Currently have a stock deodexed LJC rom by Team Venum(great job btw) and just wanted to upgrade to MA7 because of the annoying notification. I've tried several MA7 clockworkmod installs, with full wipes, and the MA7 all-in-one modems etc installed. Each time I run into an auto-reboot after the PRL/activation services but the ROM clearly installed correctly and all. Any idea/instructions on what I can do? Any help is appreciated!

I want to try one of the new gingerbread roms that have been developed and i was wondering what i need to flash. I am currently running RandomRom 2.2 with the genocide 2.0 kernal. Do the gingerbread roms need a gingerbread kernal or are they included in the rom? also do i need to flash a different modem too? I have EC05 on my phone right now. I have never used a rom past what is currently released so im not too sure what i need. Thank you for the help.
Basically pick the GB leak rom you want to run, download it and copy it to your sd card.
you can backup your call log, texts (sms) and mms with something like MyBackup root or titanium backup both in the market. Pretty much the only data that is safe to restore.
boot to recovery, do a backup. *** must do step.
then wipe 3x each (factory data reset, cache partition and dalvik cache)
then install the zip just like flashing any other rom
reboot and setup your apps.
It is not recommended to attempt to restore data for the apps, you'll likely be faced with foce closing applications. So just download your apps and set them up again.
you can also update your modem using odin.
here is the link that has all that information here:
[Modem] [Odin] [ACS] EH17!!, EH06, EG22, EF02/EF10, EE03, EC05, EB13, DK28

good luck
The Gingerbread leaks do not have source so custom kernels are not yet available. Although there is an EH17plus kernel. But all the Gingerbread leaks come complete with kernel. Read the installation instructions to the one you choose in the first post.
Do all of what was said above, but please do your research and read through EVERY post/page on the GB rom threads. Due to no source code being available, all of the GB roms are buggy. There are multiple steps to take to cut down on the bugs, but you need to make sure to read through everything in order to have a "best" functioning ROM.
Looks like hurricane (EH17) or Olympus (EH06) seem to be the best as of right now, but I ended up back at EC05 due to issues. Just a heads up!
Im sorry if this is being repeated, but I'm relatively new to flashing custom ROMs and up until now haven't really had any issues.
I recently flashed the latest PACman rom 4.3 and I'm not sure what went wrong. I'm coming from 4.2. I did everything the same as usual, wiped cache and dalvik, installed the zip. As soon as the phone rebooted, I started getting error messages. "Acore has stopped working, blame tyler", same thing for the system UI. So I decided to do a wipe and restore. Well now my restore wont work. I've had to go back to a PAC version from back in February because none of my other restore files will work. I'm not sure what to do. Even on this restore file, I'm getting "insufficient storage" messages when I havent even uploaded all my apps yet.
Please help!

I had similar problems going to 4.3 as well. Mine kept getting frozen at the boot screen, and wouldn't restore any of my backups. I tried flashing back to previous versions of android and nothing was really making any difference. Finally I ended up flashing the whole phone back to stock. From there I flashed the new 4.3 stuff on top of that and now everything is working flawlessly like it should again. I still have no idea what caused the issues, it's gotta be something in the new 4.3 stuff that's trickling in.
Here's what I did:
Download the most recent complete firmware file (which is UCDLK3 for d2att)
Download the pit file for my phone
Flash stock image and pit file with repartition through ODIN
Flash custom recovery back through ODIN (CWM, TWRP, etc)
Download and flash latest UCDMG2 bootloader (for d2att)
Download and flash your choice of ROM, kernel & gapps
and optionally -
Update modem to latest UCDMG2
Now you should be back to a fresh install of 4.3 which works the way it should! Hopefully you had your apps backed up with titanium or something similar which can be restored now as well.

Thank you for responding and providing details. I guess I'm not understanding where to find these files. I have the firmware downloaded. The pit file, I can't seem to find no matter what I search for. I can find help on creating my own, but I'm afraid I'll screw something up if I start messing with things. The stock image, bootloader and modem...no idea where to find those either. I've never had to do any of this before. Are these files within the rom I'm trying to flash??
So I've been running into an issue with the 4.3 mj5 4.3 leak. Basically the leak runs flawlessly without a single bug on my device, but the problem comes in whenever I try to restore my 4.3 leak cwm backups.
I installed seanzscreams ma4 and param tz bootloader fixes that were supposed to eliminate any issues going from 4.3 to 4
1.2 and back to 4.3. Except every time I attempted to restore 4.3 either from 4.3 itself or after having restored a 4.1 backup, my 4.3 nandroid will restore fine and boot up but gapps force close, along with several other apps, and the system will fail giving a wait or ok option. This basically freezes the note 2 and o have to pull battery.
So I was wondering...has anybody else had similar issues? If so, anybody have any ideas on how to fix this?
Just fyi have tried to open rom manager to fix permissions but always fcs,
Running paid update cwm touch 6.0.4.3
Att note 2 i317 of course
Att leaked 4.3 mj5 stock rooted and cwm
Any help would be hugely appreciated as I hate having to flash one click odin every time I want to try a new rom just to get back to 4.3...of which I must set up the entire kit again from clean boot which is annoying.
Thanks a lot guys

Hello,
I am running stock 4.2.2 (rooted, clockworkmod 6.0.3.3) and trying to (sd-card) install ladislav.heller's Deodexed 4.4.2 according to How-To on s4miniarchive.com (that I'm not allowed by this forum to link to, for the sake of spam/ISIS/Putin/…-fighting).
No luck. Phone is stuck on the loading animation for ever.
Even tried wiping all caches, data, installing Gapps for 4.4.2, …
How to make it run?
OK!
OK, I can answer myself yet again.
After flashing the latest CWM (6.0.4.6) and reinstalling the 4.4.2 it works like a HTCharm.
I've been running CM11 nightlies for a while now, but recently decided to switch back to the dreaded touchwiz, as some apps weren't operating correctly. I used CWMR to restore the backup I had made previous to installing CWM. Booting up revealed many processes failing during the setup process, as well as the absence of the keyboard. Being a bit noobish, I installed a stock rom/recovery, hoping that would fix the issues. It did not. It stalls at "Just a sec..." before Setup Wizard quits and it loops indefinitely. Problem is I now can't flash a new rom or restore. I've tried installing cwm with no luck since, but take this with a grain of salt as I was admittedly a bit panicky during. Any help is greatly appreciated.
So are you still looking to restore or find any method to have your device boot up again...?

Yes. I've had no luck the past few days with it. Might give up on it if I can't get it working.
Head to rwilco12's website and under downloads for the Galaxy S II Sprint SPH-D710, Download the Odin OneClick of the stock rooted GB27, You can choose between deodexed or odexed, pick your poison, note that choosing Full Restore wipes internal and No_Data preserves internal storage.
Put device in download mode and restore.
Once you've fully restored, Download AGAT's gb27 source recovery and flash via recovery flasher on device or Odin on PC. Start up into recovery and try restoring your GB27 ROM again. I remember there being a guide when flashing back and forth from cm to tw and there was a specific way you had to restore it, I've lost the thread but still looking for it for you.
But until then, try the Odin one click method and see where it flies there
