Looks realy promising, we got the same hardware, even better.

Does anyone have the MeeGo rom for HTC Desire ? i just saw a dutch site with a video with Desire running MeeGo
http://www.htcdesireblog.nl/video/htc-desire-draait-op-meego-rom/
afaik there isnt a single nokia out with meego OS on it, nor will it be this year
i seriously doubt thats meego running - more like some chinese copycat OS?
more info here: h ttp://wiki.meego.com/ARM/MSMQSD
Wow, looks just like an ugly custom themed android!
Has anyone tried this in person? Seems pretty slow atm, but I think Meego will turn out pretty awesome
Also, how do I install it? Just flash it?
Anybody working From XDA
After watching NOKIA N9 OS i desperately want that on my DESIRE
i found this Video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtnfHNjcdzg
any update what is working or not???
i was about to start new thread on XDA but someone has already made googling always help
but thats not the same OS running on the N9. the version shown in the video looks like an android clone. The N9 runs MeeGo "Harmattan" 1.2
would love to get it on my desire. or maybe I'm getting the N9, as I can pick a new phone by january
I wonder if meego can really run in Desire without any problems.
I would also want to try it on my Desire if it can run perfectly
I am planning to get a new phone in summer next year, I believe Desire has served me long enough till then (2 years) let see what I can find and afford at that time.
I think it'll run on a desire. The N9 is not a dual core monster and the OS doesnt look like its stuffed with too many things (unlike sense).
Looking forward to the release

meh, that meego thing looks really slow and poorly optimised.. can almost guarantee it would be really crap on the desire.. and wouldn't even come close to the versatility of android...

It is not about meego, WP7 or android...it is about the flashing addiction...perhaps we can flash meego too....LOL
Why do you need meego, when we got experienced developper porting and developping Sense 2.1 and 3.0 rom like InsertCoin for our Desire !
If you just want to flash to flash well...

Because MeeGo is more open source than Android in several aspects. MeeGo is more like a typical linux distribution, without dalvik or that ****s. MeeGo can run Linux and Android application with minimal efforts, and of course, it's uses gnome libs and QT on Top to provide a very nicely user experience... Android is based on linux, but it took a different way, too different, and I think it is a wrong desicion.
I have to admit I really like Meego, but still prefer Android. And on Desire? No way..
how to flash it?
where i can fine meego image and for comile kernel desire for support desire ?
http://wiki.meego.com/ARM/MSMQSD#HTC_Desire
Very early , nothing works yet not even touchscreen, plus I think you'll have to compile the kernel yourself

Hi,
I once saw a thread like this before, but as nothing continued on that thread, I think perhaps someone can work on this? I saw Shaky said he will drop in, and I understand he is busy with his kernel 3 project, but porting an awesome rom from a quad-core Meizu MX to our Desire will be, great, though they are quantum far from each other. This thing has got beautiful unique UI (Not sure of the performance) so if anyone can, please.
Will the new Ubuntu phone be coming to DHD?
nope, at least not officially. Ubuntu say that the phone has to have at least 4 GB internal memory and two-core CPU. DHD has only one core and 1.5GB internal memory. Requirements are quite high but considering the advantages the system gives it is a fair price
Maybe a light version as dhd doesn't meet Ubuntu high end requirement's.
Entry version requires 4GB eMMC, high-end version at least 8GB. It's weird because these version only differ in desktop capability.
Might be time to get a new phone as Ubuntu sounds like it is going to be awesome

Y U NO STICK WITH DHD?!
What Glevitan said, the DHD doesn't meet the minimum requirements. But I'm sure the talented Dev's here will come up with something
I'd be happy to at least try to see if Ubuntu runs on the DHD. I still have MIUI Android on mine and it's lovely and smooth. Ubuntu will probably look very nice but I doubt if it's possible to have a groundbreaking UI experience nowadays, especially for those of us who have tried many types of ROMs and launchers, etc. I'm looking forward to seeing it in action all the same. Maybe we can dual or tri-boot with it on future devices.
Oh, cool. thx. Can't wait to try Ubuntu. Maybe I should get a second hand nexus....
I want this also, Nokia920 turning up soon but I want something new to play with.
It seems that developers are hard at work porting Ubuntu Touch to 20+ smartphones and tablets.
The Galaxy S series is included in that "list" although it's unclear if the U.S variants are included.
Keep on the look out for Ubuntu Touch coming to a Android device near you!

Here is the devices in the works list if anyone is interested.
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Devices#Work_in_progress
Art least with an international version in the works, it should be a easy port to the E4GT. Hopefully.
I'm really surprised no one has attempted this yet. Because I'm seeing CDMA phones running it.
My only guess is our kernel setup is what's stopping it.

This would definitely be interesting, I'll have to look into this...
would like to see this happen, as i really want an alternative...even if its just to play with
ubuntu is a great operating system for a beginner
Will a port of the Ubuntu 13.x Touch rom (Nexus/Ubuntu Edge) ever be in the future?
I mean are there any developers around willing to port it?
Ubuntu Touch seems really cool and fast with functions to use your phone as a full desktop pc.
I would really love to see this working on S4 Mini (hoping 1.5GB Ram is enough to run Ubuntu in first place)
I hope Acro68 will look at it after his CM project.
Ignore this post.
