[Q] how I can install applications. XAP - Nokia Lumia 900

how I can install applications. XAP my lumia 900 from the PC

You have to make your device developer-unlocked (by subscribing as a WP developer, which cost 99$ a year).
Unlocking your device in any other method (interop-unlock/full-unlock) is NOT possible at the moment, as no-one managed to break through Nokia's protection yet...

Application not available
you may need to update the phone software, the application is exclusive of another mobile operator or the application is not available in your region
this is what tells me if they know of anything that can help me I'll be thankful
I have a lumia 900 cyan, ebay unlocked code for claro Dominican

What? How are you trying to install this, and what are you trying to install?
Try to make your post clear, I can't guess what you're trying to do unless you tell me...

ok good... happens I am trying to install the application on nokia bluetooth shared through marketplace but will not let me, so I'm trying to install it from the pc out why the first question did clarify in another message that was trying to do... I have the latest version of Windows Phone 7.8 for att

Ah, the BT Share app... For some strange reason, it doesn't work for me as well - and I too have a Lumia 900 (unlocked) with WP7.8.
I get the same error as you. I don't know why, but it 'thinks' you (and me) don't have a Nokia device - the BT Share app is Nokia exclusive.
I have no idea why it happens, sorry...
(Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I don't live in the US? Maybe the app is region-locked or something...)

I'm in the same situation...I tryes BBConnect, but it makes the Trinity too slow...and furthermore I didn't get the appropriate account set up, in fact no way to sync with MS xchange...
It would be great having a fast way to "replicate" the account from my BB...and dismiss it 4ever!
Anyone else?
I tried BBConnect 4.0 without success, i missed to activate the option on sim card.

why won't it work?
BBConnect 4.0 should be available for download from the carriers.
Will your IT staff let you?

Have you confirmed with your internal technology straff that they will allow you to use a non-Blackberry device with the Blackberry service? I know there are now ways to use non-Blackberry devices with the Blackberry service (even if they don't work well), but your internal IT people will have to configure your account to do so.
I asked my IT people to do that for me and they completely refused. The reason they use Blackberry (instead of Microsoft exchange, etc.) is because with Blackberry, they have total control over how I use my Blackberry, so they can close any security holes and otherwise restrict my use of the device. For example, we can't use the SD card on our phones, can't use Messaging, and can only use the Blackberry browser for the Internet. While this sucks as a user, it lowers their cost to support since there is much less chance that I will install a rogue application or otherwise screw up my Blackberry and then expect them to help.
If they're willing to let you use it, I'd definitely say go for it, but be aware that at some point you're probably going to have tot tell them that they need to update their server information to start sending the mail to a new device ID. When you do this, they're probably going to ask why, which could open a whole can of worms...
Good luck!
Mike
I would like to use my P3600 i.o. the BB. In this case I could avoid having 2 devices...I asked my IT dept and, as you stated, they did not support it. Now, is there a way to use BB on my P3600 with no help rom the IT dept?
I have the P3600, the BB, and 2 TIM wih the same number (1 normal +1 twincard). Obviuously, I do not want to dismiss my P3600 and use only the BB!!! PLEASE HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!!!!
any other help ?
please....!!!
As far as I know, you can have BB connect working, by using the DOPOD WM5 ROM and BB Connect version 2.1.2.52
You should try, it will work.
BBConnect will work with WM6 on Trinity.
Search this forum for bbconnect_wm6_professional_bb_4_1_.0.0.90.exe this is the BBConnect install for Trinity WM6
Ensure that your SIM has been enabled for Blackberry before you install. The rest is easy.
Good Luck!

What about a petition to get an android ROM from HTC ?

I am not very good at that but I am totally fed up with Windows Mobile 6.1...
HTC has all the code to put android on Diamond...
Whether they can create a great buzz by opening all the drivers code for Diamond, wether create the ROM themselves but :
LET US HAVE a quickly a stable (not tweacked) ANDROID on Diamonds !!!
Anyone to take the flag and move on ?
Cheers.
I'm sorry to rain on your parade, but I don't think HTC will have any interest at all to offer Android on any existing devices. There is simply no money in it.
HTC will want to use Android to market new devices.
That said, make a petition and I'll sign it. There are services for petitions availible on the internet.

Bye!
The biggest problem here is, that HTC has nothing to say about this. Rather try google

I have found a different way of enabling SIM Toolkit on WP7 1st Gen Devices after looking thru the FieldTest registry and found that it may be similar to the registry for STK. Just to confirm, can anyone with a 2nd Gen device with STK give me the registry entries for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\SimToolkit ? Please be cooperative and help me out here.

Hi mate, I don't have a 2nd generation device, but I have an HD2 runing Tango, and I have 2 values:
Default ( undefined value )
UIProfileSupport ( 3702783 )
Can u tell me please how do you activated this so I can do the same?
Thanks
I specifically need the entries from someone with SIM Toolkit enabled as they should have different values. 1st gen only have UISupport entry
[EDIT: Anyone using a Optimus 7 (or others, you can try it yourself) would notice in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\FieldTest there are provxml, license file and AppID directories which SIM Toolkit has the EXACT same files (not exactly but exact type.) but what I think is that there are missing registry entries which is usually why whenever you try sideloading STK_Application.xap it won't work. I've tried deleting the entries in FieldTest and replacing it with the UIProfileSupport entry and it reacts the EXACT same way STK_Application.xap reacts without its registry files. I think I have found a way but haven't tested it yet in case it corrupts my year old Optimus 7 so I need to confirm with anyone else with SIM Toolkit enabled on their handset and is Developer Unlocked]
Yes, I am 13 years old and I figured this out myself
I hope you are able to figure this out. Thanks for the effort.
what is sim toolkit?
It is your Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) applications. Carrier "apps". In India, it is known to be able to transfer prepaid credits to another device. Unknown for US though. In India which WP7 was recently launched, phones come without SIM applications which is a huge disappointment but I plan on bringing it to 1st Gen Devices since it is already available on 2nd Gen devices (e.g. devices when purchased, version is 7.10.7720.68 or 7.10.7740 or 7.10.8107.79) which (if I'm not wrong) is not available in India yet (I only know of the Nokia Lumia 800 for sale in India already) so... yeah...
*So many views of this thread but so little good samaritans who actually replied*
(Tech JOKE of the day: Want your computer to run 80x faster? Delete system32 or syswow64)
on optimus 7 is only one entry: Value name- UIProfileSupport; Value Type- DWord; Value data- 3702783
Any update here?
I've just received a Lumia 800 for personal use. Now what I need is to jailbreak it and crack open the regsitry and BOOM! SIM Toolkit for everybody!

when can u do that?
Check out the Lumia forum For Custom Rom. Though It needs some bootloader which is not locked.
Could this be a use for us CDMA US subscribers with a locked SIM slot ?

Hey there Alvin,
Did you get a chance to crack the STK problem fro 1st Gen devices? If you did you will be a hero to many Windows Phone fans across the world.
Im currently working with Heathcliff74 on Interop Unlock for (uncertain) ALL devices. I'm 90% complete. Stay connected. I may be a hero for Windows Phone altogether.

Do you have a rough idea of the devices that will be supported so we can start making the users' heads get filled with excitement? :-D
I'm currently still working on Interop Unlock for ALL devices. It's hard work. As for SIM Toolkit it will most likely work on ALL 1st Gen or devices without SIM Toolkit but the device has to be Unlocked. I'm just waiting for Nokia to release the Network Setup app and I'll get to work immediately.

You're too, too much optimistic
C'mon guys - don't keep down this larva of dormant Recognized Developer
AlvinPhilemon, kid, I know perfect accomplice for you - this guy.
Have a look at his statement - it fits your aims and ambitions... At least - you can grow up together....
I'm not too optimistic. Its due to the fact that the OEM Inbuilt apps have registries that help it work properly. Which I suspect is what stops SIM Toolkit from working even if its sideloaded since its registries are missing. For my Interop Unlock project I found an exploit in the system which is the CAB updates. It will only send to device if the CABs have an MS cert which with the MS Cert, you can pretty much send ANYTHING to the device. I have gotten hold of the cert but the tool used to sign the CABs doesn't allow me to set a password for the MS Cert. So I'm working on that. Interop Unlock is my first priority which (unsure) MAY work on all devices. But interop comes first as i need to interop my lumia to gain registry acces which then kills 2 birds with one stone. So help me guys. I'm currently working with a recognised developer on interop unlock so stay logged. Coming soon in either Mid-End July or Start-Mid August.

[Q] Jailbreak/Unlock Lumia 800

Hello,
I bought a new windows phone (the Lumia 800) and i unlocked about a year ago my old wp7 with chervonWP7.
now when i am trying to unlock lumia 800 i always get an error that says that i need to connect my device to zune and blablalbla....
The only reason that i want to unlock my Lumia 800 it's because i want to install a keypad with my Language (Hebrew).
There is a way that i can add the keypad to my device without unlocking my device and how can i solve the problem.
Thank you.
This belongs in the Q&A forum, if you had to post it at all. You should search first, though!
Read the thread with the list of unlocks, or go look at the Lumia 800-specific forum. There's a way to full-unlock some Lumia 800s; you might be one of the lucky ones. Otherwise, though... modifying the keyboard mappings requires, at a minimum, registry write access. That will require interop-unlock, not just dev-unlock. Nobody has found a way to interop-unlock any Lumia phone that isn't subject to the hack I already mentioned (which is technically a custom ROM).
