[Q] Games lag on jb roms - HTC One V

so i've noticed that on sense based roms, games run pretty well. I usually use the kernel inside the rom or sick kernel and OC to about 1400. However, when im using cm10 or any other JB rom, games don't run very smooth. For example, i'm using provision with the included boot.img and games are always somewhat choppy/freezing until i have to reboot. It's impossible to use the rom at 245/1024 because it lags so much, so i try 245/1200,245/1400, 1497,1700, 1900, and even the 2000 but it only helps a little and the games usually ends up freezing. Is there anything i could try to do?

[Q] play running extremely slow :(

Hey guys, I've had my play for just over a year, I've installed countless roms and had a ball doing it. Unfortunately I think the old girl is struggling to keep up with the last couple of custom roms, cm9.1 and mark phyton's un/official ICS rom. The latter is the one I am running now and even after a reinstall it is nearly unusable, it's extremely laggy and freezes on apps like facebook, kindle and youtube. Ram sits at 30-40mb free, I have link2sd running to free up internal memory and am overclocked to 1.2ghz with setcpu. I know ICS is pushing the limits of the play's capabilities but I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be this bad can anyone suggest anything to try to get better performance please?
ICS roms are not suitable for the play. If u want better performance use a GB rom instead

facebook uses alot of resources...also markphytons unofficial rom is quite good I use to have around 130 mb free ram...the rom comes with a very nice app called pimp my rom which it has a good few options into speeding up the rom very handy....

[Q] TDKR and NFS Most Wanted problem

I have a problem with both games installed, I need to install chainfire3d so that NFS MW would work (black screen problem), but when I install chainfire3d, TDKR shows graphical problems, I tried messing with the per-app setting but still no progress
What should I to so I can keep both games without switching chainfire3d on and off? thanks in advance
In case you need my device's details:
R800i
ROM: NXT 1.3 LE
Kernel: DooMKernel

You are using a very good gaming rom and one of the best kernels out there. I dont think there is a need for chainfire. When you enable chainfire it tries to reduce the graphics for better performance but in TDKR it will only mess it up.
I dont really know what the problem is. Have you tried overclocking??
I use chainfire so that I can play NFS most wanted, I'm getting the black screen problem (only UI and taillights are visible) if I don't use chainfire with the powerVR plugin
Solution? Use de-bloated stock ROM. Nuff said.

Excuse me, is there a MORE debloated stock rom than NXT LE???
I admire the talents of our devs but I just don't trust custom ROMs. Debloated as they may be, devs usually add features that are not to my liking. If you ask TLRTheory, he'll tell you the same... That the best ROM is stock ROM. My point here is that to be able to properly play games without having to add mods and tweaks time and again is to play using a stock ROM debloated to the brim so as to boost performance.

As much as I respect tlrtheory an like his viedeos on YouTube I would have to disagree with you both nxt le is the fastest rom I've ever used more so than a debloated stock
But tbh it does all come down to personal opinion
And the joy of of being able to tweak stuff to get Better performance and even messing up really bad and having to start over again is good learning but again everything comes down to opinion and preference

[Q] Kernel and apps issue

Hi
I try a lot of rom, with lot of kernel.
Now i using, xylon 14 stable.
My problem is, when i playing some big game (for example:NFS Most Wanted), on stock rom(4.2.1JOP40D, with stock kernel) running very well.
Now with xylon14 - leankernel(stock in the xylon) it's a lil bit laggy, now tried the zen(v15) kernel, and the game looks awesome (motion blur, water in the road), but the game running maybe 10fps.
i'm tried with other kernel governor setting up like the 4.2.1 stock kernel. But nothing changed.
I'm really wan't play with MW, but i wan't stay on xylon.
what i need to do ?
thanks

[Q] bad perfomance?

Hi there,
I don't know, if it's my imagination, but I think the tegra3 is not powerful enough to play games like "Need for Speed" or "Shadowgun THD". While playing I'm experiencing fps-drops and laggy tracking shots in cutscenes. I've also tested the gaming boost app, which changed nothing in my opinion.
When I look at a friend's Nexus4, everything is buttery smooth. But: 1080p playback with BS-Player also works smooth as hell on my HOX (with MHL to my TV too). So I think, it's a little bit strange, that I can't play properly.
Someone also encountering this gaming-issue or is it just me?
Well the problem is sense is very heavy requires more ram and htc stock kernel doesn't make the most of the phone so if you want to take most out of your phone flash an aosp rom with ncx kernel repacked for it

Thanks for your answer. But I would miss sense a lot. So is there any chance of a + in performance with a sense rom?
If you are on stock there is not much I can suggest for you to do. With certain games like need for speed, modern combat etc. it is up to the game developer to optimise it for the device. Unfortunately with some of them like Gameloft there games are not properly optimised for the one x.
If you are rooted and on a custom rom though, there are other possibilities. You can go for a non sense rom like Cyanogenmod, stripped down versions of sense like Renovate, or there are even mods which speed up the device like Renovate gaming boost.

A rom without sense makes no sense to me.
I've already tried the gaming boost-app, but didn't notice any effects.
make sure you havnt got powersave mode on.
Also if your rooted flash this through recovery -

Yes, it could definitely improve it if it has this issue.

Try it, and let me know if there's any difference. Sounds like this might be an issue. The zip only cleans the free space and makes it writable again. Over time it becomes unusable, fstrim repairs it. Doesn't do any harm.
It may be another problem, but this is likely.

I tried all steps mentioned in the first paragraph, changed nothing (instead of much more battery-heat).

[Q] Which GB rom and kernel are the best for gaming?

My question is the same as the title, but I'm kind of confused as to which rom for GB is for gaming. I know about Xperia NXT Gaming edition and Bane of Speed, but I just can't figure out which would run the best. The same thing goes for with the kernels. If anyone could help, I would appreciate it muchly. Thanks!

what types of game that u really want to play if u get a gaming rom?
I agree, there are way too many roms and kernels for the xplay, even though i was pretty happy with my debloated stock rom, it still didnt had recovery or the ability to overclock/tweak so i decided to first try a kernel: doomkernel v14. It is only the kernel so you can keep everything (apps&data) including the rom and still tweak it. I also installed V6 supercharger script but this might be too complicated to configure for most. So i suggest, first try doomkernel v14, it gives you recovery so you can flash any rom you want if you are still not satisfied with it.

Like, emulation and other straining things. I'm also thinking about overclocking and getting an extended battery too, but I don't want it to explode from overclocking. I'm thinking about trying 1.6 ghz at first and trying it at 1.8.

Ultimate HD v6 is the best one I ever tryed, you can easily get 150mb free ram with whatsapp and messenger open, when you use greenify is 213mb. And also this rom have great battery life even overclocked at 1,2 , this ROM is good for daily use and gaming(emulators and android games in general).
