Jelly bean rom. CM10 vs PARANOIDANDROID - Desire General

So wich rom do you think is better ? the jelly bean rom from CM10 or the PARANOIDANDROID v3.0 rom ? Both seem good but the PARANOIDANDROID one look's a little better to me. What is your opinion ?

You could also try the Marius.a JB rom, it has working cam and video recording..
[ROM/MOD] [Android 4.1.1] [v1.1 09.03.2013]

After trying most of the jb and ics roms here, I think paranoid by WoH is the best.
Very fast, stable, and a2sd seems to work better than on other roms

CM10 is better for me

Hi, for me PARANOIDANDROID is much better than CM10, i dont have any problems with soft reboot.
Rgds,

For me PARANOIDANDROID 3.10 is much better - camera works fine, ROM is fast
But I have troubles with music sometimes - when plug off headphones - no more music till reboot (any music player)

yep im using PARANOIDANDROID for more than a week and its very good. I have the same problem with music as you.

As for me, Cm 10 is better.

I like VJ CM10.1 there are some problems, but nothing that I cannot live with.

[Q] Good multilangauge ICS Rom for Desire?

I have just got my hands on an old HTC Desire.. And now I will play with ICS rom's
But....
Is there one ICS rom that is more stable than other=?
Is there a MULTILANGAUGE ICS rom ?
What ROM can you advise me to use ??
Hey !
I am currently using BCM R4.0, really impressive and smooth !!
From my former tests, the ROM from Sandvold was good also, both him and DK-Zero-Cool are doing great work.
I can confirm what Enendil says - the BCM ROM has almost everything you may need.
All language packs and keyboard layouts from CyanogenMod 9 are available.
Also you can use COS ICS, its stable fast and have the language packs you want, also I never get one bsod with this rom.
Thanks.. I'll try one of them...
But if i like SENSE to be in a rom... Then what rom to use ??

There's only 1. And that's shaky153's Sense 4.0 Rom. But its in Alpha and loads of stuff don't work yet. Shaky himself said he will work on Kernel 3.0 (Project Y) before continuing development of Sense 4. So if you want Sense and a usable device, best stay on AOSP and switch when the features you need are working on the Rom.

Okay.. Thanks...
I recommend using the BCM CM9 ICS 4.0 rom
For me its perfect. Its the most stable one and the smoothest one too. USB tether is fixed on this rom and the camera works so does the recorder too but the video playback is crap and to fix this u just use MX Player that has decoding options. Everything else works perfect. All the games are much faster here and almost all the games work just like they work on gb. They are just much faster. For example Hot Pursuit works perfect on this rom and just try the game on a gb rom and see that its slow and cuz of that boring.

ICS 4.0.4 BCM RC4.0U0 GSM/CDMA (Bravo CM9 HWA) by DK_ZeroCool is the best for me. I'm from Ukraine and I haven't any problems with my language in this ROM
it's true, if you want sense on your phone, you better stick with android 2.x.
but you should give ICS a try, because i was just like you and wanted to keep my stock sense UI, but i'm super glad to have changed to 4.0.4.
i use sandvolds ICS, and it's very stable. only thing that's missing is video recording. but i'm okay with that.
well, just try for yourself and you will find out what's best for you

[Q] CM9 vs CM10?

Which is better, CM9 or CM10?
With all the hard work of the FXP team, it's extremely difficult to choose between CyanogenMod 9 and CyanogenMod 10
I was wondering, if through the power of the XDA forums, people would be so kind as to help me out a bit, maybe offer an opinion, or tell me the benefits of each.
Obviously I've read through both threads and found problems and errors, but due to the constant updates, I never know if these errors still exist or not
Hopefully someone can help me decide between CM9 and CM10 or advise me to stick to my Sony stock based rom at the moment
Thanks!
- Jack
There are total three versions released by FXP.
1. CM7 - Ginger bread
2, CM9 - Ice Cream Sandwich
3. CM10 - Jellybean
Right now CM9 is in beta and CM10 is in alpha. Where CM7 is in stable mode means everything is working and most of the problems got solved.
Regarding CM9, its laggy compare to CM10 - my personal experience. But CM9 it is in beta, where it fits for daily use.
Regarding CM10, this ROM is in alpha, with fixes (posted in CM10 thread) it is also suit for daily use.
What I want to say is stay with GB, flash CM10 once the rom moved to beta version or flash CM7 for fast and smooth ROM. :highfive:

One thing I like about ICS is the action bar though
Are there any app incompatibilities like apps that only work with ICS+ or do they all work with GB?

Why would you say that is?
CM9 cuz its more stable than CM10.
I use CM 9.1 because it supports flash... CM10 is a lot more fluid than CM9, but lack of flash support is a huge deal for me.
I chose to try out CM10 and I don't think I'm going back
If you install cm10, there is a simple way to get flash working just as it does on Ics, tested it myself with flash and dolphin browser if you're interested I can link you to the apk

sorry but...Neither One Nor the Other .in My opinion!
What I like most about JB/CM10 is the options in the notification bar, like quick reply, call (for texts), and call back or message (for calls) not to mention the incredible battery life i get when my phone is in standby (i think it averages 0.5%/h, which is much lower than all the other roms I tried, for GB and ICS). But I'm using an xperia pro (since we share a forum) so it might not be the same... but one thing i don't like about CM10 is the camera (have they fixed that in fxp138?) and the random crashes every now and then. But it's not that bad.
If you want tasted ICS and GB look, just try flash Jelly Sandwich by Maxxio 1998. Just stable... Use until CM10 get the beta version...

[Q] Kangbang 3.0 (hellboy kern) stalling?

Hi All,
Got KangBang up and running (needed the camera, thought I would stick to cm9 till jellybean is stable). Hellboy kernel.
I'm having some weird stalling issues, it 'seems' it when the system tries to auto suggest a fill for a field. For example, when in chrome, google auto suggests the ending to a search term and it hangs. This has also happened with the ebay app and when configuring dropbox.
has anybody experienced this before? Any suggestions on how to tune it down or out?
Thanks in advance
Stuart

Actaully slim bean looks pretty good.... suggestions for some 'smooth' kernels and cpu gov's?

You need hellboy kernel. You can over clock to 1.5ghz and use smartvass to have a very smooth phone

A rom idea...

OK guys lets see. I'm getting quite tired and bored with my dumb ports. So I decided to make this thread to see what all your opinions on the best rom ever would be. Everyone is free to suggest ideas. This will be the greatest rom ever! One that makes everyone happy.
Launcher
Icons
Apps
Android Version
Theme
Tweaks
Type of rom - AOSP, AOKP, CM, MIUI, etc..
Sound Mods
Please be thinking about those so I can try and make a rom that can be for everyone. Name: OMNI-ROM
OMNI - Meaning everything or all
ROM - ...You should know what this means...
Alright there will be marvelc support as well. BAM!!!
So any ideas?
Hey thehacka1! Dude, I appreciate all your efforts and achievements and I don't mean to disappoint you with what I'm going to say, but....
I think all of these things are pretty much customisable. The only thing someone has to pick is the base rom and then he can transform it however he likes, even within the rom itself. So, I think we reached a point in which new rom posts don't make any noticeable difference, like those of alquez, modpunk etc back in the old days.
And to answer your question, what I generally prefer is the cyanogenmod UI. djoliviers "nameless CM10" and it's scripts cover my needs. I bypass the usb tether bug with 3rd party apps and use spiritFM for fm radio.
The only decision I have to make personally is whether to use a -Modded stock rom- and customise it however I like (launcher, apps, int2ext+ etc) or the cm10 port as I use it now.
Correct me if I'm wrong, plus I'd like to hear your opinion about what I think.

Thanks for your reply. I understand what you mean but what I was talking about was modding the framework. Alright then. Only one option left. Port Android Revolution HD and Toasted Marsh mellow. These are two ROMs our device does not have. Another is JellyBam. These will be my new projects:
Toasted Marshmallow
Android Revolution HD
JellyBam
And any other ROMs the Wildfire S doesn't have...
WISH ME LUCK!!!

hehe! I really wish you luck! But now that you say it, you mentioned something about cm10.1 framework in a post in the development section. This is something I would really be interested in.
GOOD LUCK!
ps. you can do it.
The only base I require is included...... marvelC support. Lol. But seriously, I ran Team Baked Black Beans aokp for quite some time on my Evo and loved it. I'm working on a few builds though, nothing to consider a breakthrough, I just wanted choices on the marvelc. And I'm really most comfortable building myself so when something doesnt work, I have an entire build environment at my disposal.

Sorry to hear that you're stopping making ROMS.

This alone makes my day!
For me, the best ROM would use the newest JB and be compact/slim in size. Anything else I can learn to use and adapt to. I know there have been GPS issues, but if there was any way you could make that work - I would be overjoyed.
That's all. I don't ask for much.
Thank you!

I want to change my ROM

Hello colleagues,
At the moment I am using VJ CM10.1 | Jelly Bean 4.2.2 - v6.2 Stock/Sense/Data++ and it works almost good but not enough.
With it I have random reboots and the camera cannot record video at all.
Could you advise me another image with good video recording and without random reboots?
Thanks in advance!
Depends what Android version u want. I personally use MIUI XJ for few days now, its nice and fast, camera works as it should. Its Android 2.3 BTW

If you want stability and good video recording use any gingerbread rom. I would recommend one of mildwilds.
If you want a jelly bean rom that doesn't have soft reboot issues try the paranoid android rom in my sig. Unfortunately most jb roms including this one don't have good video recording.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=809328
Avoid those: Sense 4.1, Sense 4.0, Jelly Bean, Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) AOSP/SDK.
Everything else will be fine.

I've been using CyanoMod007 JB 4.2.2 recently and it is the best JB rom so far for me. Very solid with no reboots so far after a couple days.
