I'm sorry. If it makes you feel any better, I haven't been able to fix my MMS either. This was just a solution I had seen others talking about working for them, so I thought I would share.

I appreciate the assistance. I an able to use handcent, I just prefer stock.

"Download unsuccessful"

Whenever I download something with the browswr, it always goes to 99% then instead of saying download complete.
It shows download unsuccessful.
This has happened on wifi, 4g lte, and 3g. I always had signal when I downloaded the files. I've had this problem on stock 4.0.2 and CM9 kang (current rom).
Is this a known issue that all galaxy nexus owners experience? Or is it just me? Please help... can't download anything with my phone...

Not very helpful, but I've never had any trouble downloading in browser. Are you using stock browser?

Yes. I feel in ics, there's no real need for third party browser so I always use the stock browser.

Probably, maybe it would be worth it if the problem is fixed though?

I have this problem and i agree it shouldn't happen but, as a work-around, what i do is go to the download folder in App drawer and "retry" the download. I would say i get over a 95% success rate by "retrying" downloads.

Yeah, sometimes I have to retry like 5 times.
I have this problem as well. I just keep retrying till it succeeds. Not a huge deal since 4G is decent in my area.

All this talk is useless without posting whether or not you've installed a custom rom or kernel.
I had the issue on some old franco/aokp versions. seems to have gone away now.
OK...
I was running Franco/cm9 kang when I had my problems.
Now that I'm on gummy and the included kernel, the problems have yet to surface.

Thanks for all the info guys.
I really like cm9 kang so I do not want to flash other roms.
But clearing the browser data has helped!
Until now it has successfully downloaded everything on the first try . So thanks again

I have this problem on stock nexus. I sometimes have to hit retry 3 or 4 times.

Stock Toroplus question

I prefer to stay on stock 4.2.1 sprint nexus but also want to be able to use modified apps such as modded MMS and a few others. How would I go about being able to do this? Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

you can stay on stock but it would be best to go ahead and root the phone so you can replace apk files with the modded ones you want. just use mskips toolkit to root, takes just a few minutes to do.

Thanks a lot, I checked it out but here is my main dilemma. I love stock android and love the stock messaging app but prefer a different theme on it. I get that obviously on custom roms but am not able to send out receive mms using lte/cdma on a custom rom but have no problem at all on stock. Any reason for this?

Hmmmm....not sure. I've had prob wit MMS on some ROMs but usually find a fix... Im pretty sure you'll be all good. Pm me if u have MMS issues. I'm sure its fix able.

I am always on lte here hence the reason I use lte/cdma instead of just cdma. Mms works fine on sprint stock using lte/cdma but only on cdma network on custom roms.

I've used MMS on all custom ROMs no prob on lte/CDMA...I too get lte here in chicagoland area. Send a few MMS messages a day. There are def some ROMs wit MMS issues but not all. Most of the time its being talked about on thread if its a real issue.

This link should help you:

Has pretty much everything from the S3.
Oh and this one as well which is the base used in the ROM. Just scroll down to addons
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38481161
Also a simple google search would help! Reduces a lot of the clutter in the forums But if you can't find it then you may post!

I don't want a Galaxy s3. I don't like the phone itself. Plus why pay 500 for that when I can just put a Galaxy S3 rom on this phone and it be the exact same? But I did a search and didn't find anything. But I finally got the Widgets.
