ok so i pt them on the laptop via wifi transfer pro and now i want them back , the problem is , is my sis laptop and i am not allowed to install sdk or anything like this.. is there anyway else to move them back to my nexus in the same folder from where i extracted them...
any help will be greatly appreciated
You could move them back to your sdcard, and if the phone is rooted, then move them into the correct folder [probably under data/media] and verify permissions and change ownership.
thanx dude... will do that , if something wrong happens will post back

This just happened out of the blue? Had you downloaded and installed any new apps or anything like that? Were you making any changes or doing anything out of the ordinary when it happened? I've never heard of that before, and it's rather odd. Have you tried deleting the .lnk extensions from the files to see if you can still access them by deleting the extension?

WELL I REMEMBER SWITCHING TO A NEW ROM AND TRYING TO USE A NEW FORMAT ALL ZIP , THEN WHEN I FINALLY BOOTED INTO THE ROM ALL WAS OK BUT WHEN I WENT TO TRANSFER NEW FILES FROM MY PC TO MY SD CARD I FOUND ALL MY FOLDERS HAD THAT .lnk extension at the end .. i was like wtf ??? then i noticed i can acess all my files from with in the phone but not through my computer .. and when i connect to my pc a pop up pops up and says virus detected on sd drive. thats why i think its a virus but i dont understand how to fix it i dont wanna loose myy daughters pics.. everything else i dont care to loose
man what a bummer, now have you tried downloading the free lookout or avg from the market and checked your phone for viruses, see if they find any. if not have you tried to disable your antivirus in your computer and try to open the sd files then. if you can create a restore point in your computer before you disable the antivirus, to do this just click on start menu and on the black search space at the bottom type system restore and it will take you to where you can create a system restore in case there really was a virus
This may be a stupid question but can you just rename them? I mean erase the extension or something? I know on some of my hidden files that's all it does is rename the extra at the end. If I change it I can see the file.
Edit: Just re-read buckleys advice and it was the same thing. Sorry.

Hello i have need from someone who want to make me a favor and help me.
Im ex Blackstone user and i move to Android.
I did some updates etc and i lost all my contacts from the SIM card and everything.
THe good news is that i still have on my PC a PIMbackup.pib file but its made like binary one..
There is a chance to get my contacts back!!!
WHat i need is someone with WinMo device can do it for one minute.
Just to run Pimbackup on his own Device and to restore the Contacts from the .PIB file i will provide
After this is done just re Backup them again BUT in normal mode without binary etc
in this case the final .pib file will be able to transfer it to a zip .csv file and Put all the contacts back in my SIM card via Gmail
So if somene want to help me will be really thankfull for that its emergency.
The other variant if someone do not want to use HIS device is to do the same procedure with a Windows Mobile Emulator but i don`t know how to work with this and make it to work on my desktop PC i already try several hours to set up everything but just not working
Thanks in advance
Hi
Try rename pib file to zip and open with winrar.
Hi. I just switched from 1 custom 4.3 rom to a different one and i did a factory reset. However once i rebooted, i noticed that all my internal SD content had gone into 0/0/0/0 etc. i kept clicking but eventually file explorer on widows just froze.
I went into ES file explorer on my phone and saw the content was behind 400 0's!!!!
Anyone have any idea what i could do to recover that info? every time i try copying the files ES explorer either crashes or says that it had copied the files when it hadnt.
Any help would be greatly apreciated. I'm at my wits end... :crying:
Thanks
Bro you need to use a file explorer from recovery. TWRP custom recovery has a built-in file explorer. That should do the trick

Also, you should update your recovery as the more recent versions have fixed that problem. It doesn't happen each time you flash with the new versions.

Yep I figured that out the hard way lol. Already upgraded to the latest version of CWM to prevent it from happening anymore. Now to get the files out from down there... :banghead:

On Windoz, You could troll and copy out every 10 deep or 20 deep back to surface and then continue. That'd be better than crashing Explorer.
Dos Prompt is more rugged. You could write a batch script there.

I saw that somewhere and tried that. Doesnt seem to be having any effect. Unless im doing it wrong...
I'm plugging my phone into my computer, accessing the phone section when it comes up, going about 20 0s deep and copying it back to the root. It either crashes my windows explorer, or doesnt seem to be doing anything(i think because its already disconnected itself. i tried making a new folder and it wouldn't let). what am i doing wrong?
PS. how would i access my phones internal SD from DOS?
thanks
Try ADB FileExplorer that should not time out on Windows. I have also tried Android File Manager with success. If that does not work, I will look up other options.
Well i tried android file manager. Im not 100% sure exactly how these programs work, but either way its saying i dont have root access. I do and i also have chainfires adbd insecure app which should give me full root access, but its still not working.
I looked at ADB FileExplorer too, but i didnt really get it and it kept saying it couldnt find my phone and something about an incorrect path.
With the Android File Manager, when it accesses the Phone over ADB, it will ask for Root once. If you don't click SuperSU warning in that time, the File Manager will give this error. Please read its thread carefully. I have connected over ADBWIRELESS and this just fine.

It never asked for root on my phone. I've tried all the changes and everything else that people have recommended, but im still not having any luck. I guess im too much of a noob for all this lol :crying:
Try Re-mounting internal SD in Recovery and then connect to PC.
nope, still no luck. Its still saying no root and no supersu request is coming up. I guess im missing something....
EDIT: I seem to somehow be "losing" root every time i try to connect to the android file manager. i open an app that requires root and it says i dont have root. I have to reboot my phone to get root to work again. It's weird though, because SuperSU opens fine...
open the last "zero" folder on your computer, drag everything into a folder on your computer desktop, let everything copy (do something else in the mean time), delete your phone memory, copy everything back to your cleared phone memory card

If only it was that easy. its behind 400 nested folders. Windows cant go that deep. it freezes and FC's after about 200.
Im giving my phone in to get my power button repaired, so i guess ill ask the software tech there if he can figure it out. But thank you Perseus for all your help last night. :good:
I also have this problem guys, how do i update my custom recovery please?
Newbie question, forgive me if it's dumb. I have a Galaxy Tab T310 that I just rooted because I wanted to be able to get around the SD card write issue. BUT, the real problem I have is that I want to simply copy movies from my desktop to the Tab via a USB cable but the Tab keeps erasing the files. It doesn't erase the directories I create on the SD, it just erases the files IN the directories and often the subdirectories. Sometimes it erases them as soon as I copy new files to the SD, sometimes when I reboot the phone. But it always erases them.
I'm assuming this is related to the Android security effort to "protect me," but I don't know how to keep it from happening. Will one of the root apps like SDFix keep this from happening? Again, I'm not talking about apps being able to write files to the SD, I'm just talking about me being able to write files to the SD using a cable and then KEEPING the files from being erased by the Tab. Thanks for the help!
Auto-delete files
Can anyone point me toward another forum where I might find an answer to this question? I thought this would be the best place but apparently I am the only person who has ever seen this problem. This makes me wonder whether there is another problem with the tablet....

You might try downloading an SD Card Fix app from the Play store. There are several of them. KK messed up the ability to copy to the Ext SD card.
If you're rooted, then download ES File explorer app. Run it and hit your menu button. Scroll down the menu and make sure Root Explorer is checked.
That's all I can think of that might help
Hello,
I have an "lg g3 beat".
after a few months of regular use i got the "insufficient storage available" message.
I tried deleting all my watsapp data all the cache with ccleaner, deleting all apps i can, moving everything i can to the sd card, but still i am only left with 300+ mb of free space. :crying:
I noticed the "misc" is taking 6 gb of the 8 gb i have in the phone. so looking at that i got to the "storage\emulated\0\.temp_tmp" folder on the phone it takes 2.5+ gb of space.
is it safe to delete?
on my galaxy i could go to the secret menu (*#990#) and clear dumpstate, this dosent work here, is there an alternative?
please help me! i am desperate! :crying::crying::crying:
thanks in advance.
no one?
Are u rooted
not rooted, stocked
Of coarse if u root u can. Use a root file explorer to delete it i dont know ure root method i have a reg g3 but shouldnt be hard to find
I am pretty sure i can delete it, since i can access it trough windows explorer.
My question is: what is this folder for, is it something important or is it safe to delete?
thanks for the replay,
If im not mistaken most of its like old log data stuff like thT if ure not rooted u shouldnt be able to delete any thing that would harm the device
move them and see how your phone reacts. if something major happens then move them back.
Im currently having the same issue with storage space yet no one is coming forward with a solution. mine is also stock.
You say these temp files are the cause of the large misc storage problem then Ill do the same and look to delete them.
In my phone they take almost 3 GB of space (from a 8 GB phone) that's a lot!
ill try it in the evening and report back,
thank you
Took me a while to gather up my courage, but finally did it!
No side effects, just free 3 GB of space.
i recommend doing too

Now where and how did u delete them
i connected the device to my PC as a storage device.
And "cut" the files to my PC as backup in case it brakes anything.
