Well, im a beginner in this stuff,
I am trying to remove some system apps from my desire with ADB in recovery mode
the problem is, it states that the device is offline when in recovery mode, when in normal mode when the phone is up and running ADB works.
After some research, I discovered it might be a driver problem so I uninstalled/reinstalled/jumped trough hoops.. still nothing
tried this on a MAC ... still the same
phone is untouched by me, got it like that from the store
Sorry for being total noob
Some pictures attached
thanx for any advice
hi, this is normal, U are mistaken...
iwhen in normal mode when the phone is up and running ADB work => this fine
the seconf pic shows your hboot and "fastboot " U should use the command fastboot in this mode
have a look on this site
No, you need to use adb but actually in recovery. So not in fastboot.

Im not sure if you got me right, the phone reboots into recovery (the phone with the red triangle)
and then it says its offline
thanx for the help
Are you even rooted? Sound like you still have stock recovery.
You need to be rooted to remove apps, search for unrevoked or there might be a link in my sig.

oh, I was misguided to think I dont have to root the phone in order too use this method
yes everything is stock, ive mentioned it in the first post
well thank you for your help
ohhhh i m sorry mate,
I am afraid i have not been clear.... to remove apps u do this with adb however you need a rooted phone and the phone must be working ... complete boot ... normal state
the pic U posted shows a mode on the phone wich is used with fastboot and fastboot do other things that you ask.
I uploaded this pic just to share the phone info

Okay, you have Android SDK, ADB, and Fastboot? You are locked and rooted, yet still on a custom rom?
You need to unlock the bootloader by entering fastboot and then performing:
fastboot oem unlock
Then you will need to flash Google's custom images found here. You will have to place the contents of the compressed file in the same folder where you have adb and fastboot commands. Then you can perform
sh flash-all.sh (or you can flash one by one, whatever you want)
Then you can perform
fastboot oem lock
yeeeeees , i got the sulution and it works

thx
Yo, again problems with fckin htc devices.
I just downgraded the rom from gingerbread to 2.2 froyo.
After that I rooted the phone, but now I cant install cwm recovery via adb.
Always gettin the msg "failed, REMOTE: NOT ALLOWED "
Debugging is enabled.
Anyone can help me with that crap htc phone?
Calling your g2/dz crap doesn't make it so, it just sounds like you don't know what you're doing and then complaing that it must be the phones fault... kinda flawed logic.
But if you want some help rooting it why don't you post a copy of your cmd output/imput and we can see where you went wrong. Also maybe link the guide you're following as there may bed a better one that is easier for you to understand

The phone is already rooted and S-off
During the rooting process and gaining true radio soff you will have a custom recovery.
Did you follow the YouTube video to root then?
The only method you won't to use to root is with gfree
Either follow the xda wiki
Cyanogens wiki
Or straw metals PDF guide
For the most part anything else you do will cause you problems
Sent from my HTC Vision using Tapatalk 2
Yea, I followed the youtube video.
How can I roll it back to s-on?
i just quickly looked at the youtube video and it seems it was having you run gfree for the exploit which is good but doing it through terminal emulator not through adb. shouldnt be an issue doing this but im too lazy to go through the video and see if it was telling you all the right things, either way you need to check and see if gfree worked.
check THIS POST out, follow the steps at the bottom and see if gfree worked. if you have true radio s-off than flash one of the pc10img.zips through hboot or fastboot - fastboot is the preferred method as if there is an error it will tell it to you and you can choose not to reboot until it is fixed.
if you need further help feel free to ask
Just checked it.
But got one question
"~make nandroid in recovery"
How can I make a backup without recovery? :x
As long as it says secure flag zero you are safe to use the pc10img.zip
The nandroid is just so you can restore easy, instead just flash a new rom
But you may just want to flash the recovery through fastboot if you're not interested in changing radios etc, so long as you have an engineering SPL you can do this, if not flashing the pc10img.zip will give you one.

Looks like the zip is signed incorrectly. If you know what I mean by an md5 sum, check it corresponds to the one the developer lists. If you don't know what I mean by an md5 sum, then try to download the ROM again and flash the new download. Which ROM is it by the way?

Slightly out of my depth here, but go to the thread demkantor posted a few posts up and read carefully, it will be very informative.
Also you appear to be using stock Android recovery, I'm not certain this is a problem but just to make sure I would find out how to use fastboot to flash clockworkmod recovery. Just Google "flash clockworkmod recovery fast boot" or something along those lines... If you already have android SDK set up, etc. Which I assume you must have being as you're rooted, it shouldn't be too difficult.
Sorry this is about as much as I can help, I'm sure demkantor will be able to help you through anything more than this.

thanks buddy ,
yes having andriod sdk .
THIS THREAD will teach you how to use fastboot to do
various things such as flash a new recovery. problem is you dont have a bootloader with fastboot
capabilities, well at least not many. do you know how the phone was rooted? if it was
done using the gfree method than you can simply flash one of the PC10IMG.zips from
post 30 in the thread linked above (done via bootloader) if not it could be an issue to use do this.
you can only flash update.zips through the recovery you have now and they more than likely would need to be signed by htc. if you dont have a working os right now then
you may need to flash an ruu (one that matches your phone) let me know where you stand on all this

give me link for rom for htc desire z which work fine on my phone
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ucdfd91qn7h1dbm/kTTY8yOJLN/PC10IMG
That's the link for some custom PC10IMG.zips but again I can't promise they are safe to flash if you just rooted your phone with some app.
Adb won't work being all you have is a stock recovery and no os, adb won't work in bootloader mode
As for an ruu, I don't what was specific to your phone, you can see if this command works to check, may not though

Hello friends,
I'm trying to install cyanogenmod and no matter what I do I consistently get the device not found error when I try to use "adb push cm-10.2.0-RC1-endeavoru.zip \sdcard\"
I know that in the cyanogenmod install guide it says it's probable that it's a driver issue. I've looked around for a good 2 hours trying to find what it might be, so I've tried reinstalling htc sync, I've tried uninstalling htc sync and using koush's universal adb driver, but nothing seems to work.
When using "adb devices" it doesn't give me the error, it just gives me "List of devices attached" which is empty. (I'm not sure if this is what it is supposed to do though)
Attached img of what I've been doing.
USB debugging is on. It's been automatically turned on whenever I connect it to my PC since I updated to 4.2.2 anyway.
I have no idea where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, I'm completely new to this. Do you mean normal recovery from bootloader or a custom recovery that I should of done but completely skipped due to my ignorance? (I also haven't unlocked bootloader so I'm assuming that's a misstep as well?)
Because all I get when I do the normal recovery is a picture of a phone with a red triangle and "!" combo.
Thanks
Yeah to install a custom rom it's mandatory to unlock the bootloader and install a custom recovery. And what i can tell from your post it that you really are a novice on things. Some tips ?
1: never start without a full battery
2: learn fastboot + commands
3: always make a stock rom nandroid backup before starting flashing !
Read up in this forum. Under the stickys there are some nifty guides. If you have questions after that just ask here.

Thanks for the tips!
After a while of toiling to try and unlock the boot loader manually and getting stuck at the load error for Unlock_code.bin, I found Hasoon2000's tool, so he is my god for now.
My query that I have is, Do I need a custom recovery like ClockWorkMod to create a nandroid back up? Because all I get when I try to go into recovery from the bootloader is this (img attached, not mine because I don't have another camera in the house but luckily I managed to find one on google img.)
I can't find anything saying that I do need a custom recovery, but then again it's not working when I try without one, so I'm not too sure where to go from here.
Thanks again
Please read carefully what i write, i know exactly what to do !
You need a custom recovery !
Sorry to be back again so soon but I'm stuck again, haha.
When I try to flash cwm I get "error: cannot load 'recovery.img'". When I try to use Hasoon2000's tool kit to do it for me it doesn't work either as it just says device not found and in the second command window it says that it can't load it's .img file either.
The recovery.img is in the same location as fastboot. My phone is in Fastboot in bootloader.
I'm typing "r:\Android\adt\sdk\platform-tools\fastboot flash recovery recovery.img". Trying to auto complete recovery.img using tab does nothing (if that might indicate some sort of problem).
The only thing I can think of is that the MTP drivers never install properly but I read on this forum that it shouldn't affect fastboot.

I just updated the phone drivers (without HTC sync) from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2376761 to 4.2.0.001 from the 4.0 version I had that HTC sync had installed previously for some reason.

Ok so I still couldn't do it manually on the other computer. Got the same errors as with the first. I tried flashing with Hasoon2000's tool again and noticed that it was trying to flash CWM.img while the recovery for it was actually called recovery.img. Renamed it to CWM.img and it flashed perfectly.
I assume it would of done the same on the original PC I tried it on.
No idea why it wouldn't work when I tried it manually, but yolo. Hasoon2000 is love. Hasoon2000 is life.
Holy hell Hasoon2000 has saved me again.
I flashed the kernal by accident and it got stuck in boot. So i just sideloaded the rom in H2K's tool and everything turned up Milhouse.
Yay congrats

And if it says can not load recovery that means it's named differently or that it's not placed in the same dir of the fastboot files. A common error is that people hide filename extensions in windows. Then rename the recovery to recovery.img.img and then it won't be found by fastboot
