So I'm having a problem with my internal sd being read. I flashed a rom from rootzwiki. Ive run pretty much every rom on here, AOSP and TW. I flashed back to Frosty jelly right now and after using the rom from Rootzwiki TWRP wouldn't read my internal SD. I noticed that the samsung file explorer wouldnt read it either. It was showing a different extension I think.
So I flashed the fixer located on one of the aosp threads. Now my file manager will show all my files but I cant get TWRP to see my files on the internal sd.
Any help would be appreciated, suggestions?

You could try 1 of 2 things:
1. Re-flash recovery mode.
2. Change the type of recovery mode you use.
You can flash recoveries by downloading the .zip file for it and flashing it in the recovery you have. I suggest putting it on the external sd since the internal does not work
I did re flash Twrp. I guess I could try flashing cwm and see what happens.

My epic 4g touch is doing bootloop in the 4g screen. Need help. any ideals how to recover this. I tried flashing rom but clockwork sees no files in external sd card. Plus, how do you transfter files to your internal sdcard in clockwork?Any help is appreciated. Thanks
When I had to recover from a bootloop I actually had to remove my sdcard, put the phone in download mode and reflash it. Flashing with a .tar on your SD card has caused many problems for me =/
As a rule, here is my emergency ROM evacuation plan:
1) Can I get to recovery? If so, I will simply wipe everything (factoryh reset) then reflash fresh.
2) If not, then just boot to download mode (power+volDown) and Odin over a clean kernel (most bootloop issues are going to be from a kernel issue)
3) If all that doesn't work, then flash a stock rom from scratch using Odin
It sounds like 1 is not an option to you. I don't think you can copy from sd to internal without mounting them on a pc and doing the copy on that side.
In any event, you are gonna need a PC.
HTH
You can put files on your SD card by enabling SD mount somewhere within cwm. However I would listen to that guy^
That is probably the best way to "abort" a ROM

Oh and I wanted to ask: what ROM did you install because SD mounting doesn't work with any of the AOSP ICS ROMs...

With ICS, I haven't been able to mount anything but internal storage... But I have been rooting since I got my first Intercept on day 1. I'm a danger seeker
can someone explain to me the difference between odexed and deodexed?
Your going to get a flame for adding this but basically odex is the system files are broken in to 2 files an apk and an odex file. It preloads the odex file to run slightly faster but makes theming impossible.
Deodex removes the odex and compiles it all into the apk making theming possible... if you search you can find a more detailed technical answer but that's a basic one

Well I agree with most of what you said but there have been odex themes

Roms have to go on internal memory to flash on gs3
this message brought to you by my GalaxyS3 running Phantom's Blazer v1.6
I don't know how you feel about using TWRP 2.2, but that recovery will allow you to flash roms stored on your external sdcard.

I've installed all of my roms via flashing them from the external SD card with CWM.

I would like to know what version of CWM for the GSIII your using that alows to to flash ROM's from the external SD card.
I have only found TWRP able to do this as CWM does not read the external SD card on the GSIII yet.
For whatever reason clockwork recovery is not recognizing my external sd card. Unfortunately that is where I put the zip file for the rom I am trying to flash. I only realized this after I already wiped data, and formatted the system. Since I can't get the phone back on to move the zip to the internal memory, is there a way I can flash the rom using odin? I'm not sure which parts would have to be extracted from the zip file for it to work, if it is possible.
You can Odin to stock and then try again with the rom on internal memory this time.

Is there a tar file for stock out there?
Are you familliar with ADB, you could push a copy of the rom from your PC to /mnt/sdcard

This will get you back to stock and root.
Flash with odin. So you don't trip your flash counter
Then download Rom manager and flash cwm.
Put the zip file on your internal sd card and flash.
Same thing happened to me when I started messing with my s3 without reading

Need some help guys. I wanted to try out TWRP and was currently using CWMR 5.5.0.4 so I flashed and everything went fine. Didn't really like it so I odin back to CWMR. Now in CWMR it won't see anything on my ext sd card. All my files and my CWMR backups are there and usually when I go to restore I would have the option to restore from sd card or internal sd card. Now I only have the option to see my internal sd card. How can I get my CWMR to see my ext sd card again? Also I was looking for a newer version of CWMR but could only find the odin version of 5.5.0.4. Thanks again guys for any help.
A lot of the first cwm recoveries don't support external sd. Upgrade to at least 5.8.4.5.

Problem fixed thank you. But where is the newer CWMR? I can't find any good links anywhere. Even google.
www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
What didn't you like about twrp?
It does the same thing but is touch screen.
I love how I can just flash without manually going into download mode too. Goo manager does it all automatically for you through twrp

what did you do to fix.. trying to search forum. .but cant seem to find answer for mine... i went to go install new rom.. i did my normal wipes.. wiped cahce/davlik/factory reset/system.. then rebooted to recovery and wiped agian.. went to install and now TWRP is not seing my external card.. i had another rom on my internal and installed it .and still not able to see anything on external.. even in root explorer... any thoughts how to fix?
Ok so I downloaded the Beanstalk ROM, after using Intergalactic for a while. I wiped and formatted in TWRP - my issue is that I can't get my PC to recognize my phone now, so I can't just copy and paste the ROM to my root folder. I could only get it onto my Mirco SD card. I tried installing the rom from that but it kept failing. I thought it might be that it wasn't on the root folder, but when I moved it there it still didn't work.
Is there some way to back-to-stock my phone through Odin? Or does anyone know a workaround for installing this rom? Wondering if I need to install CWM recovery or something...
thats a 4.4 ROM right? the latest CWM should be able to do it. TWRP doesnt work with 4.4 yet afaik.
