Hi, I have all the latest installations of the SkyNote 8.2 and Google Wallet installed according to instructions. But, it produces an error when I launch it...states: "Device Not Ready - Wallet is unable to proceed until this device is fully initialized. Make sure the device has network access and try rebooting if the problem persists" I have rebooted the device several times, and it has working network access ( tried both cell network and wifi ). Please help let me know what I can do to fix this issue. What do I need to do to fix this?
i figured it out

i figured it out, i had to go into android os after installing the first skynote google wallet piece, set up my google wallet account....then, reboot into recovery to load the second google wallet piece for skynote rom, and then everything was fine and tested google wallet to be good.

Hey dude. i have the exact same issue. I have already loaded the finalizing, and restore everything through titanium backup. my google account is fully associated with the phone. Do i need to fully reflash the ROM, or just do the wallet remove flash, then start with step one of google wallet?

I had google wallet working on my t-mo S3 by modifying the build prop with root explorer, and did a patch on my frosty JB rom. Then had a problem with the rom so I did a full wipe without having a chance to reset my google wallet. Now after flashing a ROM, I can not have google wallet working any more. Tried everything under the sun and I can not add my account anymore. Google wallet app can be opened but cannot add gmail account. Did a lot of searching but so far nothing seems to work. In my google account the mobile wallet device is shown as deactivated. No button to reactivate. Even tried flashing different ROMs. Any one had this problem? Help please...

If you have a nanadroid back up of your previous rom where your google wallet was working, restore it reset google wallet and then it should work.
if you didn't then i don't think you will be able to get it working again.
Yes before flashing another ROM you MUST reset Google wallet I made the same mistake. I think you can reset it on their website or through the play store I think.

I've flashed ROMs without wiping twice but both times its worked and NFC has not broken. But you can also wipe from computer

Why do you get a "Device Set-up Failed" error?
For security reasons, Google Wallet can only be activated once on a device and must be reset in order to work again.
Can't I reset it by going to www.google.com/wallet?
Yes, but there's a caveat. The Google Wallet app has to respond to the server to confirm that it has been reset. If someone steals your phone and stops the reset process, Google Wallet will be broken. The same goes for installing a new ROM that prevents the Wallet app from communicating with the servers.
Here's how to fix a device set-up failed error:
1. Go to www.google.com/wallet and reset your device
2. Uninstall any trace of Google Wallet
3. Create a nandroid
4. Return your phone to the exact state that it was in when Google Wallet worked. (For me, this was LGNPST to ZVB, rooted but locked)
5. Install xposed installer and reboot
6. Install and activate Google Wallet Root and Region Check Remover module and reboot
7. Install Google Wallet (still can't download from the Play Store)
8. Start up Google Wallet and log in to your account
9. Once set-up completes, create another nandroid
10. After reboot, reset Google Wallet through the app
11. Restore your original nandroid
12. Install xposed and root and region check remover
13. Install Google Wallet and sign in
Thanks to jamebarron88
I don't know how many times I have tried these steps before - the only difference was this time I did go back to an older copy of ZVB (Odex, though I was pretty sure I used DeOdex with my original Wallet) and it worked. Wallet finally re-activated
Thanks for the writeup, hopefully this will help others as well.
(Just for info, now running CM10.1 with Wallet)
Wallet seemed to be working. It even let me add new payment cards, but everywhere ive tried to use it I get a declined error from the merchant. Ive tried with both my credit card and my debit card. Both cards go through once they are physically swiped.
I'm about to give up. Has anyone been successful in making purchases with the app?

Your credit card company might not recognize the charge, give them a call to allow them to authorize it.
This was what happened to me.
I haven't tried to use wallet in a long time so I don't remember the exact state it was when it last worked.. Would going back to stock suffice?
Also where can I find the Google Wallet Root and Region Check Remover module?

I have had no issues. I bought soda from a coke machine. And yesterday I bought coffee at Tim Horton's.
Also. I've used it on stock rooted and aosp ROMs.

Symptoms
Google Play Services Error - receiving a message " An Application Requires and Update"
when trying to use "Update" , I get "Package file was not signed correctly. Uninstall the previous copy of the app and try again"
when trying to "Deactivate" i get "This app is a device administrator and must be deactivated before uninstalling"
this is now affecting other apps (Google Keep, Hangouts, etc)
I talked to Google already ,cleared download manager, did factor reset twice, no avail, same issue. their recommendation is to contact Asus
Yesterday I unlocked and rooted the tablet, same issue.
Any suggestions? I downloaded "com.google.android.gms.apk" but the system does not let me install it
Thank you in advance , I am stuck for over 3 weeks
You can try going into the Google Play Services app, then force stop, clear cache and clear data. This may do it.
What you may need to do, what I've had to do, is delete the Google account off your device, then add it back. (A reboot in between couldn't hurt.) Why this happens, I don't know.
I suggest to flash a factory image, may be, there is something destroyed in the firmware ...
Just wondering....

I am not sure that I have any clever answers right now, but to clarify the problem, is this with Google Play itself not letting you update or install anything (without producing this error message) or is it a specific app that you are trying to update which is the only one resulting in this error?

It is both
a) Google Play Services require an update (which refuses to install)
b) com.google.android.keep (Google Keep) requires an update (otherwise not letting to open -" This app won't run unless you update Google Play Services"). when trying to update it takes you to the same screen for Google Play Services update which fails.
If it helps, the store shows me 4.0.34 section under "What's new" which I think is not the latest Google Play Services apk
Thank you
tried both...

I tried both (multiple times), as installed by Google Support and forums
a) removal of all accounts
b) reset to factory image.
c) force stop, cache/data clear
same issues
any other thoughts guys? is custom ROM by only answer?
if it helps, this is an LTE tablet
How about this?

I tried that too.. with noresults - may be not doing it right.
Used Wugs Nexus Root Toolkit (which I find to be excellent along with instructions) and tried to use ES file explorer to manually copy/load apk - no success.
thank you for trying to help

At this point I'd make backups and flash a new ROM (stock or custom LTE). Something's been corrupted that isn't easily fixable, and you'll save time in the end by starting over from scratch.
I would agree that it sounds very much like something is corrupt in the ROM that you currently have; I would have a browse through the appropriate forums and find a new flavour of ROM to flash onto your device.
I have also heard great things about Wug's toolkit but have yet to use it myself.... about all I *need* to change on my N7 right now is root so that I can install a few choice apps that would not run otherwise, but don't want to wipe everything just for the sake of it
removed google+ from my account, solved.

for all its worth, I solved it by reflushing factory image and removing google plus entry from my google account. no issues now. thanks to all who helped!
If that is what worked, I am glad you have a working solution I can't take any credit for suggesting what you had probably tried anyway.....

fix for google play services not updating
Simply had to run the update from
the play store on the web
and click on installed, choose device and click install... voila
this pushed the update to the phone and the update happens
I took my GNex in the evening from the Assistance Center where they changed my broken MicroUSB port.
They flashed on it 4.0.4 ICS and they unlocked the bootloader.
I update the system with OTA to 4.3 stock.
In order to try the Xposed Framework I used the Toolkit to take root access.
Then, connecting my Google account, when Play Store started to install all of my apps it prompted out an infinite list of error:
first (403)
then (920)
Flashed two times 4.3 stock via Toolkit, locked and unlocked, rooted and unrooted but... nothing.
Also tried to delete my account, delete play store data, delete framework data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik... nothing works.
Phone is uselss in this way... so if anyone has figured out what to do, please let me know.

I seem to have the same problem. I can't update nor download apps from the play store because I keep getting 403 errors.
Everything was fine until I flashed CM REMIX rom. That's when I started getting the errors. However nobody is complaining about anything like this on their thread. I've also tried using different gapps packages.
Could it be a server side thing? My other devices seem to be working fine on the same network...

I saw on another android board that this is happening also on some brand new Nexus 5, activated just today.
Almost sure it's a server side thing at this point.

If it is, I hope it gets fixed soon, coz my phone barely has any apps right now...
If it's not a server thing I'll try to flash my old rom to see if it helps.

Since you are flashing the official 4.3 rom, I really think the problem will just go away by it self (hopefully very soon)
Edit: It started working now all by it self!

Just though you should know: droid-life.com/2014/02/11/psa-handful-of-android-device-owners-being-met-with-403-error-in-google-play
Alright, this is an interesting one.
So I was on CM 10.2 for the longest time, then I tried CM 11, then finally used SlimKat for a while. Everything was working pretty well on the 4.4 ROMs, except for occasional LTE drops where it just refused to go back to LTE.
Anyway... I decided to go back to a 4.3 ROM. I flashed SlimBean 4.3 first via TWRP. No issues on boot up, LTE works, IMEI intact, WiFi, data, all working. I'm also able to sign in to my Google account - but it only partially works (see screenshot). I also can't sign into any Google services... Play Store, Play Music, Ingress... I just keep getting the "problem communicating with Google servers" error.
Now, I've since tried CM 10.2 again and I've even Odin'ed back to TW 4.3 (MK5). I've fully wiped each time - including full data and sdcard wipe. Every single 4.3 ROM is giving the connection error. I tried going back to a KitKat ROM (CM11) - and it works! No sign in error!
Any ideas what could be causing this?
This same thing happened to me just last night on my Galaxy Nexus after attempting to go back to 4.2.2. The problem turned out to be something to do with 2-step verification. I went to accounts.google.com and disabled 2-step verification, deleted my account on my phone, rebooted, then added my account again and it worked as it was supposed to.

Wow, I owe you one. I would never have thought to try that... But that was indeed my problem. Thanks!
Edit: So after setting up my account on my phone, I then re-enabled 2-factor verification and the error comes back. Did you ever manage to re-enable 2-factor for you account and have it work on your non-KitKat phone?

I did re-enable it and it works, although I did change it from text message to google authenticator.
Hello,
I had to reflash CM 10.2.1-d2att after a failed OTA 4.4 update but I haven't been able to properly sync my Google account with 2-step auth enabled. Wiping and re-flashing new ROMs hasn't fixed anything so my temporary fix has been to disable the 2-step auth. I have tried switching code methods (from app to text message and back) but that hasn't worked. Syncing with password only then enabling 2-step also fails.
Any other suggestions?
