pls help here don´t get it have video pls
Do this: Copy the location of you adb.exe
Open up command prompt
cd [location]
adb reboot bootloader
You need to access the adb via the command prompt, not just open it.
look pls my cmd
where can´t find it
pls can help team viewer
you are not doing it right. once you have downloaded the android skd you need to open the file and go all the way to \Android\android-sdk\platform-tools. then go to the top of the page in the toolbar, and copy the address. then go to the command prompt and the type cd (followed by the location you have just copied) then type adb shell
then type adb reboot bootloader. that should do it.
or! just use this app allowing you have root

this might not end well. has the hardware method ever worked for you? because if adb doesnt recognise the device your stuffed i think :/ are you s-off and stuff?
100% worked before i used with 3 costum rom via rom manager
but last was this **** rom icyfire hang on android logo always
now phone is off red light is on charge but not connecte to desktop
Sounds more like offmode charging bug to me, pop out the battery then replace and try to power on the phone. If it works go back to recovery and flash a new rom or a backup.
Then post here if it works and someone will help you fix it.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium
yes think so
no connect to desktop
else i would flash with official ruu like before
i tried like u say but like i showed u hang on boot or just in off bug charge
when i take out batterie wait one moment then back batterie it starts
u see htc logo after u see again android logo hanging all the time
i think theres no way else only via jtag right
Take out the battery then replace, don't power on the phone normally, use volume down and power to get into hboot. If that still won't work your only choice is to use adb to enter recovery,
Do you know how to use adb?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium
pls read thereads before cän´t go in recovery
my side button not work damaged!
allready used adb but no connect to desktop
only one sound hear but not else
First, I did read the thread that's why I thought I'd chip in and try to help.
Second, your english isn't too clear so what you're saying doesn't make much sense.
Third, if you have adb setup correctly all you need to do is connect the phone to pc, open a command prompt and type adb reboot recovery then wipe everything in recovery and flash a new Rom or restore a backup..
But if my help is not wanted take your ass over to eBay and buy a new volume button and sort it out yourself.

That's how you use ADB (Per your Screenshot)? Well done. Hopefully this gives you a lesson to not flash stuff randomly in the future and research before messing with your phone.
Anyway, cant help much apart from the battery pull method which Scratch described because applying any working fix WILL need you to boot ATLEAST into HBOOT, if not Recovery. So, if your battery fix doesn't work, get the volume button fixed, then you can be in a position to get it back to life. (Else, JTAG, as you said)
are you sure your side button doesnt work?
sometimes it takes my phone a little time to get into hboot it just depends where you are pressing on the side button... also try holding the side button down first and then just tap the power button
before you say my side button doesnt work at least try it

[Q] Problem with Volume Rocker and Bootloader

Hi,
Yesterday I just wanted to restore a CWM-Backup, but came from a ROM, that had no advanced power options (no choosing between "recovery" and "normal" after holding power button and touching "reboot"). So I used Rom Manager to boot into recovery (4ext touch), and used a superwipe script like "every day", Then, i dont know how, the phone turned off, (normally this script just reboots into recovery)
So I wanted to boot into recovery via bootloader by vol. down+ power button: I had have trouble with vol. rocker for 3 months or so, but always made it (with enough pressure) , to boot into bootlader. But now nothing seems to work anymore, i tried it several times but only got it booting and then freezing (caused by fullwipe). Then I removed the plastic rocker to have access to this "micro button" (dont know how to call it) and push it with a pen, but didn´t work, too.
So i began to research, but just found people that had problems with their plastic rocker (seems to be a very well known problem of htc ace) and not this micro buttons. And if I hadn´t full wiped it, i could boot and maybe get into recovery via adb or any apps. :crying:
So my question is: Does anyone know a solution or is there a way to get into bootloader and recovery without vol. down + power or app?
My DHD is rooted and S-OFF,of course
THANKS IN ADVANCE !
am facing the same problem my volume down aint working and cant connect my DHD to usb plz plz plz help

" 2: Connect Phone (turned off) to PC via USB
" 3: open new cmd on pc
" 4. Type "adb reboot recovery" and you get into recovery ! ( and install/restore a new/backed up rom)

I tried the steps to told us about it didnt work "Error : device not found"
Just try to reinstall adb, maybe it also could be a driver problem (?)
I first turned it off by removing the battery for 10 seconds to be sure, that it´s OFF.
Then connected the PC via USB while red notification LED flashes up (!! Be sure to use a USB 2.0 port, NOT 3.0 and NO usb-hub>typical mistake !!) and pressed windows logo on keyboard: type in searchbar "cmd", and right click on "cmd.exe" and select "Run as administrator". Then type in "adb.exe". Possible commands will show up and then type in "adb reboot recovery".
I think it´s just a driver or connection problem, nothing on the phone itself!

you are right, am facing a problem with the driver, I get the HTC sync installed good and I have the adb but I couldnt make the the pc read it as android it keeps saying its a storage device "mass storage"
So you are able to boot? or please tell me, what the status of your htc dhd is.
I'm facing almost the same problem.
Adb is set right on the pc (have used it before on this phone and on other phones), usb 2.0 on the back, but phone has adb turned off due to ruu, vol down rocker completely detached.
error: device not found
So, what can I do?
So first try to use a pen to push the micro Button.
I suppose, that you can install apps on your current Rom (?), so try "Rom Manager from market use the in-app "reboot into recovery ".

I only have 2 problems with that :

2. phone does not boot up, unfortunately it's stuck into bootloop
Sorry my fault, havent read your Link to your Problem description, but seems to be a very very hard-to-solve-Problem . The phone has so many "damages", that are connected to each other, that the new cable is maybe the only way out; and just by the way, im from Germany , so in my case the only thing, that worked for me was this ADB command.

Well, the phone in question is from Germany, and I'm in Hungary right now.
Actually, I managed to solve almost all of the problems, except for the booting to bootloader one.
It's an easy one, if your volume button works good.

Is this phone Rooted? well try this pull the battery out put it back in, and press and hold volume down button and press power and see if you are able to get into boot loader...
tricky !
two options
1- check bootloader (volume down + power) , if it gets a white screen with options , you can repair the device.
2- if it does not go into bootloader , then first download Htc sync for desire z , setup the android SDK , then plug ur phone inn, in command prompt , type *adb devices* .
If it shows a serial number below List Of Devices , then get back to this forum and report
And the last thing is the power Hardware button fine ?? Although quite impossible , but the hardware power button might be faulty !!

[Q] One x touch screen fail

Searched many places for my problem but cannot find it specifically and this forum seems to be more clued up than most so here goes.
One x screen started to occasionally freeze on unlock screen (volume buttons worked also the volume pop up came on so screen itself not frozen just couldnt touch input i presume) but would fix with either a full power down or a few presses of the top button. Over the course of a day or two this has progressed to virtually always freezing and finally to where i couldnt unfreeze it even after powering down.
Did a factory reset which did give me access to my phone again but still the problem persists.
From my research it could possibly be some sort of cache problem. Also noticed after factory reset with no apps or data installed, apart from the preinstalled ones, am using 4.7 gb of internal memory with only htc sense running. this seems excessive to me but never checked it before so not sure if this is about right. If not then the cache theory could be right.
So can anyone help me please.

No need to root / unlock bootloader
EDIT: follow option 2
following option 2 but stuck.
Make sure that USB debugging is enabled (Settings/Developer options). In order to determine which ruu file you require, boot your device into bootloader mode (Power off and then restart device by holding Power and Volume Down button together). Connect to pc via USB and check that device shows FASTBOOT USB on screen. Enter the following command in command prompt:
fastboot getvar version-main
But when i enter that in Command prompt i get fastboot is not recognised command etc using windows 8. Any help
Note: my phone is locked

Hold the power button and the volume - button together until it reboots and boots into the bootloader, hook the usb cable and you should see "fastboot usb" in red text. At that point you run the ruu with administrator rights

Try shutting of the phone, powering on when holding power button+volume down for about 8s.
You will get a hboot, choose fastboot connect usb cable and try ruu with admin permissions
finally did get to hboot screen by letting the phone shutdown itself but couldnt ruu as battery power to low so i powered down and recharged battery but back to square one where i cannot get to boot screen just constant black htc screen and cant power down again.
So ill let my battery run down again to power off completely open boot screen then stay on that til i power up enough to try ruu again.
Il let you know what happens when this is done later.

[Q] Stuck on HTC Logo, can't get into bootloader after root attempt

Hi, I know there are a lot of other similar threads but none of them have solved my problem.
I ingeniously decided to try upgrading an old Desire HD to Jelly Bean to use while I'm waiting for a new phone that I actually want to be released. I followed the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2221039 successfully until this part:
7.If this is all fine boot into bootloader again.
From bootloader go to fastboot.
Go back to the cmd window on your PC from earlier, type in:
•Fastboot oem lock
Then type:
•fastboot oem rebootRUU
•fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
•fastboot reboot-bootloader
unlock the bootloader again using the Unlock_code.bin you got from HTC:
•fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
Click to collapse
After I ran "fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin" my phone restarted and now it's stuck on the htc logo. I'm unable to get into the the bootloader by holding volume down while powering the device (though I was having this problem before starting the root process, instead I was using "adb reboot-bootloader" to get into it). I've also tried to leave the battery out for a while. It's not being detected by HTCSync or "adb devices" either.
Anyone have any solutions to this problem? I'm a complete Android noob so please keep it simple (though I have experience with UNIX and the command-line).

Hmm, remove and reinsert the battery, and plug it into a computer, don't power the phone on, wait and see if the computer detects it, if it does, try "adb devices" to see if it shows up.

i had the same problem but fixed now. The way i did this was to actually take out the hardware for the volume rocker and check if the contacts are all in place. i then booted into bootloader by connecting my phone to a power source (computer or ac) and pressed the volume down button so that it registered. For some reason it seems to register you clicking the button better when its out of the key. Sorry if you don't understand this, I really don't know how to explain the rocker and the keys separately 0_o
Some times guys the firmware.zip file once flash does get stuck on the HTC White screen during the exploit just run ADB and continue with the unlocking of your radio. Its safe.

Wooh!!! It worked !!! Thank you very much!!!
For future reference, this is how what I did to complete the root process:
1. Pull off the battery cover, take out the battery.
2. Rip off the label with IMEI and S/N and then use a toothpick or plastic tweezers to pull out the ribbon cable from the volume rocker (see video here: youtube[dotcom]/watch?v=JfatoeWbMRk&feature=player_detailpage&t=143)
3. Press the volume down button on the cable a few times to make sure it clicks then clean the inside of the volume rocker a bit, put the cable back in, and press volume down a few times to test it.
4. Put the battery back in, connect the USB to your computer, hold volume down and press the power button so that it goes into the bootloader.
5. Go into fastboot and continue the rest of the steps from the guide.
Note: if adb doesn't detect your phone then reboot it and enable USB debugging again in Settings > Applications > Development and then reboot into the bootloader.
