Hey guys, I'm back again with a question.
So, some people that has "addicted" to this device loves this device so much, so even if he/she lost it. They will buy a new one.
As for user who can't afford it, they usually will stop. But in my question here,
Is there any emulator that can emulate our Galaxy W 100% (or 90%) ?
So devs/users that lost/gave it to the others/sold it can still contribute here.
Regards,
Kreaz

Yep, that's my point. So I'm looking for it. The one which simulates the 'behavior' of any device. So it will act like it is really 352 MB (depending on RAM the device has), and it acts like: 'Whoa! I have to be overclocked! It's still has some lag!' or 'Hmm, this game is not supporting me ' or whatever do you imagine that.

I feel the same way. The stock ICS seems to be a lot faster than the MCR's at the moment - not sure why.
The only reason to root is to get things such as Ad Free, Full Backups, Underclock CPU when screen off, Apply Paul's UI tweaks.
Obviously things will grow in the future. If you do it now, then you dont risk the chance of losing the ability to in the future (doubtful that will ever happen with a Nexus)

I will only root if a kernel with ridiculous battery life surfaces. Otherwise this may be the first Android phone I really see no reason rooting. Strange thought.

AdFree is pretty silly IMO. Blocking connections using the host file? Really? I guess the creators don't know what a firewall is or how to use iptables.
Would any of the devs be interested in donations to help bring this port to the T-mobile GS III? I would be happy to donate as I see this as an interesting port. I never had a phone with Sense and would at least like the opportunity to try it with our wonderful hardware. I know there are people that are entirely against sense and would say, just buy a phone with sense, but I like my GSIII's hardware as well. I like it's size, screen and camera and think its cool to be able to try other types of software on our phones. If any dev's are interested, I know they could use some help over at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1764005. Only one of the Devs have a GSIII so it is taking quite a while to remove all the bugs. Thanks in advance

The same reason why people want AOKP or MiUi. People could buy a Nexus or iOS, but the whole point is about options. Simple as that.

Hey everyone
so i have been in contact with the dev of PGM2.. he makes a kernel mod that allows you to swipe to turn off/on screen etc instead of using buttons
heres the link to his thread for the nexus: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721895
i essentially was talking to him to see if he would be willing to make us an app for our sgs3 devices... as i personally hate using buttons for fear of them breaking or wearing out on me... so i wanted to do this poll to see who would be interested in this kind of thing...
the dev needs to gauge interest to see if people would even want it to make it work his time...
please people, make sure to vote and voice your opinions as i would LOVE to have this ported over from the nexus
thanks!!
Come on people. Vote it up! Vote yes! Lol

Yea. I didn't figure it out too. Then I finally found out that you swipe across the screen to make it work. And I don't see YOU developing something to fix this, give thanks for what you have.

I dont have to develope anything. There is someone that is willing to port an already existing app to our devices. Don't have to be rude. I'm saying that the one in the kernel currently isn't developed to its full potential... a little competition didn't hurt anyone...

No android and Ubuntu are 2 different things. They are both Linux but different. The good think about Ubuntu OS is that it runs with arm hardware that's present in android meaning that android phones should be able to run it. I'll be waiting for it to hit and get ported to a bunch of android devices. It will run gloriously on existing android and our s3 once ported. But all we do noe is sit back, enjoy our phones and just wait

Definitely looking forward to this. It also states in the articles that it is the full blown operating system obviously customized appropriately for the interface but I'm looking forward to a full set of terminal commands instead of a condensed busy box.
One of the articles I think pointed to a Nexus in the next few weeks having a download available...not sure if that's true but I'm hoping our famous XDA devs can snag that and work their magic.

Petition to XDA to approach Canonical?
What I would like to see is to see what the interest of the developers at XDA to get their hands on the Ubuntu for Android or the Ubuntu OS for the phones, and then create a petition for XDA to get in contact with Canonical see if there is a possibility to get the XDA developers involved in the forming of Ubuntu OS for the mobile. Just imagine what that could do to help getting Ubuntu out there for mobile devices. I mean. I'm pretty sure we have a bunch of power users out there that would like to beta test it for Canonical.

Most definitely not. I used to own a number of Apple products. Their iOS setup blows. It was amazing 7 years ago or whenever the first iOS device came out, but not anymore. The only thing I still like about my old Apple devices is the click wheel for my first gen iPod Nano. Sadly though, there was a recall on them, but I got a higher capacity new one.

"I sent him a PM. Thanks I am glad to be here. The GN2 is an amazing phone with limitless possibilities. Today I ported ubuntu touch to the Gn2 I am going to clean it up before or if I release it. It was very easy to change it over to compile for our phones, ubuntu touch is fast sometimes and slow others. As far as I can tell those issues have nothing to do with anything I changed in porting so that would make it an upstream bug. Gonna have to wait for canonical to push out a new release.

Exactly. I made a build but I wont post it because it take far too long to go back and forth to a regular rom and there are far to many upstream bugs.
