[Q] audio jack/headphone problem - HTC One X

I have a problem with my audio jack, it will not find headphones and if it finds one it will give several problems, or it will disconnect so i have to replug it, or it the headphone sign in the statusbar changes to a headphone with microfone and it stops the music and starts calling the last person i have called or i have been called. Or the music will play but it will randomly play other songs etc, can anyone help me or is this a problem with the audiojack and do i news to send it back to HTC to repair it?

Does the problem happen with all headphones?
And the headphones that you do use, do they have buttons on them from which you can change song, pick up calls etc?

Yes, happens with all of them even normal speakers, soms less than others. Tried 5 different ones

Do they have headset buttons?

One of them has, same problem as the others that dont

Umm, contact HTC and see what they say, avoid going to a repair shop as they don't always know what they are doing.
Sorry about that

Music changes by itself?

Recently i've bought my new earbuds (philips) though they don't have any "control" option where you can track skip and stuff like that but my phone changes music track by itself. I have tried changing roms (sense to miui) and changed music players as well but it's the same.
DO you think it is a problem of phone or my headphones. I mean the same thing happened when i was listening to radio, the tracks started changing all of a sudden. Also my headphones seem to be fine when they're connected to my laptop.
Any ideas?
Sometimes regular headphones cause problems with the phone due to incorrect contacts in the 3.5mm connector.
Search google play for "headset blocker" it'll do the job

Ok, it's not working for me lol, it doesn't matter whether it is enabled or disabled, it just doesn't work and the music changes by itself all the time sometimes very fast sometimes in the middle of the song.
Any other tip?

Had the same problem, especially in ics. Anyone a solution?

You should try to clean the phones jack. I had a lot of dust there and it caused just that same issue.

ok so i've cleaned it properly (with a cotton bud, stuck inside) and there seemed to be some dust but it still doesn't solve the problem :/
btw, the ear buds i'm using, they have 2 strips on the jack, instead of 3 from the official earphones.

I found that I need to reboot for the change to take effect.
With that app headset blocker.
While the headphone is jacked in the phone, enable the headset blocker.
Because that's the way I do it and it seems to fix my random music skip/pause problems.
Headset blocked worked in every gingerbread roms. Sense(coredroid, arhd, runny Droid and more) and so with cm7 roms (absolution, black ice). Only rom that didn't work on was ICS, because ICS is still being developed.

I'm using miui and it doesn't seem to fix the problem at all. What works for me is when i pull the headphones out a bit but whenever i put it in my pocket it goes back to the same position and the problem occurs. I'll try to flash another (GB) rom and see if headset blocker would work.
Other tips are welcome and very much appreciated. Thanks
I have been getting that problem for the past few weeks... I want to know if the prob is in my phone or somewhere else... Btw my phone is alcatel one touch idol alpha

Anyone experience a popping sound?

Hello, does anyone experience a popping sound when they listen to music or watch videos? It's been happening to me quite frequently, and it seems to happen quite randomly. It also seems to 'pop' when i press the volume down or volume up buttons while watching a video or listening to music.
Anyone else experiencing this? I've determined it's not a problem with the video since I don't get any popping sound when I watch the exact same video on my laptop, and the popping sound doesn't happen at a fixed interval or anything. It also isn't a problem with my earphones as I've tried using the one supplied by HTC as well.
Any help please?
From memory I had this when playing around with dsp manager

I've had this once while browsing YouTube, don't know what caused it but it was annoying.
I rebooted my phone and its not happened since

All the time. I've got a Desire S with Sense 3.5 and that pop's as well.
Wow okay that sucks. Shall try turning off Beats Audio to see if it changes things. Or could it be an inherent HTC problem? Hmm.

[Q] Headset button/plug events firing randomly

I'm having issues on my One X with headset events firing randomly, causing music to start playing at random times even when the headset is not plugged in. I'm using the CM10 nightlies, but I have been unable to find any controls for headset functions except in PowerAmp, so I installed Headset Droid which wasnt very helpful in diagnosing or blocking the events.
The music issue occurs with Apollo and with PowerAmp. The only solution I've found is to use PowerAmp and completely disable responding to headset events at all, but then i cant skip tracks, answer calls or use google now.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any solution? Is it a known issue with the One X?
I used power amp on my HTC dhd and it messed with the volume controls after I uninstalled it and used the stock music app I had to install it again and change the headset button actions to default. You shouldn't use poweramp I just haven't had a good experience.

Headphones and speaker play at same time

So today I at work and my boss walks over and ask me to turn down my music..... I had my headphones in and did not have it up very loud.
Several min later I get a phone call, a few min in he walks over and asked if I was on a personal call. I said no and the person continued to talk, what I didn't know was all the sound coming through the headphones was also being played on my phone speaker.
No looked it up and many people have the notifications sound problem, but couldn't find one that really had the same problem as me.
No matter what watch on YouTube or listen to in my music player the phone will play the sound on both headphones and speaker.
Any help with this problem guys?

Who's rom are you using? Also try a different pair of headphones. If the jack on your headphones is bent or not connecting correctly it will cause that to happen.
That happens when the headphone jack is not pushed all the way down!

I think you might also want to be sure the Phone is not in "Driving Mode"...
I just had the same problem. I was listening to Google music for a few hours no problem, but one track decided to play threw the speaker and not the headphones. Not sure what happened, I skipped the track and all was good again.

That has happen to me recently, it varies at one point it was when I was using YouTube but it left after I kept plugging headphone jack out and in a couple times try that.

Funny, when I play games and have music playing at the same time I have the same thing happen. Perhaps the next update in May will fix this?

[Q] Bluetooth audio skips/stutters

Hi! I wanted to post about an issue with bluetooth audio i've had since ever, but now i'm using it a lot so i want to try and solve it. I used to use stock and just converted to GPE. In both cases, the same problem happens: When i connect my phone to my car speakers through bluetooth, every song stutters for a second or two, sometimes several times in the same song. By searching on the forum the only tip i found was change the read ahead value. I tried a bunch of higher values, none of them worked.
I can say that the car bluetooth works fine with an iphone, so i have no reasons to blame it on the car audio.
And of course, there's no problem when i'm playing through the phone's speakers or headphones.
UPDATE: Forgot, something else happens with music: Sometimes it sorts of goes into a higher pitch, like a higher tone or something. And makes music sound weird. this happens occasionally as well.
Thanks in advance for the help
Mine does this too, with calls as well. Very frustrating....

Yeah, i know it's awful. And i'm sure my car is fine, an iphone worked fined with it.
So i guess no one really knows anything on how to fix this. :c
