Wifi Calling Randomly Hangs Up - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hello Everyone,
I use wifi calling at home because t-Mobile's signal is weak. My S3 is currently running Darthstalker version X and is on Baseband t999uvdlc. When receiving or placing calls using wifi calling, the phone just randomly hangs up. It is still in range for excellent wifi signal and I have attempted both 2.4 and 5.0 ghz frequencies - both have the "random hang up" problem. Does anyone know a fix for this? Wifi calling seems to work perfectly on my Galaxy Note II - it is just the S3 that has the problem .
Thanks in advance!

Have you tried it on other ROMs?

Yes. It seems to happen on all the ROMS I tried. I think it was also happening on stock but can't remember.

[Issue] wifi & dun tethering is unstable

Not sure if this is carrier issue or GNex's issue...
When either wifi or Bluetooth dun tethering, connection is unstable. It would work for couple minutes (maybe 3~5), then lose connection. After couple more minutes, it reconnects again.
Anybody have this issue?

This is a really old thread, but I have the same issue on mine. I'm in Asia using the unlocked GSM Galaxy Nexus, so it doesn't look like a carrier issue.
I haven't tested Bluetooth tethering extensively, but WiFi hotspot is crazy unstable. It has become a big issue for me. I connect to the hotspot on my laptop, but it stops working after a few minutes to an hour. I have to restart WiFi on my laptop and try again until I get a stable connection. I can connect to friends' iPhones with no problems, so again, it doesn't seem like a carrier issue.
I've changed both radios and ROMs, but the problem persists regardless. I'm currently on the latest AOKP (4.0.3), but I had the same issue on Android Revolution (4.0.2). Also, the issue seems to be present while tethering both through the built-in hotspot function in Settings and the WiFi Tether for Root app.
This is quite a frustrating problem. Hell, it's such a big issue for me that I'm even considering jumping back to an iPhone. Any insight or alternative hotspot app suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
same issue......always had unstable wifi tether....
Wifi tether has been stable for me on 4.0.2 stock. Bluetooth to my late 2008 MacBookPro is hit or miss though. Sometimes it'll go for hours and others it drop every 5min... regardless of signal quality.

[Q] Wifi Calling Stuck on Enabling??

Hey everyone. I just updated my T989 to the stock jellybean 4.1.2
I have the new sim card TM9177. However wifi calling doesn't seem to work. When I turn it on it just says stuck on enabling. I already setup the 911 address and I know it works because it was working in gingerbread. Anyone know why the wifi calling just stopped working?

Report this issue in the ROM thread. People will be able to help you better there. A clean flash should do you some good.

I was having issues with my WIFI also. It wouldn't connect on 2.4 GHz but would on 5 GHz. The performance wasn't great and I would get the connection isn't stable message a lot. I tried a bunch of things on my router and finally just did a factory reset on the router. I can now connect of both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. My connection speed has also improved dramatically. I didn't think it was a router issue since the Note 3 WIFI issues are pretty well known to be a problem. In my case, doing a factory reset on the router helped my problem a lot. For reference it is an ASUS RT-AC66R
I used the app WIFI Analyzer from the play store to monitor the signal strengths. Since doing the factory reset on the router, I only see the connection is unstable message very rarely.

I had same issues I thought phone was junk but it was my router. So I upgraded and set my Wi-Fi channel manually and not I am without Wi-Fi issues

You can turn off the option in the wifi settings that lets the phone auto disconnect from wifi if it thinks the wifi signal is weak or unstable. I sit 10 feet from my wifi router and it used to go back to the cell signal randomly. I disabled the auto switch option and no issue since. My wifi at home is very strong so I think its a bugged setting or something.
"Your network connection is unstable, so we in our smart thoughts have decided to disable it. Kiss my Gritts ". Ho Hummmmm
click dont show this option again
Wifi
If you are sure your WiFi is good, then go to WiFi settings,
1) Switch OFF Auto network switch
2) Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep: Always
This is a known bug that tmobile had ignored from the beginning. ... all note 3 phones had it. ..tmobile is the only one left with it. ..

Man, wish I had known about this... My Nexus 5 and 7 (and office iPhone 5S) all have excellent Wifi connection at my home.
I bought Note 3 to use the Wi-Fi calling feature and this caused me to missed multiple phone calls. Apparently, when the Note 3 is on Wi-Fi calling, it sorts of "disable" or reduce the cellular radio signal - zero bar shown on my Note 3 - all calls and SMS go through Wi-Fi. When the Wi-fi drop, it takes sometimes for the Note to establish cellular connection and that's when I missed the call.
Not to mention I am browsing happily or streaming Netflix and BAM.. wi-fi dropped and everything stopped.
If the Kit Kat upgrade fixes this issue AND not bring anymore problem (as evident from numerous threads), I would have upgraded to Kit Kat already.
Dammit, over the course of browsing for an hour, the wi-fi disconnect over 5 times.
What the hell!?

Data speeds decrease while using bluetooth

I searched and found no other person mention my issue on our forum.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51208850
Tried stock T-Mobile 4.4.2, tried every T-Mobile ROM, and every aosp all give me the same result as when i noticed it using X-note.
Is it just my phone that's got issues or does nobody else notice Wi-Fi or LTE speeds getting slashed while using Bluetooth?
Can someone let me know if this is isolated to my phone or other T-Mobile note 3 on 4.4.2?

I have bluetooth enabled all day - with galaxy gear watch connected. Never had an issue with speeds.
Are you on bluetooth with a phone call? Because if you are, your speeds drop to 4G and not LTE.
It's not during a call. It still shows up as LTE or 3G or 2G or Wi-Fi. It simply take whatever speed those normally provide and chops 85% off. I can see the signals all remain the exact same the download speed is the only difference. I'm speaking about while using a Bluetooth speaker or headphone during playback of music already on my phone. If I stop or pause the music it goes right back to normal until I hit play again. This is only an issue for me when downloading large files it just takes 10 times longer than normal.

I just run both WiFi and LTE speed tests with BT headphones playing song and no BT, no speed differences to speak of, is this only KK thing or is there other reason I don't experience this slowdown since I'm on 4.3 rooted?

Mobile Data disconnects on Phone Call

When this phone was in USA I also faced this problem now it is in India facing the same problem.
Whenever I get voice phone call my Mobile Data disconnects.
What could be the issue?
Now using Custom ROM + Custom Kernel but still issue persist.
What do I do?
If you mean lte drops, that because you're in an area that doesn't support voice over lte (volte).
If should drop back to HSPA/HSPA+ or 3g if that's not available. If it's completely disconnecting, then something is wrong, but what that would be is beyond me.

I don't have LTE network in India.
It is 3G.
It completely disconnects mobile data.
Same happening with another N900T Note 3.
