I updated the all in one for my galaxy note 2
Stock L900VPAMA7 All-In-One Firmware
the baseband version changed to L900Vpama7 but the android version stayed at 4.1.1 , shouldn't it have changed to ver 4.1.2?
kernel is 3.0.31-265523
build number JR003C.L900VPALJC
Sprint

Baseband = modem
Build = Rom
They don't have to match to work together. I'm running an LG8 Rom with the LIF modem. Sometimes you can get better signal strength that way.

Cool thnx Bro yea i wasnt getting the LI3 OTA update but my wifes got it like a week ago and i didnt have any patience
Okay so the next logical question should then be, how do I know which ones will work together and is there rule of thumb when upgrading? i.e. Rom version should always match the package? (if that makes sense)

Yeah the link is back to the original thread
FYI, most folks tend to keep the modem version in sync with the rom version.
Also Fyi, there were binary comparisons done with several of the baseband releases that came with the leaks that proved the only thing that was changed on MOST of them was the version number. No internal code changes were done.
When Samsung sends Sprint a package, it includes the baseband package as well, even if nothing was changed but the version number.

Hello,
I received 4.2 OTA update to upgrade my Galaxy Nexus from 4.1.2....update downloaded fine...and then performed a reboot of the device to install...during installation, it failed...received the sleeping android with the "Big Red ! triangle'. The phone restarted and the version running was still 4.1.2 ... this has happened 3 times already.
Any idea on why this happens ...and how to get it updated to 4.2 correctly??

You dont have a custom recovery installed as well, then?
How did you unlock the bootloader? (May seem like a pointless question, depending on the op's answer.)
What radio/baseband version do you have installed?

RadioBaseband version: i9250XXLA2
Build: JZO54K
I had unlocked the bootloader via the instructions on the following link - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895
and did a return to stock for 4.1 Jelly Bean installation. I did receive the OTA for 4.1.2 and it installed fine without any issues.

JZO54K radio is XXLF1. JRO03C was XXLA2, if i recall it correctly. Explains why no issues were found when upgrading to JRO03C.
JOP40C radio is XXLH1.

I think your baseband should be XXLF1. XXLA2 was an ICS baseband.
XXLA2:
- Standard European baseband
- Originally from the yakju ICL53F factory image and the OTA update (to 4.0.4 / IMM76D from ICL53F)

Sorry...but I still don't understand why i would need to do the manual "return to stock" again...
since my baseband is XXLA2...does that mean OTA 4.2 installtion will never work...till the baseband is updated? If i do follow the steps for return to stock manual update again (which to me is very painful since i m a n00b) ...will the baseband be updated again...?? what happens when 4.2.1 has to be upgraded...followed next yr by 4.3 or 5 (key lime pie)?
are there easy steps to just update the base band??
(pardon my questions...i m learning the hard way not to buy google devices from eBay)

IF the radio is the only issue you can fastboot flash the xxlf1 radio. You will need to follow the first few steps in bk201doesntexist's link to set up the fastboot drivers & DL the platform-tools necessary to flash your device. That post will also serve as agood example of how the fastboot utility works.

Using note 2 toolkit to do a backup
i know mine is a N7100, but the build number part is confusing, on my phone in the about section it says that its JZO54K.N7100XXDMC3, but on the proGram, the only two 7100 builds which are 4.1.2 are both DLK7-DLL7 or DMA3-DMC1

Well, my reasoning behind the 4.1.1 is that I am wanting to change my MSL and tutorials state that LJ7 is needed with LG2 Radio as well. Do you know how to change MSL to 00000 from current?

Just make certain you don't flash the AT&T modem. There are AT&T roms available on their subforum.
You should be fine.

These rom questions are great questions but they belong in the forum for the ROM you are running. However, you CANNOT get wifi calling from the AT&T Rom. It will only work on the T-Mobile stock ROM or developer ROMS that have used the T-Mo stock Rom Base. Jedi Master X2 comes to mind.
Please post any other of your questions for the rom you are running in its appropriate forum. I believe you will have better luck. Below is the link to the Ditto Note 3 forum. Good Luck!
