The latest version implemented fast charge something to try.
If you just flashed it you will go through your battery considerably faster until you do a full charge.
Besides battery usage is dependant on each phone and individual user.

Flash KTweaker kernel the same way you flashed your ROM through recovery. Just be sure to read a lot before you start messing with voltage and what not!

Edit: Tasks underwear kernel is working fine for me tho! If you don't feel comfortable flashing KT just let the battery fully charge without break then fully discharge a couple times. That seemed to help me!

What sort of battery drain are you seeing? Curious as I used to use Task's ROM as well and never did get the same battery life as others were reporting...I know everyone uses their phones differently and have different app, but even with limited apps and usage, never really got great battery life.

Ok so far i have left the wifi and internet off and the battery is hardly at 80% since 8am. Huge difference!
But as soon as I turn it on either 4g or wifi it drains very quick.

4G is one of the known biggest battery drainers. This isn't just for my rom. It's for all roms on all devices. Battery life is also users dependent. There are so many variables like location, apps, settings, the way you use your phone, ect... the list can go on and on. With that said. I always get around 22-25 hours and 3-4 hours screen on time on a single charge. That can vary depending upon my usage.

3 reasons: You either have Google Now setup, You sync too much stuff and/or you have location access/GPS turned on.
And as Task mentioned, 4G is a big battery drain. If you feel it's too high, drop to 3G/H while you don't need high internet speed.

Ok I checked and I made sure to always kill all running apps.
Definitely the wifi and the 4g drain battery to quick, very quick.
But what really pisses me more than all is how slow it takes to recharge...
I tried FAST CHARGE but all that do is to charge from usb ports like if it was your wall electricity socket.
The only option i have left is the Kernel you guys keep suggesting.

Solved the problem at least for charging.
I bought an used Galaxy s3 and apparently the guy kept the original charger or lost it and the one I was using wasn't good at all.
So I had another charger of the HTC one x and this one works perfectly!
But still, now I need to find out why it drains battery so quick when I'm on wither 4g or wifi.
Does the Kernel do that much difference?
Well if that is a yes then I have a few questions:
Do I have to wipe my memory so I must do another back up?
Will this Kernel be compatible with Galaxy s3 i747?
Any step by step guide that I can do this easily without any warning or danger?
Link please?
Thanks.

All you need to do is read the OP of the kernel thread that you want to flash. That would be your step by step. 4G will always be a battery drainer. There's nothing you can do about it.

I also run task 650 but I don't believe that the slow charge is ROM related. My phone seems to take forever to charge since I upgraded to jb. I'm thinking there was an issue with my battery because my wife's gs3 charges much faster. Only way I was able to work around this was to charge while powered off. This happened on every ROM I have flashed in the last couple of months whether aosp or twiz.

I get phenomenal battery life out of my S3 (stock).
I had an Epic 4G and was afraid to leave my desk because of the battery drain. With moderate usage (30-60 mins talk time, texting, chat, some web, exchange, ect) I can easily get 16-20 hours. Signal quality in your area will impact it more than anything. Also, wifi is vastly easier on the battery.
PS Facebook app SUCKS. Just bookmark the webpage and use that. Works better and doesn't ruin your phone.

Post a screen shot and I'll tell ya what could be happening.
You can improve battery life by switching to custom roms with less bloatware, and updating to more efficient kernels. (This is on a Rom/Kernel level)
Software wise, just figure out what apps are causing wake times and try not to use them. Basically whenever an app/widget refreshes/updates content, it may cause phone to wake (like weather/clock widgets for example).
I have been using cpusleep and it seems to have helped my battery life ... also using a custom rom without the bloatware is key for me.
my current setup is freegs3 release 6 with the latest trinity kernel...even though its overclocked my battery has been amazing and phone has worked flawless.
Im also using system tuner which has given me the ability to manage the cpu with on demand and other customizable settings
The only thing I synch is my k9 mail account
I also have frozen several samsung apps which helped...
Im now getting over 20 hours of basic use between charges...I dont use games/videos so might be a little skewed . I use this phone for business calls/internet/messaging/photos/navi...pretty basic

Need battery tips for 6+ hrs screen time

Hi guys using wicked with trinity 7b. See a few people posting 2 days on one charge and over 6 hours screen time. Would like to know how as i cannot get anywhere near that. I use system tuner, odex my Rom and kill my tasks whenever possible. I use lh2 modem.

Looking for details. I'm not a noob

They are not using the stock battery. If you want battery like that, buy an extended battery. That is the only answer.
What I find most telling in many of these screen shots is that Device Idle and Cell Standby are almost always in the top.

Cell standby is actually lying. It was coded with a decimal in the wrong place and so it shows that it uses a lot more than it actually does. Purely cosmetic really, but can be annoying when testing battery issues.
Edit: many custom roms have corrected this btw.

Ya, I saw that before. There is a zip floating around here somewhere that moves it from .34 to 3.4 and fixes it. But you're right that most custom ROMs have this (Cell Standby) fixed.
I just mainly think that Device Idle even being in the top 3 or 4 is a very telling sign that the phone is not being used very much.
Install the easy battery saver app.
I hate to be the jerk... but OP has spammed every rom thread nearly bugging about screen time. Nowadays its hard to get 6+ hours of screen time. Maybe switch to an older, dumber phone with not as sexy as display and you will have better luck. Or carry a spare battery... or strategically place chargers in common spots.

T-Mo Note II Battery Life Thread: Post Screenies!

Figured I start a thread specifically for the T-Mobile variant. I will say that I'm pretty pleased with the battery life thus far. I hated having to give up the ease of some functionality just so my Samsung OG Epic 4G could make it through the day. Meaning, turning off bluetooth, live wallpaper, wifi, etc.
I feel like I haven't had to do that even though there is a battery saver mode already. I'm currently sitting at 54% and it's been a day since taking it off the charger.
I currently have all the bells and whistles going. Live wallpaper and facial recognition to unlock. S-Pen detection and the whole 9. Anyhow, just wanted to see what everyone else is getting.
I'd be happy with 6 hours screen on time
i had the galaxy s3 before the note 2 and i have noticed huge battery improvements
I was briefly reading through the manual and saw this:
Do not wait until your battery is completely depleted before
charging your device. Repeating this process of a complete
discharge and recharge can over time reduce the storage
capacity of any battery.
Pg 15
just thought I'd pass it along. I usually run my battery all the way down and let it die before recharging:

I can only use my phone for around 5hours on time until she dies. This is super annoying because of school it dies before lunch :/. I always leave data on, yes. ROM: Jedi jelly 4, I believe that its insecure kernel because idk any other tw jb kernels. Also on the lb7 blaze radio but I constantly switch those up when I get frustrated with battery. Read my reply to the post here. It's an optional and known way of saving battery life for almost any Android phone and help prevent any overheating that you may experience with the phone.
Is your GPS on all the time? Account sync? Settings and data backup? Auto brightness or manual?
Always let the phone drain to 10% or less then fully charge it uninterruped, meaning dont unplug it.
CPU management always helps, especially with screen off. Also use wifi instead of data if avail at school or anywhere else for that matter

I'm betting its the battery. Place it on a flat surface. If it doesn't lay flat and it has a bulge that causes it to bounce around, your batteries screwed.

Got gsam, have ran it for a day. 100% at 6:00 am, 31% at 3:57 pm. This normal ? I flashed back to stock koodo everything , so is this just the quality of the phone? Yes, GPS is always on. Data is normally left on, although I do turn off WiFi from time to time. I used to have a nexus s and the battery would last for days, yet it's smaller and I never had to turn off things. I even get battery drain like this on cm based ROMs ?!

I went from Jedi Knight 6 to Jedi Jelly 4 two days ago and the Rom is super fast and snappy. Very little lag and no issues with fc so far. I do have a little bit of a battery issue myself. When I use the phone for anything I can sit there for an hour and watch the phone dip to below 80% after a full charge. It seems to eat battery when in use but overnight I get almost 14 hours of left untouched. I would like to get at least 8 hours with medium to heavy use. Is that a reasonable number? I have gone through three battery cycles so far.

I recently bought a GSM galaxy nexus (NTT DoCoMo version) and I use it on T-Mobile's prepaid network. The original battery that it came with was terrible.. Literally only lasted 7 hours regardless of screen on time. So I bought a stock Samsung battery off eBay thinking maybe it was a bad battery. No help whatsoever. I've flashed different ROMs, radios, and different kernels. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on? I had a Sprint Galaxy Nexus and I could get up to a day on the battery with 2.5 hours of screen on time so I know the Galaxy Nexus can last a long time. What's the deal?

What is the 'Battery' menu under Settings telling you?

Could you post some info on battery drain statistics from battery settings tab or preferably gsam monitor over a full drain? I could probably help you out, just need some more info. Also try flashing fancy kernel if you haven't already. This is a newer kernel that gives the best battery life you'll find freshly flashed.
Before discharging toget battery stats I would try charging to 100% and using "battery calibration" by NeMa to clean your phone's batterystats file and then drain to zero with a screen flashlight or running gallery slideshow. This can always be a problem no matter how healthy your battery is.

This is what I have showing for my battery so far. I flashed the newest radio last night and that seems to have helped a little bit with the battery. I have tried the battery calibration and it didn't really seem to help much.

I have flashed a stock 4.2.2 ROM a week or so ago and I was still having this issue. I bought a new battery too and its still happening. Flashed the fancy kernel today and it seems to be helping a lot actually.

The stock kernel performs way better then what you are experiencing. A custom kernel may help a bit, but it's not magic. I'd recommend using the app BetterBatteryStats in order to find out what's going on.
Do any of you think that me restoring apps would have anything to do with the battery drain? I'm not seeing anything out of the ordinary in the GSAM battery stats but the battery drains way too quickly. 10% per hour even when I'm not using it..

Glad to hear that fancy kernel is helping. It's probably the closest thing to magic you'll find. I agree that 1 hour of screen time and under 12 hours is under par, but I was having these same issues 2 months ago and could not believe how crappy battery life was. It really got better though trying a bunch of different radios to find the right ones, using minimal gapps/resource hogging apps as possible, finding the right build.prop tweaks to use, and most helpful flashing some good reliable kernels like fancy and AK/anarkia that have incredibly useful customizations that stock just doesn't have, I.e., contrast and color settings, battery friendly governors and frequency profiles, optimized smart-reflex, and custom regulator voltages for display.
Well, didn't feel like it lasted too long. Fell asleep with my battery at 33%, woke up 3 hours later and it's dead. I'm ready to throw this phone out the window.

100% no data connection and 100% no or unknown signal. I have almost full bars. WHAT THE HELL

Battery App
I've tried to find a rom and kerneI that would help with battery too, nothing made that much of a difference though. I use the 2x battery saver app now. I get at least double the battery life sometimes more.

I see you got the app. Good. Now a few minutes isn't enough time to gather reliable stats. Review the results after a full drain cycle of the battery. Check partial wakelocks and alarms for suspicious activity.

Here's what was listed on BBS after a full drain. Do you see anything unusual? I turned my data on and kept it on 2G to prevent the no or unknown signal from eating more battery but that was the only change. Battery life still looks terrible.

I'm missing screenshots of partial wakelocks and alarms.

No need for the snake oil app, as simply unplugging the phone after a full charge wipes battery stats. Wiping battery stats and draining to zero aren't going to have any bearing whatsoever on this issue and would needlessly shorten the battery's serviceable lifespan.

Whoops.. I forgot to screenshot those. I'll get those later today. So I put my phone in airplane mode to see if maybe it was the reception... Phone kept draining. I will try to wipe everything off the phone later and not install any apps and see if that helps.

According to these stats, it looks like Google talk and the calendar are my biggest wake locks? I disabled Google talk, turned off location history for Google maps last night, what should I do about the calendar? I feel like my phone is becoming useless because I have disabled so many things.

Forgot to add these, if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
