Just disable all internet connection, and accept the update.
So nothing happend, and you can cancel the progress, make a reboot and these message disappears

[Q] Taking Screenhots

Hi,
I'm wondering if there is some easy way to take screenshots.
Other Samsung devices have a shortcut for this: http://opensourcehacker.com/2011/02...g-galaxy-s-and-other-samsung-android-devices/
The Glide seems not to have.
So is there any other way? E.g. by defining some app in "Settings > Applications > Quick launch" ?
Or is "Screenshot" an app, removed in OsiMood-Rom?
I use the 'Home + Power key' combo to take screenshots. No special apps installed. Screenshots are saved in the 'ScreenCapture' folder.
mhh ok... my glide seems to recognize this home+power shortcut but it throws me an error:
The application com.sec.android.app.screencapture has stopped unexpectedly
:-/
Sorry for your trouble. I've soft-bricked my phone several times tooling with apps I shouldn't have and such, and I am rooted on the Craniam OC Kernel and the stock rooted ROM, but I've never had issues with screen capture working. I don't know how extensive your mods are, but is it possible some app manager is freezing some component of the system that screen capture needs? Shot in the dark but I hope you get answers.

if you have OsiMood or INC3PTION, you wont be able to use the HOME + POWER for screenshots for it is considered to be a bloatware so removed....you can search the Glide forums for the screenshot.apk found in stock ROM.
Errrr....just take the attached file and put it in /system/app
^^^^^
Thanks and any precautions like say giving permissions while placing in that folder??? Thanks again...
UPDATE:-
Done and is working perfectly... Thanks... Just use the "mount RW" option when copying that attached file to /system/app folder... No need to change the permissions.... Thanks a lot again...

Oh yeah sorry, forgot to metion that you need system to be writable (RW). About permissions, just give it full (rwxrwxrwx), Android will change and give it the right permissions after a reboot....

Hi there - I am on OsiMood and have replaced the existing file with the attached one - but it's still not working for me. I get the "...has stopped unexpectedly".
What to do?

Sorry don't know was just recommending an alternative that works for me. Also I like that it is not always running in the background and only launch it when I need it, unlike the stock one that is always running.

Do I need to perform a fresh backup of my device before proceeding, or is it simply a case of running your app and then 'hey presto' it's done, i.e. nothing is removed from SD, etc.?

Everything should be stock - Rom and Recovery for Universal Exploit to work.

Ok, so I ran the tool choosing 'Universal Exploit' and 'Flash HBOOT Image' and it all goes swimmingly until the device reboots. I get taken to the phone+red triangle warning screen and a 'cannot find file' error pops up (see attached image file).
Any ideas? Device is defo set to USB Debugging mode. Was plugged in as 'Charge Only' - should this suffice? Or should it be connected via HTC Sync or something else?
Cheers for any help OP.
P.S. Was able to reboot 'phone fine, so nothing bad has happened

OK, so I tried your app again but this time didn't bother with Flash HBOOT Image and everything appeared to go OK.
However, I noticed in the log that 3 of the files (Busybox, su and Superuser.apk) had failed to copy across (out of memory?), despite the operation apparently having been completed (see attached jpg).
Also, when the device had rebooted, I tried to use the Application Status Bar and received the following error message:
"application Status Bar (process com.android.systemui) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
Click to collapse
The above message also contained a 'Force Close' button which on pressing obviously disables the Status Bar.
The device is still working, other than this error, but I'm not seeing any change to root capability - guessing it's because Busybox, su and Superuser failed to copy across? Could I just copy them on to the device manually?
Cheers in advance for any info.
Free up some memory on your device and be sure to delete everything in /data/local/tmp also. I will add error checking for the out of memory error in next release.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk 2
Unfortunately, after doing the above, running the app is still giving the same error and the Application Status Bar is also still giving the same error.
To make doubly sure, I backed up my device and restored it to Factory Settings (which cured the original app Status Bar error). This also meant that all data was erased from the device so memory shouldn't be an issue. However, as said above, the app is still returning the same memory error?
I'm happy to keep giving this a go so let me know your thoughts.
Hopefully we'll get to the bottom of it.

It's not fake and as a recognised developer in the xda community I can safely say there is no possible way my app can brick your device unless you flash an incorrect hboot which then is your own fault and risk!

Don't worry, chap, I don't think there's anything fake about what you're trying with this app. Unlike the person above who claimed you were. I mean, £500 to un-brick a Wildfire S?!?! You could probably buy 4 of them brand new for that amount of cash!
Is it worth me giving your updated version of the app another go? If the app finds an error with HTC patching the exploit will the app simply terminate and return my device to its original state?
Any info greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

Yes its fine the command will report permission denied to the app if the exploit is patched so the app will inform you.

I need to figure out why the files will not push to the device. It looks like temp root is achieved which is half the battle. At least you know the exploit works on your device. I'll look into the out of memory error.

[Q] permission pop-up issue?

Is anyone else getting a constant "permissions pop-up" that states something along the lines of 'blah blah controls phone dialing' then it gives you the 15 second choice of denying the app or allowing it (with the option of never showing that message again....which doesn't work). It comes up every 5 seconds and is making the phone a joke to use. There was a fix for the ZenFone 5 and I was wondering if there is one for the the 2 as well.

It happens with whatsapp, Facebook, Asus help (which can't be deleted). Earliest record of someone expressing this same issue was over a month ago. I was hoping there had been a fix that may help me.
Sorry, can't help as I haven't experienced this issue.
Maybe someone else out there who hasn't read/responded yet....
If you are rooted you could try the 'fix permissions' app available on playstore.
No guarantees it will work as i have not used it on this device. It had worked well for me on other devices.

This is interesting! I'll look into this throughout the weekend and post back if I have any success!
Same issue & really annoying.
Hi guys I think here is the issue is described in asus forums zentalk ( i cant post links yet) search for "Permission popup every second"
Apparently a firmware upgrade will fix it
Firmware download WW_2.15.40.13 and above should fix it.
But i have tried to copy the new firmware to the root directory but its not picking it up .
Very frustrating for what looks to be a good phone !

Replaced device new problems with secure folder access - SOLVED

OK so got the replacement. Anyone else having problems with secure folder? I and others are getting Alert secure folder cannot be set up because unauthorised software was installed on the device.
Same issue on s health not working.
Tried cache clear etc.
Is it never ending with the note 7??
SOLUTION
Yes this is my replacement following recall. The solution is to re-initialise the device via smart switch PC or mac. It clears the issue but pretty much re-installs everything so DO THIS FIRST to save a whole load of wasted time!!!!

Ok, for anyone as daft as me, you need to go to 'initialisation' without the phone plugged in and manually enter the model/serial.
It still didn't work, unfortunately - keeps restarting the phone as soon as it's downloaded and therefore doesn't perform the reinitialisation.
What also hasn't worked is downloading the firmware from SamFirm and flashing AP/CP/CSC. Very frustrated. Anyone got any suggestions?
