Hi, i have used on my old Xperia play Snes9x Ex, and it played excellent, but i sold my play and im planing to get another.
How does the Snes9X EX+ Version than requires more Cpu power runs on the xperia play? do any games lag that worked fine on the non Ex+ version?

You can always download the non plus version at his website which is continued to be updated.
The plus version is fast enough with GB roms, but doesn't fast forward as smooth.

Thanks, im planning to use a GB rom, i want to use the EX+ version because i use it also on my S3, so i can swap savestates, also i like the EX+ version more since it has better rom support and i can also update it via google play.
I dont't mind the Fast foward, since i dont use it, i just dont want it to lag in normal gameplay.
Its fast enough on GB roms. If you plan on using it on JB roms you have to disable GPU Sync Hack for video to work. If it ever feel slow you can over clock. With GB rom I have no problem getting 60fps with the plus version.
Haven't had a single rom not work with the regular version though.

edit: nevermind, problem fixed. For future reference, anyone getting garbled graphics followed by the game crashing near the beginning of the game should enable "Divide Counters"
How well does psx4droid work on the G2/DZ ?
well mine lags a little during cinematics...
other than that it's fine i guess...
i also was playing FFIX lol
i didnt encounter the problems u were facing tho
I mainly play GBA games
cause gameboid has a fastforward option =D

it does work well. the only problem is getting the games to work. it only uses certain file formats so you aim to find roms already in those file formats.
the only game i have so far is command and conquer red alert. where do you guys find games that dont need to be modified much to work with psx4droid?

What version of psx4 were you using? Iv got the lite version and the new 2.0 version. Some games play good in lite and some play better in 2
Wait for fpse, should be landing tonight hopefully and allegedly improves performance drastically.
Fpse is 100x better than psx4droid.

I have to agree, fpse has perfect performance on my DZ, and the compatibility is far better than psx4droid. I couldn't even get psx4droid to function properly running CM7.

hi guys. Im using ICS Beta with KA11 rom. I've overclocked to 1.4 ghz, and set gaming profile in ram manager. but when i was driving car, the games lagging a very. and I Can't get working gamepad. Gamepad/Touchpad didn't work. Should I back to stock ?
The games not lagging, it just runs at a low frame rate for some reason. As for the gamepad, I don't know.

I got a R800X 2.3.3 fully bloatware free and no programs running when i play this game and is very slow, to the point is not fun to play at all, its too bad because it looks as a good game if the framerate was good
Believe me, it's the game, not your phone.

I wish they released a patch or someone find a way to play at good speed, find weird that they optimized the controls for the play but not the running fps (my play gamepad works fine in this game) i just cant play because of the speed
Hi Guys, i missed my xperia play so i bought a new one, the scene has changed on here since i left it a year ago for the better, brilliant roms and kernels now!
However am i doing something wrong?
I've tried many kernels and rom combinations but im still experience lag in games (not as bad as a year ago though)
It annoys me as i will be enjoying a game then it will just lag really bad and i lose control of the dpad / touchpad for a few seconds.
Its not constant lag but enough to bug me!
I've tried LuPuS v12 480p and extremkernel R2 000p with the following roms:
Gin2jellybean
Aurora Play
XElite
Atomic
I cant get bane of speed to install (keep getting E: partition error? help?)
These are all GB roms will i have better success on Ice Cream Sanswhich?
i usually OC with 1.6ghz smartass v2 / sio (However i've tried all settings even under-clocked)
Any advice / help would be great
p.s.
Major annoyance is when i play Mario kart 64 on n64oid it freezes my phone no matter what kernel / rom / OC settings im on!!! v2.7 doesn't crash on mupen any ideas?
You should really try ICS roms. Pritty much stable and able to run even heavier games. Just keep in mind that in ICS roms it's everlasting battle in perfomance vs features. Use lupus ICS/GB 480p kernel.
Ofcorse, it depends what games/emulators you are playing, but i can say ICS is compatible with 95% of games (that i try).

Did u data reset before tryuing each rom? (use Tiyanium Backup to backup and resote apps exactly where they were!)

Imo best rom is stock debloted+RTmixManager/v6SuperXharger/Pizza_Box(not all jusr 1 of em)

Sounds weird but keep ur oc to 1.2 GHz in games, just try thqt, nd dont use performancr govenor unless emulating

Don't like the ICS roms they all seem too fiddly,
I finally settled on LuPuS v12 480p and Gin2jellybean 1.4ghz / smartassv2 / sio
UI is smooth and modern looking and most games run fast as! only getting the odd stutter during a game but only on some and its rare.
I have one major issue now which i dont know if its the rom or the kernel, but i'll pick 2 games its occurring on: Rage of the gladiator and Lara Croft both games are not playing videos in game?
The phone doesn't play any mp4 on the basic stock player, anyway i can fix this? (3rd party players do work but not for the in game videos)

always wipe data/cache/system/rom before installing a new ROM. hopefully this should fix your problem..

It was the kernel learnt the difference between full / ram (full contains video playback) im all happy now it doesnt have seemed to affect the games in anyway that i can notice anyway.

I use performance for gaming as it keeps the frequency set. Smartass changes frequencies constantly and that could have some affect

On the lupus 480 kernel I get that too with the videos not playing. Asphalt 6 wontload the opening video but says it's unable to play it. Then it loads the game

Everytime I play on an emulator such as N64oid or SNESdroid, my fps drops drastically if i touch the gamepad keys at all. Unfortunately, I use my C pad on the right gamepad, and it does work, but it lags badly. When I tried to play Modern Combat 4, I noticed the same issue was there. I could not play because the gamepad I use to move my guy around was lagging. Is there any fix to this?

yep ive seen the same thing on every JB rom. If im not correct the reason is because the touchpad drivers are not offically for JB and have been back ported not compiled form JB source. currently unfix able.

I'm having trouble finding a decent rom for gaming that supports the touchpads without lag. What roms will work? This problem is slightly annoying since it makes it impossible to play Modern Combat and a lot of other games...
well the best answer is always Gingerbread rom with a bit of overclock of necessary, everything works there. just look for a 2.3.7 version rom.

Cm10 when cleaned from unneeded apps, as our phone cant afford too much addons to rom if u want to use it as gaming device with jb or slimbean as its best jb rom for play. On slim its possible to even play ravensword without to much lags

I'm using Racing Speed with Lupus JB v8 480 and works fine for games (i play NFSMW, dead trigger without lag)
Personally, I really like smokerman's LiGux ROM since it's a very good ROM for daily use and has got beautiful UI graphic. I haven't tried heavy gaming but I expect games like Dead Trigger to be fully playable. SlimBean is another good choice, especially if you want to personalize very much the ROM. Anyway I don't reccomend to play heavy games on JB/ICS, GB is still better, or, if you don't need camera, wifi and bluetooth it's worth to try the KitKat ROM, very very stable and fast and games run better than on GB.
