I wonder if the GUI format program formatted the wrong size in the choices. I forget what that choice was called. I just let it do its thing with all the default settings.
Yeah I'm getting huge result differences between runs. Don't know what to think now.
In settings check "use longer testing" to get normal results without caching

Sd card speeds are averages they will never be consistent, especially when testing in your phone as background apps could be using it while the test is running. To get the most accurate results its best to test them in a pc

That is understandable but seeing a huge rise in one benchmark and then a huge drop should not happen. They should be close.

Typically you see the big spikes while benching on the phone cuz something in the background starts reading or writing from the sd and takes priority over the benchmark app. If you test it in a pc it would be more consistent but still varying a bit. Theres just no real way to stop the phone from using the card to get an accurate test. Best way would be to do it on a cleanly installed rom with no 3rd party apps installed. It's just the way android works unfortunately if something needs to use the sd card it will automagically take priority over the benchmark and they will then be sharing the max r/w speeds. Say your max is 10mb/s and 2 apps are reading/writing those apps now each have a max of ~5mb/s, 3 apps running ~3mb/s and so on.
I like to break stuff!
How much are those 64GB anyways
besides that, I heard they have alot of problems with slow loading of the disk after boot or so? or just not loading at all
Thats just my say because i see alot of threads of that....
I want one because I have alot of music....
As long as you preformat it in fat32 before you put it in the phone, you should be okay. Haven't had any problems yet. Card scan at boot is faster than the previous card with the same data on it. I think I paid under 60 usd on amazon for it.
I got lucky and got my Ultra 64gb for like 35 from Bestbuy but they are normally pricey. I have never gotten the advertised 30mb read and write but it is way faster than a typical class 10

I picked it up a few minutes ago. Usually I'd wait for a sale in a few months, but I had overpaid my bill and had like a 30 dollar credit anyways, so I grabbed it.
Some are complaining about the download size, but for some reason it says 1.37 gig must be free in the market description, yet after installing and running for the first time, it only says it needs to download 748 mb. That's really not so bad, considering I'm going to delete MC2 and SD data if this one works well. It's only about 150 more mb on sd than MC2 was. Either way, I'll check back soon to let everybody know how it's working on the epic!

Check out the settings app for GTA 3, you can tweak the setting to get less lag
As to MC3, I was able to run it on my MTD Legendary 2.2 ROM without OCing with no lag.
Now the title is as what it seems.I've been posting a few threads now trying to prevent the games on my play from stuttering, which is a big problem right now as the framerate keeps dropping every few seconds.I've been given advice on unlocking my bootloader, using a SanDisk Class 4 memory card and even flashing a ROM..
What I want to know is that for those who aren't experiencing this, and their gaming experience is fine so far,to tell me which is the problem again here, the stock SD Card that I got from SE or the stock ROM and kernel, which I've already removed lots of bloatware?
Really need your help guys,I'm having no luck at all for 5 months straight now.

The Sandisk Class 4 32GB is the tested solution, a Class 6 may work as well, I don't know if better and very few if any have tested it, but DO NOT get a Class 10 as that is worse (for gaming).

From my understanding the inc2 and majority of today's "smartphones" can only access up to 32gb of external memory. I have yet to see a 64gb card installed in any phone.
I could be absolutely wrong in my assumption.

Did a quick research and found out that anything above 32gb would be classified as a SDXC card which would not be read by current smartphones.

plenty of music (32gb alone), movies, videos etc.... I have Google Music, but I would also like the option of not having to stream online to listen to my music.
Just installed the 64GB microSDXC card from SanDisk and it works just fine. Formatted the card in the phone and copied all my stuff (music, pictures, etc.) over. Only problem I've run into was Astro FC, but a quick reinstall fixed that. Sure is nice to have a room for more ROM backups now.

why wouldn't you want 128GB. if you're like me then you would want your phone to do whatever it is you need it for - whether it be watching movies, recording video, or playing games. Just as an example: if you enjoy playing "old school" games like NES or SNES games, then each SNES game alone is approximately the size of a standard mp3 and with hundreds of games - you could easily fill up a few gigs of space.
Music alone will be a storage hog and even movies. The average divx or .avi is about 700mb.
I can't believe some peoples mindset...
I mean sure if its not what you need look elsewhere but more storage space is never a bad thing, especially for the users that use their phone for more then just texting, calling, browsing youtube etc. This is a smartphone people and storage just like battery life can always be improved upon.

Plain and Simple. How Many apps do you have installed on your Phone, Not Including System Apps
Also If you Don't Mind Listing them.
One hundred something. I don't know the exact number off the top of my head. That's what I love about the S4...so much memory that you don't have to worry about running out of space unless you install a lot of games (which I don't). Apps2SD solves that problem, too.

I guess i keep some just to see if theres updates which will make them useful; such as google keep which is begging to be integrated with google now.
But i just found an app to help with that task
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cypressworks.changelogviewer
It lets you add apps to observe for updates without having to install them. Currently i only use it to get an overview of changes to my all my installed apps since the play store sucks for that. This app shows changelogs all on one screen. It's really well made

I have 1562 user apps backed up with Titanium Backup though. I restore apps as I need them, so depends on how long since i've flashed a new rom.
What's the point of having a phone with a ton of free space? It's just wasted potential to me.
