Have you renamed that backup folder? Try to name it without spaces.

You can boot into recovery and disable the m5d check I believe if you are really stuck but it is I'll advised. You my just have to bite the bullet and make a fresh install.

I tried to flash my Desire HD today.
I followed this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964996&highlight=Installation+aborted.
Followed it down to every detail, but after i have runned the FULL-WIPE-1-2-3, and started installing the Android Revolution rom i get this error message:
E:Cant't open /sdcard/Android_Revolution_HD-4G-3.2.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.
I tried to download from another mirror, and ran a MD5 checksum on the file after download, and checked it up against the MD5 checksum that i found in the Android Revolution thread, and it was exactly the same.
What the hell is wrong?
May be a problem with your SD card. Do you have access to another one?
Hmm, no i dont have another SD card
I said i followed the guide to every bit, but i forgot that i skipped the radio step.
I did not flash the radio because i didnt know which radio to flash.
But now i saw that in the Android Revolution thread the recommended a radio, so i downloaded that radio and flashed it.
Could this cause the problem i had? That i didnt flash the radio before i flashed the Android Revolution rom?
I restored the nanodroid backup in clockwork so that i now have a working phone again, but damn i want this to work. If i do a wipe again will it delete the backup i made in clockwork recovery or do i have to make a new backup after i wipe?
SOLVED!!
I got it right now. Dont know for sure which of the things i did that made it working, but ill write em down if someone else has this problem.
- Downloaded the radio suitable for the rom, and flashed it
- Downloaded the rom flash image for the 5th time, this time i downloaded it via torrent
- Renamed the Android_Revolution_HD-4G_3.2.zip to update.zip

Thanks SO MUCH it helped! I redownloaded file (now 198 Mb to 128 Mb I had primordially) and renamed it to update.zip
P.S. I have HTC Desire, but I guess this problem is common
Solved, too.
Seems that I've solved the same problem in a much more weird and simpler one. Reboot, redo it, done!
Got a similar problem when installing the revolutionhd rom stuff next, and reboot, redo it, done!
No idea coz I'm a noob and would love to be a noob. I hate the processes to get the result I desire, so I have to suffer from it like a soldier who has to plant lots of flowers to get to the girl.
Okay it's gotten to a pretty dire situation where I can't flash any Roms in recovery. I'm using CWM 3.0.2.6. This is what I try and do.
1.Full Wipe 1.5
2.Flash Rom
So far I tried it with ARHD 5.1.9 and Leedroid 3.1.3 and it starts flashing for no longer than 10 seconds then stops and says status 1 (or 7 I've seen) and aborted. I've had zero problems in the past flashing ext3 rom but ever since I tried to flash ARHD 5.1.8 from ARHD 3.5 it's been downhill
I think it's to do with the ext4 partitions. *don't use full wipe* - instead run the "partition /data as ext4" script and then flash the rom. Full wipe is for ext3 and ARHD is for ext4.
Otherwise just restore the nandroid you made before full wiping.
Thanks for the reply, how would I go about running that script in CWM. I have Mike's 'format_data_partition_EXT4' file. Also the Full Wipe I was using was 1.5 which says format to EXT4
double check downloaded rom's checksum - provided in the topic's op (md5).
u can use zip in cwm under install zip from sdcard menu.

Status 7
I had this when flashing Leedroid 3.1.3. Always got status 7 error. I tried the torrent and ftp downloads.
I checked the MD5 number on both files against the MD5 number on the developers site , and both downloads were corrupt.
Downloaded again and checked MD5 numbers and they matched. Flashed with that file and all worked fine.
Always check the MD5 before flashing.
Cheers

Thanks, I got that error too, I thought a corrupt file would be unlikely because it didn't work with LeeDroid too. How do I check the MD5 of the Rom I download?
Download an MD5 Checker, most ROM authors provide a MD5 which is like an electronic signature. If the MD5's match the file you downloaded is 1:1 copy of the file the ROM author uploaded.
You can find an MD5 checker on my site, just click my Signature and head to tools. Even MD5.exe has an MD5
I checked the MD5 to see if it matched and it did, so I imagine it has something do with EXT4. I've managed to flash TB Fusion and it runs very well and stable so I'll stick with that.
Thank you all for the help.
if you plan to use an ext3 rom, u should wipe using cwm not zip cause cwm does it to ext3. or use an ext3 based wiper.

Hi, I've researched this problem to exhaustion, but with no luck. Im hoping someone here has some insight.
I have an HTC Desire CDMA with:
Bravoc DVT2 SHIP S-off
Hboot 6.06.1002
Radio 2.15.00.11.16
Andriod 2.2
S offed with revolutionary and rooted with unrevoked.
I've tried 4 versions of clockwork mod (even the one revolutionary auto flashes), and every time I make a backup, it'll complete fine and restore fine if I restore it right away, but after I reboot the phone once every backup will have an MD5 mismatch error. I want to start using a custom ROM but I'm too afraid to flash it without a working backup.
Anyone have any advice?
Anyone have any ideas?
It means your sdcard is getting corrupt..Better fix it with chkdsk

Worked, thank you so much!
Hi,
I was playing around with the installing Ubuntu on my DHD, i relaised that I need a kernel that has loopback support (I dont remember flashing a kernel the only thing i have flashed is the Virtuous Quattro Rom rc3_spade)
I flashed the GLaDOS-cfs-V2.10 kernel onto my DHD and rebooted it.
It then got stuck on the white HTC logo screen.
I can get into clockworkmod recovery and i tired to restore a backup i had made prior to flashing the kernel but it says md5 sum mismatch.
I'm slightly stuck, i'm not an expert on these things but i do know a but but at the moment i am completely stumped.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
EDIT:
I found a way to get it back i put the quattro rom back onto my phone using the command prompt and adb but i reflashed the quattro rom its now all fine and its all wokring but im wondering,
when i tried to restore the rom (after i had reflashed it), why did it come up with md5 sum mismatch still?
:S This is confusing me .....
Hello,
I got my Desire currently with Oxygen 2.3.2 but due to the internal memory limitation I want to change it to MildWild 4.3
So I tried to "Flash zip from sdcard" but I got the following message:
Install from sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:Wrong digest :
system/media/audio/ringtones/ArgoNavis.ogg
E:Verification failed
Installation aborted.
Looking at other posts in the forum I tried to change the data in the zip: removing ArgoNavis file, modifying CERT.SF and MANIFEST.MF
Those two files had respectively:
Name: system/media/audio/ringtones/ArgoNavis.ogg
SHA1-Digest: VFRq6IbQDiS1mDU8r9IzmdprsdI=and :
Name: system/media/audio/ringtones/ArgoNavis.ogg
SHA1-Digest: KCXHEpUUf6RMFQQ/hrT/E2ZC8w0=but when I remove those I get "E:No signature (516 files)".
So I don't know want to do now
Do anyone now how to help me please ?
Regards,
Aisty
I don't know what recivery are you using but did you try to toogle signature verification?

I'm not sure I understand what he's trying to accomplish? He has latest oxygen and now tries to change to mildwild to get more space which would be a foolish thing to do as mildwild doesn't fit in Oxygenr2 hboot.
Even if he persists with this, I'd say it is a corrupted download most likely. You're not supposed to have signature issues there, even though I'm certain that mildwild is signed properly, and as sure as hell you're not supposed to delete contents in order to get it installed.

Mmm... I think my recovery is Cyanogen Mod one as it was the 1st ROM I installed (and I still have the logo in the back).
Else, I am not sure to understand why I should activate the signature verification when it said "No signature" ? Also the first lines of the CERT.SF file are:
Signature-Version: 1.0
Created-By: 1.0 (Android SignApk)
SHA1-Digest-Manifest: 7y3cKpyzcHOiD6VMGnhDh3YRIMM=
Is there a way to bypass this verification ?
First, as Erklat said reconsider what you wanna do. Then try to download rom again. Then in recovery (not sure what you said cause there is clockworkmod recovery not the one you said) in advanced options you have an option to switch off signature verification.

The file is not corrupted I checked ^^ I didn't change the hboot since I installed Cyanogen So I supposed it didn't change when I changed ROM.
Else I tried to remove the blocking file, but I new it wouldn't work XD I thought I will learn a bit like that
Finally I am a "she" !!!
Anyway thanks for your input !
