[Q] Flickering Problem when running my game
Hello all,
Recently i am developing a game. While testing on my galaxy S3 i noticed that sometimes the home screens and app pages flicker when sliding through pages and even swiping the notification bar down.
The funny thing, it doesnt happen every time i play the game, but it happens some times. To get rid of the problem i have to open my game again or any other app and then exit out of it and the flickering will stop.
Ive tried and tested just about ALL of my code. There doesnt seem to be any major issues or memory problems. I am also cleaning up properly when exiting my game, and destroying objects and even stoping my game engine.
At this point i am beginning to think it is a bug in the Android OS or something. My device is running Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. Ive had many others beta test the game on some cheaper and lower end devices and they dont have the problem. And of course not on tablets.
What do you guys think? Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Hello all,
I've owned my E4GT for a couple of weeks (upgraded from a Verizon Droid ERIS). I am finding I'm unable to play most games without them randomly crashing back to the home screen. Games would include a couple of "Amazon App of the day" titles like Airport Mania and Muffin Knight as well as a paid Plants vs Zombies app. All of the apps crash in the same fashion (playing fine, everything freezes, home screen re-appears) and they log something along the lines of:
F/Looper ( 8065): Could not create wake pipe. errno=24
visible via LogCat.
I see a few other complaints about this in the Sprint E4GT forum and some plants vs zombies related forums.
I'm lead to believe this is a known issue and is going to be fixed, but I can't find that written officially anywhere. Does anyone else have this problem, and does anyone know any workarounds?
This is a known issue, with no known solution atm.
The FPSE forum seems to be moving at a pretty slow pace so I'm hopeful that I may be able to find some assistance here more quickly.
For a while I've had the FPSE Playstation emulator on my Samsung Epic 4G Touch and it has worked pretty well for me thus far. I have recently decided to try getting Final Fantasy VII to work and the game will start up as normal bringing me to the opening credits video. This is where my problem becomes apparent. Any key input doesn't get registered. If anything messing around with the settings has only made it worse as originally the screen would still vibrate when pressed, but now it doesn't even do that. (For other games the vibration seems to be missing now regardless of the feedback setting, though key input is still registered.) As a result I'm left unable to reach the screen where you start a new game as the opening video will continue to loop until any key input is registered. Essentially the game is unplayable while this issue persists. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Ive played that game not to long ago but stopped because when tifa gets her "break" skill the game goes like 1 fps so i gave up afterwards. But from what ur experiencing maybe its fpse update ? I havent tried it since ive stopped but i know fpse has been updating.

Sorry friend, this sounds more like a App problem so you probably aren't going to be able to get much help here. Have you tried emailing the developer?
Hello,
I get major stuttering every 7-10 seconds in both GTA VC and GTA III on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The framerate issue is not corelated in any way to what is actually being shown on the screen - it just stutters, it doesnt matter if its a police chase or a quiet interior.
The weird thing is that for the first 5-10 minutes the game runs absolutely great with no framerate issues whatsoever, and then it begins - major slowdowns every few seconds without a reason.
What is the possible solution? My android version is 4.2.1
Help?
As per the title, only just noticed this happening in the last week or so, it doesn't happen all the time, I've witnessed it in the app drawer and it happens in some games like Riptide GP & possibly others, its all the way down the screen in the same place each time it happens and its on a slight angle, is it a fault or more to do with Android?

Hello guys,
Excuse me but let me get straight to the point: I really need a solution. I upgraded my Tab 3 from JB 4.1.2 to KitKat 4.4.2 yesterday, and one and the sole problem for me is now I'm always experiencing lag in a certain rhythm game. I'm not sure about overall device performance as I don't pay much heed and for me no extreme differences apparent for me to notice. Even if it's slower on KitKat 4.4.2, I wouldn't really mind it. But the problem is, the only thing I care is the one experiencing problem from the OS upgrade.
The game is called School Idol Festival. You can see the example of the gameplay in youtube. (can't post any link since this is a new account)
The problem is now the game lag heavily causing the notes to move shakily, especially when there are more notes appearing on screen at the same time. It's like when you move your cursor when the pc is lag heavily, the cursor would look like it's shaking a lot while on the move. It's disturbing my timing on playing the game. Previously on JB 4.1.2, the notes rarely move so shakily like that even in far more intense songs. I have tried to turn off many stock apps. My internal storage is still 8 GBs free. I already tried to close all other applications before launching the game. I never limit my CPU performance. I already tried turning off power saving. Already tried to tick force GPU rendering in Dev option. Already tried to play after I cooled down my Tab 3. But none helps.
Is there any solution for me, preferably without the need of rooting and without any good risk of breaking my device?
Thanks.
