only hope is to do a OMAP Flash. But i cant find one for OMAP4440. I found one, but after i ran it, i noticed it was for 4460. I ran it again to see if the phone had gotten worse, but the OMAP Flash still catches it.
Anyone got a link for a OMAP Flash for 4440, so i can try with the right one?
Thanks

That one says 4430
Nexus isn't TI OMAP 4460?
Sent from my LG-F160K using xda app-developers app
It briefly appears in device manager as 4440. So that's what it is right?
Maybe you flashed another thing from OMAP4440 to your device. As I don't have the device,is hard to help.

I cant have used anything wrong to begin with. I went from a unstable device, to a non booting. Just stuck at boot. I had fastboot and ran a toolkit to reinstall a clean image(was on there allready).
I have used the exact same toolkit before without problems. But this time, it just stopped with all those vierd colors on the screen.
The OMAP 4460 actually seems to run as it should. I see no errors. But the phone is still as dead as before.
Any suggestions before i smash the damn thing with a hammer?

This sucks. I'm out of warranty. The service center people are quoting $160 to fix it. I can buy the whole phone from eBay with that much money!

This only happens when I'm trying to type a text message or play a game that requires the use of a touch pad (like zenonia 3 and 4). The touch screen just refuses to respond properly and is causing me to be annoyed. Anyone know how to resolve this issue so I don't have to go back to Verizon and get a replacement?
NOTE: I've already tried to pull out the battery, format the phone, and the sd card. None of them worked.

On aosp roms I had the same issue.. just randomly would not respond. My soft keys would still and anything but the keyboard.. I don't know why. What I would do is turn my screen off and back on and it would start normal again.. then I just went back to sense and no issues

Ok, then I think it's probably an issue with the digitizer. I would take it to Verizon and see if you can get a replacement.

I was afraid you would probably say that, but I'm probably gonna do that around march or april. Unrooting my phone is gonna be a pain and redoing the process over, but I have little choice in the matter. Thanks.

Hello,
Today when I restarted my phone, it got stuck on the "Goodbye" screen for longer than normal, then flashed the camera 3 times before shutting off. What is going on? Anyone have a similar issue? I am on stock, rooted.
Thanks

Is it really worth it to replace my phone for this? It has only happened once over 5 months. How much did it happen to you? Does it signal something wrong with the phone if it has just happened once?
If it doesn't mean that something is wrong with my phone, I wouldn't really want to go through the hassle of a return :\

My phone flashes once (quickly) when it shuts off with no battery. It doesn't happen to me anytime I shut it off or restart it.
Yes, I too hard bricked my t999 but funny thing is I've didn't flash any roms. Here's what happened, I was already on Wicked V5 rom, I went to the galaxys3root.com and downloaded MIUI for Tmobile gs3. When I tried to restart my phone to recovery mode the phone just turned off and never turn on again. Someone please help me. I don't really have time to send my phone to Texas, does anyone know any other ways to fix this? Is there service around NJ or Philly area?
Have you done all the usual? Pull battery wait a few put it back in and try to get into recovery or download mode?

so it seems that the common issue here is that u both downloaded MIUI from the same wepage... I would think a malicious download... and in all Honesty I had bad experiences the guy's tut.... (with the guy running the site) I dunno I dont want to point finger or nothing but 2 people with same problem?? I suspect treachery afoot... lol
scratch that... I scanned MIUI Zip file and it contained no threats... so I'm guessing a hardware mulfuction?? or simply u got a bad phone.
Try Samsung warranty since you can't get into download mode they shouldn't know it's rooted. I wouldn't say this is a user error since you didn't even flash a rom

Dont you have regular tmobile warranty? the phone wont power on, no water damage, sounds like a clear cut case of getting your phone swapped out for you.
I just bricked my S3 and whenever I plug it in, eventually, some combination of button presses makes a red LED show up, however, no screen on. Whats even weirder is that when I plug it in, it see's some thing called QHSUSB_DLOAD, and attempts to install drivers for it. I'm wondering if this might allow me to fix it? If all else fails, can someone refer me to a JTAG repair service...
Edit - When I attempt DL mode, I can even hear it disconnect, then reconnect. It fails the driver install though.

All I did was brought it into the store, handed it to the guy and said it was broken. Said I had a FACTORY warranty (from Samsung), and that Samsung told me to have the store do the replacement for me. The guy behind the desk said, "Yeah, whatever you stick your SIM into, as long as it's T-
Mobile, your covered. You can even buy phones offline,". It's going to be here monday. Shipped Friday, next day shipping, only 5$. I'm so happy I'm not paying 70$ for a JTAG... Not sure if this'll work for everyone, but it did for me!
I will try to make this as short as possible. I got my vzw galaxy nexus used on eBay 3 months ago. I loved it like it was my second child. A week ago I noticed the radio was not showing a signal or a very weak one, sometimes but it always worked. Until last night, It wouldn't register a signal so I rebooted it. It started to boot loop, never getting past the nexus logo. It was unlocked, rooted, but running stock jdq39. I left the battery out for an hour and it did boot to the lock screen. I would unlock then it would reboot again by itself. I then went down the road of trying to flash stock images, radios, and even cm10. All the stock images failed on flashing CDMA-radio. Cm10 came up but it started boot looping again, baseband was unknown as well as other info under status. As a last resort I tried to Odin 4.0.2 it failed at the very end trying to write (wait for it) CDMA-radio. Now it only boots to a yellow triangle with a phone and computer image on either side. I an not missing anything stupid right? The CDMA radio must be toast.

Probably. Fastboot also fails?
a maguro wrote this.
It certainly sounds like a part of the hardware in the radio has been going bad. Is there any warranty left on it? Not sure if they're transferable since you bought it on eBay, but it's worth a shot to at least ask, either at your store or Samsung. The only other random things you might try is taking the LTE sim out and if you have access a different battery? Since it's failing on CDMA, the sim shouldn't have any effect, but since it's dead, it's worth a shot. Same for the battery. But yeah, sounds dead.

Yeah I can't even get into the boot loader anymore. So adb and fast boot don't work, but Odin still connects and can flash, just gets stuck at the cdma-radio.

Thanks! It was absolutely the cdma radio that died. The replacement came with CM10.1 RC4 but decided to flash it back to jdq39 stock. It flashed without problem using the same USB cable, computer and drivers. It seemed like hours when I flashed the cdma radio but in reality it only took a few minutes, but was very relived when it finished successfully. I figure I am just going to keep the other parts in case I need them.
