It does, just touch the focus point you want and then take the picture. It will do it by itself with the are you selected.

Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thx for helping
Is that in the stock camera app?
Try manually reducing the exposure to see if that helps. That's highlight clipping, but to see that in a photo out of a stock camera app is bizarre .

Strange indeed. Perhaps try a digital photography forum. Maybe someone can identify this issue . I'd hate for it to be a hardware problem. Good luck

Yes indeed..but am thinking about driver problem..ok.thanks anyway
I think the camera quality isn't a hardware problem but a software one. E.g. in darkness the camera doesn´t turn on the light when focussing.
In system/lib/hw is a file (camera.msm.8960.so) which should be changed but i'm not able to do this. There must be played with the values. Some clever guys did this in for other phones before.
My phone before was the LG 2x and in that forum they raised quality above 200% of the original one.
I attache the file to work with. Maybe here are some insiders too.
...the only problem is that the camera does not focus when the flash comes in darkness. Or it focuses too early or too late. When you turn on the flashlight on the phone permanently and take a photo, everything is fine. The problem is in CM 10.1 and 10.2.
Isn´t here somebody who knows a trick?

In focal camera you have the option to turn on flash as a torch. I turn it on then take a picture. That fixed for me but I have to agree. The camera quality is bad. Something must be done.
Just use a 3rd party camera app.

I tried some 3rd party apps but that didn't solve the problem that the camera doesn't focus when using the flash. This seems not to be an app problem, it's in the files from the rom like I attached above.
Or do you have a suggestion for an app that solves the problem with focus in darkness?

Hmmm...as for me I don't have that issue. I am using Epsilon V3 ROM by core720, which is based on stock. For camera app, I use snap camera hdr and the new focal camera.

Ok, I tried that rom which is very great, very smooth. Nice. But the camera is still not focussing right with the stock cam or snap camera hdr in darkness at my side. It surely is not an app problem...
Anyone else had camera focus issues, the camera app focus nice when I click on the screen, but when it takes the picture it jumps out of focus.
Really easy to see if you try and take close picture of a paper with text, focus, and take the picture, then you see how bad it turns up.
Tried installing zoom fx camera app, here I was not able to focus at the text at all with the touch on screen to focus.
Anyone know of a fix, real bummer going back to stock after trying the room.
But I need a working camera.

Hi,
I am using LG G3 D855 every thing is working fine except for the camera, the auto focus feature no longer works. Camera focus is like fixed on the minimum value.
I have tried factory reset and
Roms : Cloudy G3 \ reserection
Apps : Google camera, x cam
Mods : G3 Camera Mod
but no result, any solution ?

To clarify, is the auto focus or the touch to focus not working or both?

After rooting I never paid attention to auto focus so I don't remember if that broke it, but touch to focus still worked and continues to work. Have you tried other camera apps?
Sent from my LG-D851

When you open the camera is the laser still firing? Look at the back. When any camera app is open you should see the laser module shooting (flashing) red.

Does anyone know which is the best camera app for Video Recording. Gcam has aggressive continuous autofocus and I didn't any option to turn it off.
Anyone here who can help?
The stock cam has the tap to focus setting which will stop the autofocus hunting.

You can check, I don't know if Moto camera is better than stock camera.
Open camera with stabilization enabled. By far the best. You can shoot bit rate and lock exposure.
