Re: [Q&A]4 Kornerz/BDP Sony Xperia Z Spoofed Rom~Q & A Thread
3 days using this ROM and all is good 80 plus apps and all is good not much ram so after closing a large app sometimes takes several seconds for the launcher apps to repopulate just thought I'd let you know

Brother if you have 80+ apps on your phone, its the apps taking up all the ram,not the rom,you need to delete the ram hogs from your phone and then you will see more ram,i promise.

Re: [Q&A]4 Kornerz & BDP Sony Xperia Z Spoofed Rom~Q & A Thread
I thought it was just the ones that run in the background that used ram like weather apps social apps and such

Im not sure what apps you have on your phone, but when you install an app, when your at the install menu, where it says install/cancel,look at the screen and it shows what kind of access the app needs, trust me,probably 90% of the apps you have on your phone needs internet access to update, get info about you for things like facebook or something and other things,so their constantly running in the background, get you a task manager and it will show all the apps that are running on your phone at the same time.

Re: [Q&A]4 Kornerz & BDP Sony Xperia Z Spoofed Rom~Q & A Thread
OK I'll do that thanks for info/help

Also get you an app such as gemini that allows you to change how and when your apps launch. Just make sure you have a nand before making changes. Most apps auto launch at boot then if you kill them with a task killer they just open back up within a few moments.

Check your ram usage at the task manager,

[Q] Back button app close

Haven't been able to find the option to close apps by long pressing the back key on development menu.
I've been wondering, is it somewhere else? If not implemented on stock Sony ICS is there anyway to add it?

You dont need it. The system closes it if its not in use for a time.

System closes apps after 30min of not beeping used but there are apps like Facebook that otherwise I must manually close from app list, that's why I'm asking.

Not sure about other ROMs but the XGAMER rom has it included, i find it quite useful to be honest but may be a placebo effect.
Im sure if you ask the dev he will help you

Recommended Apps for our wonder

I made this thread to give app suggestions that are good out better than the usual ones
Let's start:
1- FBM for Facebook: (free)
Now we all know that the official Facebook app sucks and uses a LOT of ram, this app gives you the mobile web view of Facebook(like the one in the browser) and it is super SMOOTH!
2- Smart Status Bar: (free)
Ever wanted to check a notification while playing games or using a fulscreen ago? This app does exactly what you need! You might think that an app like that will use many ram but you're wrong, it is simple, responsive and uses a small amount of ram.
3- Adaway: (free)
A one-click Ads blocker and the best thing about it is that it actually works!!
4- IMO messenger: (free)
Despite the fact that almost every one that uses this app thinks it's bad, this is the ultimate messaging all I use on all my devices (it also has its own social network, but I don't use that ). You can use multiple accounts at the same time, hero's if you have a business account and a personal one. And it has a wide selection of social networks that you can log in to!
5- Better app manger: (free)
Simple Application manger!
Backup apps(no data backups)
Multi-Uninstall
Share apps(even .apks)
All that for free and without root
6- Auto Memory Manger: (free)
A great app to tweak your out-of-memory manager settings yourself
(warning: you need to know what you're doing)
More coming soon
If you have any suggestions please leave them here...

I tried to greenify the Facebook official app before but it didn't work (which was the reason I found fbm)
did I do something wrong or is Facebook just un-greenify-able?
And I have never heard of tasks before...I will give it a try and see what it can do

Shoulder buttons as camera controls

I remember that somewhere deep in xda there was an option to assign L and R as focus and shutter but I have no idea where it is. I found an app but I prefer using system mod than another camera app. It needed the user to make a few changes in a file at /system but now I can't find it...
Could anyone help me? I'm abroad now so I can only use my mobile now.

I think that for better battery savings more than one app should be installed.
Greenify. Reducing wakelocks and keeping CPU usage as low as possible + longer standby sessions = win.
Greenify n Qualcomm Battery Guru... Greenify made a big difference.. QBG seems like a normal battery saver app..
But, for example : Freezing apps with Titanium is better than hibernating the apps with Greenify ? Does Greenify do the job 100 % ? I mean freezing must have up's and down's ofcourse, but when you want to open an app from a frozen state, it will open normally without any bugs ? I agree that Greenify it's the best out there ,but what I'm trying to say/ask is if it is ok to froze an app.

You would freeze system apps that you don't need. While use greenify to hibernate apps that you do you but don't need running when the screen is off. Such as Facebook or maps.
If greenify doesn't let you hibernate apps cause they are system apps, use titanium backup to convert them to user apps. Or delete the app, eg facebook or maps and then reinstall it from the market

I have this option in Titanium : Integrate updates of system apps into ROM. Is that option the right option to integrate those apps into ROM? Or that option integrates only the apps updates? Well, I just found out, don't do it, don't integrate, it will mess up your phone. Apps will start disappear from where you put them, and so on, it sucks big time.

I am running the paid version of titanium backup not sure if that makes a different. But if you select an app there is an option to "covert to system app" or "concert to user app" but obviously you should only do it for apps that you understand.
Your easiest solution is to reflash or install your rom but without clearing or wiping your user data, so just system files are replaced. Or use a backup of you have one
