[Q] Low space warning - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all.
I've just flashed the new 'test' version of [ROM/MOD 4.0.4][Stable Android 4.0.4 with good video recording][v3 13.02.2013] but whenever I try to download an app of about 40Mb I get a low storage warning, even though I have over 600Mb showing as internal memory!
Any ideas?
I would have posted in the ROM thread but can't as not enough posts yet :crying:

ur cache is full, try using an app that removes cache, something like cache cleaner NG from market, or clean manager. this should solve ur problem

Hi, thanks for the suggestion
I've just tried cache cleaner NG and cleared my cache but still won't install 40Mb+ apps! any other ideas??

Does anyone else find that their phone shuts off on version 3 and 3.1 ?? only restarts with a battery pull! or is this just me

I have this problem too with MildWild but there is available space. Test internal, external or automatic for apps.

AW: [Q] Low space warning
Try using mounts2sd, it can also move cache2ext
The desire has only 40mb cache on stock

if you download and transfer the apk to your sd card and then install it using any file manager it should work
thats how i get around that problem

thats the strange thing, i have 900 mb free :/
Do you have 900Mb free on your internal phone memory, or your microSD card?
Downloading apps will require free internal memory.
This actually seems like a ROM related problem.
Similar problems were faced with Custom Jellybean ROMs, one of which was Gimmeabreak.
Try checking with the thread from which you got your custom ROM to see if anyone has suffered a similar problem.
Wiping your cache and dalvik cache and clearing your playstore data is also worth a shot:fingers-crossed:
Good luck and hope I could help :good:

[Q] 51mb free, yet apps won't install due to memory shortage!

I am running Leedroid 3.08.2 A2SD, which has been running well to date.
I had a problem with Dolphin HD browser yesterday, when it kept force closing when i tried to use it. I unistalled it and tried to restore from Titanium backup, but was told there was not enough memory available to install. I tried to download the app from the market, but same result.
I am puzzled as I have lots of free space. Quick Sytem Info reports the following
A2SD 127mb free
Internal 51mb free
System 22mb free
Sys Cache 31mb free
I have tried to install some other apps and had similar problems. I have rebooted, but that makes no difference.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Any possible solutions?
Cheers
I have no real solution here, never had such a problem...
I would try to wipe /cache in recovery and try installation again.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately it hasn't solved the problem.
While I was trying 3 other apps updated with no problem!

Would a wipe of dalvik-cache not help ? After a restart, it should makes a change.
Please note that 1st boot after this wipe will be longuer as the dalvik-cache will be reconstructed, but then boot time will be normal.
Seen that silly message a long time ago with MIUI and used a script to move dalvik to SD-ext which solved the problem. In this case, this might be different as Sense is used, but problem might still be linked to dalvik-cache...
Thanks for the suggestion ouglouck. Tried this and still having the same problem. Managed to install a couple of new apps, but still can't get Dolphin to install!

[Q] It's a big Problem

The internal memory is full
can I move app to sd card without make root to my phone
thanks to all
It's a big problem... that everyone on this forum has experienced!
And yes you can. Try this. (link)
Use App2SD and clear cache regularly after using the Market.
Thanx for this
Do a factory reset, it cleared ~130mb on my wfs.
After installing all apps I need, I'm on about 30mb now.

Or DATA2whatever to get 1GB 'internal'

[Q] big problem with cache

Hi all,
I've got a problem with my cache partition i think ( after reading a bit ).
When i tried to install an app today it said: not enough space.
Had this error before and deleted market updates, cache and files.
Now i'm back at the old market but the apps I try to install only download and then jsut nothing, they don't install or anything. The market itself also won't update.
When i wen't to the recovery i get the error that it can't find the cache, i also can't mount cache. Without the sd card it doesn't work either.
The only thing i did today was moving some apps from phone to sd .
I never touched any partition or anything.
What's going on here?
Btw. phone is: r800i unlocked bootloader, doomkernel v8, stock rom, 1,4ghz stable
Grz Milan
Use flashtool, see if you can just flash cache, if not flash a whole rom, should fix the issue.

tnx man it worked,
Kinda weird because i tried it before but then i got an error in flashtool.
Maybe because I did a nandroid before or just bad luck.
Anyway tnx !!!
Do you know what caused this trouble?
Because i get a 32gb micro sd tomorrow and i wan't to move some app2sd.
But don't want to end up the same

Sometimes when you flash a rom, cache partition does not get flashed proply, so it can lead to having less space in cache than is being reported.

Do you have an external SD? Or one way is to wipe internal storage. That may help. *****BE SURE TO BACKUP ANY IMPORTANT FILES!****

I have a 16GB external... I have played around with it for a bit and noticed its only apk files that I try installing are doing this

I had this problem on a previous device. Sometimes booting into recovery and wiping the dalvik and cache partitions did the trick for me. The issue would surface when I started approaching the limit of the internal memory.
