Do you know if they have any nightly, weekly or monthly releases, just like CM10?

You could have at least done a factory reset.

I will try now with factory reset.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Is a format of userdata done or is /data/media or /sdcard/ wiped in any way? The phablet zip writes to /data, right? And doesn't format it? Still waiting on the download.

Is there any plan from canonical to release final version for galaxy nexus ?
i'm little disappointed when they just release a "preview" version
and in my opinion
if they want to promote their OS before launching any pre-installed ubuntu phone
they need to release a fully functional OS for current supported phones
well at least people will know what is ubuntu phone not only from video

I love it. I had put it on and done a backup so I can put it back on to show it off.
Its (as an alpha) amazing. The flow and simplicity of it makes scenes to me. Swipe from all sides.

I done factory reset, dalvik and cash. Installed, booted and wait for more than 10 minutes. Still nothing, just black screen. And now TWRP couldn't find my restore files...

Multi boot options

I wish we can have multi boot options. There are just too many good Roms and restoring nandroid backup takes too long. What do you guys think about developing dual boot option for our Nexus? I wish devs take a look at this concept.

Check out the app Boot Manager from the market. That's exactly what you're looking for.

I imagine it runs well on the galaxy nexus due to the roms running off of the virtual sdcard which is really the internal storage. Is this correct?

From the accounts I've read, BootManager only works for ICS and previous on the gnex..
I am entertaining some options to multiboot this device. Might have already been done, but we got ubuntu one preview, android (of course [particularly jellybean & beyond] multi versions [MIUI, CyanogenMod, etc]), Open WebOS, possibly futures like B2G or Firefox OS & Tizen on the horizon..
and other devices multi-booting (Nexus 7 does).. so I think I might can throw something together possibly.

CyanogenMod 9 Wallpaper for all ROM ?

Please could you give me the backgrounds of CyanogenMod 9 RC1 for Galaxy Nexus?
Sorry for my bad English
Perhaps you could extract them from the zip file within the rom? I'll try and look...

Aren't the CM9 wallpapers the same as CM7? Some of those go back to CM6, if I'm not mistaken. Although that pair of (blue-footed) boobies is a swap for another pair.

[Q] What's the best VZW 4.2 Rom?

Hey guys I'm a Nexus retread. Just wondering what the VZ JB 4.2 rom is. Thanks!
Prepare yourself for the flames!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
At least from XDA? mROM 3.2 if you want the closest stock ROM without any mods. (Which I'm personally running)
MMUzzy's Jelly Bean is my next choice, stock feel with some extra additions thrown into the mix.

This is answered the same every time it's asked. Try several and see what works best for YOU. Everyone doesn't want the same features in a ROM. Some want stock and others want customization. Read the forums look at the screen shots and flash whatever peaks your interest. If you don't like it flash something else. Just be sure you make a backup just in case something wonky happens.
As for a suggestion, I am currently on Xylon V11+Zen kernel V12.

Is it stable now?
"Update: This beta is not a usable build. Its similar to the Developer Preview i.e full of placeholder information. The only noticeable difference is that it seems to be a lot faster. Overall a very disappointing update for Ubuntu Touch."
Hells yeah, can't wait for voice and data to work.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Yeah, it'll be so awesome to be on a platform without apps again, like Android in 2009!
Shouldn't have been labeled a Beta if not even the core apps have been finished yet.
From what the article says, this is just a faster running alpha build.
But what can you expect from Ubuntu these days... ever since they tried more & more to emulate Macs, the OS has seriously gone down the drain.
will it open source?

No, it isn't. It's in beta says the first post on this thread.
Without GSM and data connection, we have to say it's still developer preview only

I agree 100%. A beta gives you all the core functionality without the stability and smoothness of the final product. Not software that can only be 'previewed' on the devices that it was intended for

depends on which gnex you have. i think the gsm versions are available in the ubuntu touch website. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Install
if you have the toro or toroplus (cdma) we have to wait for some good soul to port them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I saw on their page that nothing telephony related is really working right now, which kind of kills any chance of using the phone as a phone for daily use. Since I've switched to the HTC One though, I'm seriously looking into this (since obviously the radios aren't of much use to me at present).

Please look for instruction in Ubuntu Touch forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2069

Also if you care about your data, please make a backup.

agree. I tried a few times because I got curious and can't wait to see.
The first time is when It's just launched. And I got disappointed, and realize that it's just a developer preview.
Then in a few months, I try again but nothing looks changed (as a user) and I switch back to Android instantly.
Then they said it'll be usable as a daily driver by the end of May. I tried a week ago, but no luck. Still buggy, and I can't say it could be used as a daily driver.
Let's wait until it's 'finished'.
really missing the multitasking button in ubuntu
certainly ubuntu will come up much better but i badly miss the multitasking button in ubuntu hope they have a btter idea...
