[Q] some questions about roms - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Hi there, I have some questions about roms of sony xperia s.
where can I get the newest offical firmware like this: LT26i(4.0.4)_6.1.A.2.55_Generic_SG(1257-6921).rar (.elf file)
can I use Flashtool to flash these offical firmware ?
what dose ICS17.elf mean? I have flashed this file by using fastboot, and got my phone rooted and got a CMW recovery.
many thanks

1. Get it from Here
2. Yes, sure.
3. ICS17 is the modified stock kernel added more features than stock one

Hold on.......
If you've flashed the ics17 kernel then you've unlocked the bootloader yes?
Then scrap off any ics rom and flash Jellybean

Is there any stock Jellybean for Xperia S?

Not official Sony if that's what you mean?

I need official Sony 's rom.

I see. Then flashing the 55 ftf would be best. How come you must have Sony only?

Custom kernel on locked bootloader

Hello world,
I want to install this custom rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1836993)
The problem is that i'm running the official 2.4.3 android version from sony. They still haven't released the update to ICS for my country
My bootloader is locked and i'm unable to unlock it without paying (Bootloader unlock allowed: No)
Is it possible that i install any custom kernels? Or can i maunally update to ICS, and get the stock ICS kernel? I would install the custom rom with the stock ICS kernel.
I would be thankful if you send me a link for downloading the official ICS and its kernel.
My phone is the Xperia Arc S (LT18i)
Thanks!
No unlocked bootloader, no custom kernel.

Yes, if it is fully stock and officially signed kernel.
That is - you can only flash that kernel via Flashtool .FTF file.
No other way.

No - ICS on the 2011 Xperia line-up is worthless and not worth it.

If you do want to give ICS a try, flash tool is the first link. The second link is ftf file for LT18i. (The kernel is embedded in to the ftf file). Flash tool is very simple and walks you through the steps.

I do agree with the previous posts by the way that it is slower, but I like the features

Every fully stock and signed kernel can be installed with locked bootloader. GB and ICS.

[Q] Xperia ZL - does not reboot after upgrade to Android 4.2

Hi -
I read a lot of threads on how to upgrade the Xperia ZL to Android 4.2.x prior to posting this. My phone is now "rooted" and has the "ClockWorkMod" recovery properly installed. I would say all the procedure about the upgrade was carefully followed!
The problem is the final step, the Xperia ZL does not reboot at all. The process say it should take five to 15 minutes for the first boot, in fact I left the phone overnight at this stage but nothing happened.
Many procedure tried with the same result and I always end up restoring the phone from back up to the original version.
Here are some info if it helps:
Xperia ZL - Model C6502
Android v - 4.1.2
Build Number 10.1.A.1.434
ClockWorkMod v6.0.3.0
Flashtool v0.9.11.0 - used for rooting
I would really apreciate if you can help me flash the Android v4.2
Regards,
Dennis
There's is no 4.2.2 upgrade for ZL

You can't flash a ftf file in cwm, but there are flashable stock roms available like this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2425192

Use Flashtool. It's the best and safest way. Dont flash a ROM, through CWM.
That's Right!!

Flash stock .96 FW via flashtools....
Flash recovery by doomlord or doomkernel for either locked Bl or unlocked depending upon your bootloader..This way you'll retain .96 FW and CWM..via CWM fix root permissions...and you get what you wanted...

After flashing PA 4.2.2 or any other rom in fact, you can easily go back to Sony's stock firmware by using Flashtool by Androxyde or even Sony's official Flashtool.
