Unable to boot phone from nandroid backup - HTC One V

I recently flashed a 4.2.1 ROM but it had too many bugs so I tried restoring my stock (4.0.3) backup from TWRP but I keep getting caught in a bootloop. I've tried unrooting, rerooting, and trying the whole process over again, and I even remembered to flash the correct kernel after restoring my backup but no matter what I try I get the same result. It can never fully boot up. It continues to just hangs on the white HTC screen. If I'm missing something or doing something wrong can someone please help me out with a possible solution? Thanks

Flesh boot.img

Thank you but I did mention above that I also remembered to flash the kernel (boot.img) after restoring and that didn't do any good either. Any other ideas why this is going on and how I can solve it?

This happens mostly due to wrong kernel.but as you said you have the right kernel, then try installing some other custom Rom and kernel and extract data/app from nandroid backup using app like apk extractor.

Flash this image afterwards: Search for the file named (boot-TK-USB-CM10-201210112240.img) it will be fine.

Thank you but please note that Some ROMs boot up just fine. The problem is just restoring a backup (stock) if a new ROM didn't work out. It's the same process where my backups work until I install a new ROM and then am unable to restore a backup, leaving me stuck in recovery mode. So I need to know what I can do once in that postion. Why is it that after flashing a new ROM it doesn't let me restore my backup even after flashing the boot.img?? I will try that extraction method and see if that makes some sort of difference but I honestly don't think it'll do anything when it comes to just trying to restore.

ok thank for all your help guys
i still trying how make it work. i will share if i found the problem
CyanogenMod ROMs are in ext4 filesystem.
Stock ROMs are in rfs filesystem.
When you install CyanogenMod, your phone's internal partitions get formatted to ext4.
Problem is that CWM can format internal partitions to ext4 but not to rfs, so you cant boot your restored backup because of stock kernel failing to mount ext4 filesystem.
You can try custom kernels that are designed for stock and run in ext4 like Phiexz's kernel.
hmm, ic so other word i cannot restoring my stock rom right, because cwm not design to backup stock rom.
so this function backup and restore just for custom rom or stock rom that design for ext4.
hmm....
thank you for your information it very useful for me

Boot into CWM, connect Note to PC via USB and change your build.prop back over ADB.

Really? That's not a fix; it's not even advice. You're just suggesting he give up and start over. He just made a bad build.prop edit. All he has to do is undo the changes he made via ADB and reboot. It's Android tweaking 101.

i forgot i wipe and system , is recomand reflash rom in my situation ?
If you already wiped. Then yes reflash the rom.
For your knowledge, for next time make a nandroid backup before making any major modding.

Aside from the ADB fix for those who failed to do a nandroid backup, this is the best advice so far. Recovery is your friend. ALWAYS DO A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE TWEAKING!!

Yeah, take a Nandroid, if you can't at least backup your build.prop dude. Never change it unless it's absolutely necessary.
'Swyped' from my GT-N7100
Odd question for a somewhat noob
So ya I have had the SGS3 T-Mo google wallet hack by editing the build.prop for a while, works great! Today I went to to put the copied original build.prop back into system and renamed edited/hacked one to _build.prop, but it got stuck at Samsung logo at boot. Recovery & Download mode OK. I had a CWM backup from a month ago, I know I should have done a backup up & at least weekly while developing apps, but i have now recovered back to the old one, and man it's old.
What i am looking for is can I can I go and edit/replace the build.prop in a CWM backup? Or push it through ADB in Recovery mode?
Note:
I did try using ADB while in CWM, but phone did not get recognized in ADB, needed phone back, so just recovered last month old backup for now. If I can recover the looped backup, and get ADB to recognize device, then i know I can just push it to the folder, but will ADB work in CWM recovery mode? Never done much ADB in recovery or DL mode.

Sorry i just realized i posted in the wrong forum. Didn't realize this was Note until after post, my bad, sorry

Can't install ROMS or restore backups

I own the Virgin Mobile HTC one V. I tried everything I could think of to get this working but nothing has fixed this issue.. Beginning with stock I try to flash any aosp rom I want, then gapps, and then flash the boot.img as instructed but after doing so I either get random reboots upon trying to boot the phone or it just stays at a black screen. And then when I try to restore my stock backup it always goes past the Virgin Mobile animation but then hangs at the white HTC screen. I even tried flashing the boot.img after restoring that as well but no luck. Went back to complete stock and tried again but I keep getting the same result. Can someone please help me out?

R: Can't install ROMS or restore backups
You need to RUU
I mentioned already going back to stock and trying the whole process again but I get the same result.

go with a ROM like codefireX. no need to downgrade the radio.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2173524
use the SR15 release
I've already tried installing this rom. still doesn't solve the issue I'm trying to address...

It should, I was having all the same problem until trying that ROM. Are you sure you're wiping all your caches and factory reset?
yea man I've done everything correctly. No matter what ROM including this one, I still fall into the same issue. Could it possibly be a hardware issue?

[Q] Flashed 4.3 ROM

Hi guys I flashed a 4.3 ROM and when I'm going to restore a backup the first time it didn't let me. It gave me a error. I couldn't flash any other ROM. So I Odin. This time when I was going to restore my backup wasn't there.
What might it be?
You need to be more clear when asking for help, help us help you. Were you on a touchwiz rom before flashing a 4.3 rom? Your backup might be gone now if you odin'd back to stock.
Try connecting your phone to a computer and see if you can find you backup, if your back up hasnt been deleted, it will be in a folder with the same name as your recovery (TWRP, CLOCKWORK MOD RECOVERY OR CWM).

Theres the problem. Google changed the file structure in android 4.2.x.
Just type into google "android 0 folder".
Sounds like your backup is gone and you have to basically start over. You should keep an extra copy of any backups you make on an extra sd card or even on your computer.

[Q] How can I recover my phone?

I have been using a Cyanogen mod on my I747 for some time. I recently tried to make some changes to build.prop and on reboot I am getting stuck at the Liquid Smooth logo. Does anyone know how I can recover the use of my phone. I am able to get CWM Recovery (5.5.0.4) but I don't know what to do after that.

Go into cwm, flash your previous rom. It will over write the build.prop that you changed.

If you have a backup, try restoring your device if not flash your ROM again.
Best is to create a backup at least once a week.
