I know the Desire HD/ Inspire 4g is struggling with miui based ICS and Jellybean ROMs each with there on fair share of bugs but are there any plans for some new V4 ROMs or patched ones? Does the device even have any hope for a miui v5 ROM?

Miui v5 will be officially supported by xiaomi only for devices with jellybeam (official) and will probably be based on android 4.2 so maybe some dev want to port it as the dhd already has pretty stable roms with android 4.2 and can be used as base in porting.
Besides, xiaomi stopped developing miui v4 to focus on miui v5 so there wont be newer official versions of miui v4. I think today version will be the last official version of miui v4 for supported devices.

at this moment there is a no active developer working on porting MIUI to last builds for 4,2,2 stock version , so I think we should wait for that
Miui for the HOX is on 4.1.1 no 4.2.2 in sight.
You can see the latest build from Friday on en.miui.com

Not only that but the new ROM that he released is much more stable since it incorporates the 4.4.4 release along with CM. Highly highly recommend it if you're planning on upgrading for Nokia X .

Any chance we get any Android 5.0 Lollipop custom ROMs?
Probably. But that depends on when Google will release the files for the final version of AOSP Lollipop. There was a version of Jellybean that Google released late and everyone complained. The other factor is if someone will develop/port a lollipop aosp rom. I'm sure someone will port the Nexus 5/6/7 version of the rom since they run Snapdragon processors.
