Hi guys, trying to retrace my steps after having one too many last night. I know there's wifi and cell location cache files on the phone but unfortunately i didn't have data enabled during all of the night but my GPS was. This means the cell location cache isnt complete and it didn't seem to log to google location history either. My question is if there is a GPS cache file saved somewhere that i can query like the cache.cell file? Thanks!

Okay, so today I installed a game "Lights out 5x5" and PocketGBA, and sometime after that my phone stopped connecting to the internet, in some instances.
I can update the weather, but IE, Operate, and my e-mail won't connect to the internet. This happens on 3g as well as wifi, so its probably the phone instead of the service.
Any way to trouble shoot this or figure out whats wrong? I removed the files I installed, and that's when the weather started working. Nothing since then.
I downloaded PIM backup and will backup my info just in case I have to do a hard reset. Is there anything I can do?
Also, if I do clear storage from the phone, it doesn't erase the SD card does it? Just curious
clear storage does not affect your SD card at all.
Hi, Is there any settings, that tell me how old is AGPS satellite data?
Is there any program, that allow me to download AGPS satellite data? Or is this anywhere in settings ?
I have very slow GPS fix, so AGPS data might fix this.
Regards, Ales
Go into the market and search for GPS Status & Toolbox.
Good program.
Thanks, I will try. Regards, ALes
Does GPS Status actually download a file called xtra.bin?
I activated it, then searched on my phone and sd card for the file, but I can't find it ...

Try to go to clear data for Google Services Framework, and then rebbot your phone.
i deleted the Data for Google Services Framework and reboot my phone -> still have the problem :crying:
Do you use some app for a-gps or you just have modded gps configuration file?
Here is the original gps.conf file, try to push it to system/etc folder using some root explorer.
i will try your file now.

g+
htc weather widget
and a short test of smart navi (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ilm.sandwich&hl=de)
EDIT:
i have replace the gps.conf with yours and restart the phone -> problem is still their
i tried to clear the data from Google Services Framework too -> problem is still their
and i tried to delete all data/cache from weather (all weather apps/services i found) -> problem is still their
gpsstatus downloaded new agps data and wait for 7/7 satellites -> no location is set -> problem is still their
First check if the file I gave you have right permissions (have to be the same as all other files in folder). If that doesn't work my recommendatio is to make a backup of your data and do a fresh clean install of your rom.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Flashes and Thunders
I checked the rights/permissions all files have rw-r--r-- and so the gps.conf too.
ok reflash the rom is the last way (i think), when nobody else have an idea i will do that.
Thats a way to test an ics rom too before i reflash my actual rom
just an idea: could it help to reflash the radio rom?

I dont have test an ics rom before, but when i need to flash this rom again, so i can just flash an other rom before because of full wipe
I have already this problem.
No App gets an Location-Information.
Which Service or File is needed by them?
I will replace them by myself (overwrite)
It looks ugly on lockscreen and homescreen (current location, instead of the weather information an location name)
Any Developer who knows an answer??
I push the issue again.
Can anyone list what is required for location via wireless?
It had in the meantime work times, because of problems I had to import a backup which of 22 Sept. 2012 was.
I would be glad to get an assistance
Hey guys,
I recently updated to the latest CM10.1 (d2att) from get.cm. I also updated to the latest GApps. Before installing, I wiped cache and dalvik cache. I also performed a factory reset.
That said, after I booted to the system, my mobile data and WiFi did not work. I rebooted the phone and still nothing. I reset my APNs and nothing. I searched far and wide and people are saying the d2vzw (Verizon GS3) is having this issue, but the d2att users seem to be having no issue at all.
I turned on Airplane mode and rebooted the device. I then disabled Airplane mode and WiFi/Mobile Data kicked on and I was good to go.. however when I rebooted my phone again to test, it was disabled. I seem to have to do this each and every time if I want WiFi/Mobile Data.
Another concern is USB connectivity.... My PC sees my phone, however the sdcard and internal storage drives seem to be swapped. What I mean by this is my PC is displaying the contents of the phone's internal storage as 'sdcard' and vice versa. If I remove the MicroSD card from the phone, my computer shows an empty folder for Internal Storage. (however it shows that there is 5gb of space used on the drive). Copying and Transferring is disabled.
When I tried the 12/17 nightly, I had usb access because I flashed back with ease, however now that I have the 12/18 I have lost access to my TWRP backups and have to reflash 10.0.0 in order to regain access and then flash my backups.
Is anyone else experiencing anything similar, and if so is there a fix?
Thanks,
Ryan
All of your problems are widespread and being discussed in multiple threads.

Thank you so much for the link and quick replies guys! I am very sorry, I searched using forums and google (actually since 2pm this afternoon ET, and even checked the cyanogenmod IRC channel, but no one stated they had issues.)
Glad to know they are being addressed and I'll follow that thread going forward!
Have a great night!
Hi all,
A brief history of my device: Hardware failed so I create a backup image, send the busted phone for warranty, and restore the image on my new hardware. I think some permissions weren't quite set right when I restored from the image, I noticed problems like:
1) My camera complained I had no storage space (it didn't have permission to write to the sd card). If I remember correctly, I had to manually fix some permissions to fix this.
2) (The current problem I am writing about): In the Google Maps application, when I tried to save a region for offline use, it said something like 'Storage Error' in red (I don't remember exactly what the message was because I updated the app, see below).
In an attempt to fix this, I updated the Maps application to the newest version. The new version has a different 'offline maps' implementation. This new implementation claims to be downloading/caching the map, but if I exit the app and re-open it, the map is not actually stored anywhere.
Question: Does anyone know how to fix this?
At the very least...can anyone tell me where google maps stores its offline maps so I can try to manually fix permissions?
Thanks!
-Julian
Shameless bump because I'm out of the country and offline maps would be nice!
Any help appreciated!
Generally apps store their data in 1 or 2 of the following places:
/sys/data
/data/data
/sdcard/Android
If you're rooted with a custom recovery, the recovery app should have a fix permissions. I know twrp and cwm do.
