I was planning to do a recovery from a good backup. Hit wipe system and that file is, and the current rom, is gone. I have no running OS but I can get into TeamWin Recovery. Can't seem to usb mount from there to drop a rom in though. I know I'm not bricked but I don't know what to do from here. Can I get some help? Thanks!
You'd be better off downloading a stock restore tar, or One-Click restore and using download/ODIN mode. Look at rwilco12's repository, and the sxtape threads in this forum for files and guides.

Even though I'm already rooted and in teamwin? If I do what you said will i have to root again? Thanks for the help.
Yep... You're going to have to re-root anyway if you wiped your system and data partitions. You have no backup, so you should rebuild from the ground up. Use billard's LJC stock recovery w/count reset. Then use the root toolkit to re-root. Before rooting, you might want to take the OTA update to MA7.

I'm rooted again and installing Mack all star rom right now. Thanks for helping me get started swalter!
Yeah I was gonna say, if you already have twrp you can just pop any already rooted rom you want on your sd card and flash away.

For some reason my twrp won't let me select external sd is there a workaround for that? I would have tried that before even coming here.

Welcome!
Hello, these roms were made in order for people to have recovery-flashable zips of stock roms (not having to rely on tars and Odin). These roms are compiled from Odex and Deodex system dumps and have no other mods besides root, busybox and recovery.
***Disclaimer***
I am not responsible for any damage, be it mental, physical, mechanical, etc caused by the flashing of this rom. If you flash it, you do so at your own risk. Glad we could get that out of the way
If any developers want to use these as a base rom, there is no need to ask. Just grab em and go. I made these for themers and other rom developers who don't usually work at making the rom itself, but taking what's there and making it better. I hope it helps out!
First the shout outs:
CNZ (RoadRAGEN) - Updater Script, Odex & Deodex Dump
ptfdmedic - Deodex System Dump
bubby323 and chris41g - for use of kernels and general help.
k0nane - noCIQ mod.
thefredelment, phantomfreak53, darren.wsln1 and lballer59 - Help identifying issues.
And of course the Testers:
henbone11(WR47HANZ), COMEDY, lovinlissa1984, geraldweb, lballer59 and banksj174
The Goods:
Okay, the goods:
EG30 Stock Deodex with root, recovery, busybox WITH No CIQ
EG30 Stock Deodex with root, recovery, busybox WITHOUT the No CIQ mod
EG30 Stock Odex with root, recovery and busybox
The Download links:
Download links can be found here at the ACS Forums!
(Download links to prior versions are in post 2 over there)
Changelog and Features
Version 1 and 2 changelogs in the 2nd post
Changelog
Re-added bubby323's kernel so it is a pure stock rom with ONLY clockwork 5 recovery (no additional features) (all 3 roms)
Removed all non-stock apks and replaced all missing stock apks (only required for the deodex roms)
[/LIST]
Features
Android Version 2.3.4
Kernel Build: bubby323's stock with cwm 5
Rooted with SU v3.0 with fully updated binaries(thanks to cnz(RoadRAGEN))
busbox latest version(thanks to cnz(RoadRAGEN)
ClockworkMod Reocvery version v5.x (thanks to bubby323's kernel)
No-CIQ mod (one of the deodex roms only)(thanks to k0nane)
All stock apps/widgets included (I have removed nothing that came stock)
Pick Which SD Card You Want Recovery to Read
For now, the recovery on the kernels in these roms tells CWM to read from the internal memory card. If you want it to read from the external memory card go here and download the "Latest Compiled Version". Flash in Odin and CWM will work with the external sd card. These roms run the link under "Older releases".
Installation Instructions
For those who just wanna use it as their daily drivers, here's the installation instructions:
ALWAYS MAKE A NANDROID BEFORE YOU FLASH ANYTHING!!!!! <-----Words to flash by.
1. Download rom, put it on your phone.
2. Boot into recovery.
3. FULL WIPE IS REQUIRED. Data AND cache AND dalvik.
3.5 Go back and make sure step 3 has been completed
4. Flash rom.
5. reboot and enjoy
**Warning**
The flash process and first boot takes a minute. Be patient, it will work!
Known Issues
Okay, for whatever reason, the deodex w/NoCIQ just will not install the MyFiles.apk. This doesn't sound significant. However, without it, the contacts app will Force Close when you attempt to assign a custom ringtone to a contact. There are two workarounds:
1. Get a different file manager, navigate to the sound and manually assign it to a contact.
2. Find the apk (it's in every flashable rom) and install it onto your phone manually.
I will attempt to fix it once an update comes out and I'm forced to play with these roms again. Until then, the workaround works just as well. (thanks lballer59 for finding the problem).

How to flash if I am not rooted stock?

Thank you for you hard work And i totaly agree with what you said in your OP.
And the only prob i see is you are using buddy'2 kernel + cmw. From what i understand, and PLEASE correct me if im wrong, THat kenel is still a hack of source and initrams from int sg2. The jury still seems 2b out on wether or not there r issuse with that.
Im still currently looking for totaly stock kernel +root+cmw. IF i new how to make, I would.
again correct me if im wrong and thank you.

From my understanding the kernel is built from stock source not the sgs2. However, the cwm is built using the sgs2 binaries to save time. I know a new version is being worked on. I have been using Bubby's stock cwm for about a week and it is working great. Using a jig removed the exclamation mark and the i9100 screen so I am happy where I am. But I am looking forward to a new release that is completely stock with hopefully nothing but boot animation support and init.d. I hate having root and busybox built into the kernel. Just a personal issue.

CWM first?
Do I need to flash CWM first for this to work? In that case which CWM should I use? I see two versions available.
Thanks.

Yes. I use Bubby's.
Looking for something Stable... Hope I find it here ( ACS are normally stable ) giving it a shot now! Thanks
So far, this seems to be the closest we can get, without actually getting there.
I have tried Zedomax, and had a few LOS', no big deal, but I went back to stock.
If I go back to Zedomax (CWM, SuperUser, Root), can I flash this in CWM and have a completely stock rom with CWM, SuperUser, and Root WITH the stock kernel?
Thanks in advance.

Got your developers backwards lol. Zedomax's first kernel was from source and initramfs from the SGSII international. I pulled the initframfs myself for bubby's kernel, it's stock I promise

Hi there!
First you must be rooted. If you're not you need to go to one of our root methods and get rooted and get recovery. Then you just flash these in recovery However, I will make the instructions a little more detailed for ya.
Hi guys!
UPDATE: Now includes busybox.
Enjoy!!

This is stock rom with TouchWiz and Bubby's completely stock rooted kernel. CM is made fro AOSP (Android Open Source Project) source and then ported to a phone. So, CM won't be using this at all lol.
crap!
UPDATE 2 - back in business. needed to flash stock kernel/rom then let it encrypt, then tell it to decrypt, then re-root, re-flash, back to normal again.
I have a problem, I really hope someone can help.
I followed the directions here, and everything worked great.
i was rocking the rom for about a day and then I noticed in settings that I had an option to "encrypt the phone" so stupidly (and obvoiusly not thinking) i did it and was thrown into a boot loop.
I tried rebooting, and nothing.
I tried booting to recovery, and wiping all, and then reflashing this rom. - nothing
I tried doing the volume down and power, then the volume up thing, and then I reapplied the zImage using heimdall and nothing.
Currently - all I can get to is recovery, I can't mount the the phone (nothing shows up on the computer, maybe because it is encrypted?) So I can't even copy something to the phone to try to flash it
Any ideas? - really deperate here, I can't believe I pulled such a newbie move.
Downloading this as soon as I can. Thanks for your hard work!

I'm also going to PM with these instructions so I can be sure they get to you faster.
Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1282420
download the stock tarball made by crawrj
boot into download mode (volume down + power)
Odin that tar. It'll return you to pure stock (unrooted, stock everything). You should be able to boot then. Do a factory reset once you do (to wipe everything), then you should have a functioning phone to re-root and do whatcha want. Let me know if that works.
Thank you so much OP. I flashed to v4 of Zedomax, then I flashed your ROM in CWM, and now I have everything. CWM, SuperUser, and all of my root apps are working on a deodexed ROM!!!
Thanks again.

I just installed Blu Kuban, LOVE the ROM. But the Rom updater does not work for me. The files download and when I click on Reboot and install it goes to recovery and then tries to install but I get a Triangle (too fast to read what it says is the error). If i go into Root explorer i can install the files there and they work fine, but that seems like the long way to it... lol. I did the wipe all etc for a clean install. Are you running the stock kernel that came with the ROM or have you installed one of the repacks that are floating around out there?
Also, which version are you running? Have you applied all the updates (including the separate file in his OP for the Updater update)?
(Going to dinner soon, if you reply and I don't respond quickly that will be why)
Basically I got a notification earlier today about the new update but im rooted and have twrp so it wouldnt let me. So basically what im thinking of doing is if I put the stock recovery on I can triangle away and then ota update and still remain stock rooted. I know I can just flash the update but I heard some files might be missing amd im a little ocd and would just prefer to get it the legit way for my own knowledge . But my question is flashing to the default recovery will it erase all of my data? If it does are there anyways that I can restore the recovery amd keep my saved files and app saves and such. No, flashing stock recovery won't erase your data.
Nevertheless, you should save anandroid from trwp on your computer just in case.

Here's what you do:
1) Backup all apps & data w titanium.
2) Boot into recovery (TWRP)
3) Backup all partitions (including efs & modem) to you EXTERNAL SD.
4) Flash the LJC Factory Restore zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2086769
*This will restore your phone to original factory condition, with no evidence that you ever rooted or modified the phone.
Boot the phone back up with minimal settings (i.e don't bother restoring all your stuff) then reboot to recovery and flash the LJCtoMA7 All in One zip found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2148604. After that, flash the MA7 ROM, and boot back into the system. In Settings > About Device you should see your baseband and build upgraded to MA7. Now just restore your apps and data from Titanium.

It will not. I just did this today. Had to run triangle away first. Then unrooted using superuser clean up method. Then installed stock recovery. Galaxynote2root.com makes it easy. They even have the stock recovery for the sprint note 2.

Hi-
I am trying to flash the new Wicked Sensations 4.3 v.2 BETA. I've followed the steps of flashing the newest version of TWRP and the new MK3 Modem as listed here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2581010
Also, I've done the typical wipe cache, system, Dalvik, Data.
When I select Install to flash Wicked Sensations Rom MK3 v.0.2 in TWRP, it fails after about 10 secs. I've downloaded it a few times and even tried it on different SD cards. It still fails. Any ideas of what the problem could be? Thank you..

Thanks for the help. However, I am still having issues. I flashed the latest version of TWRP 2.6.3.0, installed the MK3 Modem. Since my problems started, I have downloaded the WS beta rom v2 multiple times. I have wiped the cache, Dalvik, etc. before flashing and it has failed over and over. I redownloaded the latest TWRP again and the MK3 modem and tried to flash those again thinking that perhaps my first install of TWRP 2.6.3.0 was bad. Now all Flashing in TWRP fails.
Any ideas? I've done a few searches and I haven't found really anything helpful yet. Thanks again

Ok sound like you're recovery is corrupt. You gotta find a.tar of a recovery that you can flash using Odin. Not due where one is I'll look and report back when I find one.

Ok what I would do....go to the download link and get the the latest tar file and flash using Odin. Then if you choose to flash back to twrp make sure you use the latest and flash that zip and you soul be able to use your backups. I thought I heard you being able too use twrp back ups using Philz recovery...but don't quote me on that. Read that thread...I've heard really good things about it.
Good luck!

No N3, N4 or S5 stuff. No Theming. Not sure if I'll go there on this ROM.

Almost Naked ROM IS POSTED BELOW. It has the stuff removed from ButtNaked.
Like Books, Flipboard, Magazines, SVoice, etc. All ATT crap will be stripped out.
I'm still learning what the changes were on NJ1. The camera feels like it takes pictures faster, a little quicker to respond for the next pic.
INSTALLATION
Instructions are the same as any other Custom ROM.
If you are on stock kernel it will probably hang. It should not if you are on AGNi kernel.
Download for AGNi kernel

IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO FLASH Version 4.3.0 YET ! So use the 4.2.8 listed above

https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/t0lteatt/ (Latest version looks like 6.48.6. I have 6.41.6 on my phone. I will test with that) Either one should work fine.
Install instructions: Credit: ATT DN5 Team @sawdoctor and @Bajanman
You need to have Samsung 4.3 Bootloader or newer.
Make sure you have the latest TWRP/CWM recovery installed.
Next, remember to backup your apps and your efs folder. That's something that you always should do before flashing anything.
Go to TWRP/CWM recovery via pressing home + power + volume up button at the same time.
Make a Nandroid backup of your working system, if you haven't done so.
Its best to do a clean install for any new Rom (clean installation recommended includes internal storage)
In TWRP Recovery hit wipe, and slide to factory data reset system. (Internal won't be touched fyi)
In PHILZ Recovery Format Internal SDCard (in mounts and storage) and do Factory reset (I will install a new ROM option in PhilZ)
(Reminder) Remember that everything you flash you do it at your own risk so do your research before flashing anything!!
Now find the location of the Rom on your external and install it.
Flashing the Rom zip.
It should take less than 10 minutes till it boots...

Happy you like it. The Shift kernel works well also. Not trying to take anything away from AGNi, just pointing out another great solution.

No mobile connection after flashing
I've flashed PSN_AGNi_pureSTOCK-v4.2.8_N7105_4.4.x_AROMA.zip, Buttnaked-NJ1.zip, ATT-I317UCUBMJ4-Modem.zip (per instructions after flashing Buttnaked-NJ1.zip), and AlmostNakedFix.zip, in that order, but I get no mobile connection. I'm using CWM 6.0.4.1 and the phone is rooted. I also tried flashing CWM-I317UCUCNJ1.zip, but it didn't make any difference. I'm on AT&T.
When I go to view mobile networks, it says I need to insert a SIM, even though it is already inserted. There is no IMEI number listed, even though my SIM is inserted and mobile worked before flashing. Any help will be appreciated.

I'm running DS_AN Rom with AGNi N7105 4.3.1r2 with no issues. Also ran on AGNi v4.2.8.... however, when I tried upgrading AGNi to v4.3.7, ran into the no SIM no data issue. See my post 2340 in the N7105 AGNi kernel thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58511272&postcount=2340
Try reflashing kernel (like AGNi v4.2.4) or previous last known working boot partition from a backup if you have one. I was able to fix my issue by just reflashing last known working boot partition. .. then IMEI and SIM were again recognized. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply.
I found (somewhere) that flashing CM10.2 would fix this, and it worked in my case. I have no clear idea why. After that, I was able to flash another Android 4.4.X ROM and it continued to work, but after flashing Buttnaked again, it stopped working again. Maybe I'll try again next week if time permits.

I found this on the Galaxy Y GT-S5360 forum thread (so don't flash the zips in the OP on the ATT Note2!)... but found it interesting and perhaps a reason a few folks are seeing "no SIM" and "unknown IMEI" issues after flashing the newer versions of the AGNi N7105 kernel on the stock (NE5 or NJ1) ATT rom.

Something to do with the RIL files being mis-matched. Not sure, but perhaps the RIL files are missing/corrupted causing the problem... just not sure where to obtain the latest RIL files for the ATT stock firmware or which RIL files should be loaded on the ATT firmware to get it to work.
