Hi, I got a G2 yesterday =] I have a couple of questions.
I rooted my phone and put the cyanogen rom on it and it works fine but i dont understand whats so great about it. I liked the Stock one better. So I wanted to know whats the best rom out right now.
Another question is how do i properly Unroot the phone if i want it dead stock again? I didnt think about unrooting before i rooted =/.
Aaaaaand my last question. I want to have music controls on my locked screen so i can just hit the lock button once and be able to control the music. Is that possible?
Thats it for now. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

1. cm has settings and more control over what the phone does. go back to stock if you like - try enomther's official (search for it)
2. read the wiki on how to unroot your phone. (seach for it - or look up)
3. music controls in cm settings....
4. search before you post your next question.
Dang fast reply. My bad. and thanks a lot.
I would try a sense ROM it makes Android way better in my opinion. Stock is great and all but it all depends on what you like :]

My girlfriend just bought a refurbished A100. It arrived with ICS 2 days before the OTA was due. At first I was like GREAT! but upon further investigation I found it had the camera and speaker bugs reported in earlier leaked versions. So I looked at the build number and sure enough its an old build (.002).
Now my dilemma is do I wait for the OTA in a couple of days or do I use the stock ICS (.014) downloaded in the Dev section.
Now my girlfriend has watched me live through the agony and ecstasy of flashing roms and kernels on my Galaxy Tab and Revolution and does not want me to root her Acer.
I have searched the A100 forums and it appears you can flash this w/out root through stock recovery. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I can't seem to find very clear cut directions but here is what I think I need to do someone please tell me if I understand correctly.
1.rename downloaded zip to update.zip
2. put on root of external sd card (anywhere in particular)
3. turn tab off
4. turn tab back on by holding power and volume down
5. let go of power button and continue to hold volume down
6. let go of volume down when Android w/ gears icon appears
7. let it do it's thing
8.profit!
I'm a noob to Acer but not Android in general. Please any advice would be appreciated as I REALLY don't want to F-Up my Girlfriends new baby.
I know you feel buddy, my girlfriend inherited my old HTC Desire, which she loves but, doesn't love it when I say "I have a new ROM for you!" She loves having ICS though so go figure!
Yeah you've got it all right, it might take a few times to get into the stock recovery, it drove me mad ha ha, no harm done though just a bit fiddly to get the button combo every time.
the .014 release is the ICS to flash as it has full touch support with games.

Thank you for your quick reply toyface. Just another quick couple of questions.
Does the screen lock button need to be in any particular position when doing the stock recovery flash?
Is there any particular folder or place on the sdcard that I have to put the update.zip?
If I decide to wait on the OTA, will it go right over the old ICS build or will having the old ICS interfere with that?
Thanks again.
The stock rom in the development section is the same as the ota update, so your tab won't find a new update as it will already be installed. As for flashing, your steps are correct, but make sure you hold the volume button closest to the power button and you should be good. Hope this helps!

Everything went smooth as silk. I have now have a happy girlfriend with a happy tablet, therefore I am a happy man. Thanks for the help!
hey guys can someone give me a rundown of the basics for this phone what is the key combo to get into recovery? Also what to type into the dialer to access the hidden menu? How to do a hard reboot like a battery pull. I did try to hold the power button for a while like the sgs2 but it didnt work. Also what are the basics of the s-pen.
I gotta say this phone is a monster. I cant wait to really get down and see what it can do. I am about to check out the dev section to see if there is some AOKP or cm. And thanks in advance for any responses that I get.
Charlie
I rooted mine using the Toolkit @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957720
To boot into recovery hold down the home + power + up volume buttons.
Have fun exploring.

Hi Devs
I'm from Mumbai India and i'm using galaxy nexus gsm.
It is an awesome phone but lately i'm having problem
My phone screen flashs and blackouts out of nowhere While operating my nexus and than i have to reboot it.
This has been happening from the time when i tried few custom roms (xylon, miui, overdrive, pa, minco v6 and madoco) back to back couple of weeks back. I don't know what is the cause of it and why is it happening.
So guys i need little help here.. Plzz help me fix it.
Right now I'm using baked 7 rom and gapp 4.2.1 12/12/2012.
Thank you in advance
I believe this is referred to as a Screen of death, or sod. Search the forum, and you may find some answers. Ive heard this is common on 4.2.1, but have yet to deal with it myself. Actually, though, ive had some close calls where the power button will not wake the phone, and i believe ive also seen where the actual issue is waking the phone from sleep..
Actually, I've just noticed that you're using the old gapps as well. The baked downloads page has the new gapps, and perhaps that may help you.
THANK YOU

Keyboard sound
How to turn off or change that ugly keyboard sound the first ROM for me so far it is good few glitches
Disabling back and recent hardware keys
i originally dirty flashed this rom over cyogenmod 12.1 and it mostly worked but had some issues. doing a clean install helped most of them, but i ran into a new problem i didn't have with the dirty flash. i prefer an onscreen nav bar to hardware keys but i want to keep the home button working, just disable the back and recent buttons. in the dirty flash disabling hardware keys did just this, but now it disables all 3 of them. i noticed that i can leave the hardware keys turned on and disable the recent button, buy changing the short press and long press action to nothing, but i don't have a way to disable the back key.
My question is if there is any method which i missed that would allow me to disable to back key aswell? did i miss a setting somewhere? oddly enough with all the problems i had with the dirty flash, this one thing worked how i wanted it too, and now its not. i know i can change the key bind for it with xposesd, but as was discused before it causes a boot loop.
other then this problem, this is a fantastic rom and i am extremely great full for all the time and work that went into making it possible. and especially thank all the people that come to these fourms and help clueless people like myself.

Known as sleep of death. Hold power button for at least 30 seconds. I sent mine back before I discovered that to reset takes way longer than most devices.

Disable in settings, buttons, hardware keys. The navbar height is set to 0, increase this or you won't see it
New version of the ROM out today. Much improved, xsposed working again. IMO Temasek rocks.
Thanks gscollier i didn'try that even i browse the web all day. I sent mine too at warranty service mine i think it's death because. I keep it in charge 4hours and still nothing. Thanks again for the news it's really a good rom and fast just trebuchet stops from time to time

thanks for the response, but it doesn't quite help me with my problem. I think you misunderstood, i know how to disable all hardware keys and have no problem with the onscreen nav bar. what im trying to do is disable the hardware keys for back and recent while leaving the home button functional. it can be done with xposed modules but i cant seem to get xposed to work here, even with the new update.
once again thanks for the reply, i will keep looking for a solution.

Got it, don't think you can disable only back and recent but not home. So, xposed. I don't know what module you are using but make sure you have the xposed alpha from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/super-alpha-posted-permission-xposed-t3072979
Many modules cause bootloops but I have 4 working with no problems on the latest Temasek ROM. I strongly recommend ROM backup before flashing the xposed zip and also each time you try a module. Slightly time consuming but quicker than flashing the ROM from scratch. If a module causes bootloop you can wipe cache and davlik cache in recovery. If it still bootloops that module just won't work for now. Trial and error I'm afraid.

Try to press start button more than 30 seconds, it will reboot,
BT-tethering
Sorry, if it is a known CM-issue!
I couldn't get bluetooth-tethering to work. For me that is a very important feature on a mobile device without SIM-Slot. That's why I had to go back to laggy TW-ROM.
So for this ROM you flash then wipe data/factory reset? Is that considered a clean flash?

A "clean flash" is wiping everything first, then flashing.
Thanks vasumit! How frequently do you plan on providing updates to this ROM? I'm trying to decide between this and CM12.1 as my daily driver.
in the last build from 7.10 doesn't show the performance tab of the kernel . anybody same problem on a clean install thanks
Thanks sharkie. Developers instructions stated otherwise. I clean flashed this ROM and it is nice. Has anyone noticed on the android launch screen its grainy or pixelated? Games and internet look awesome. Same problem when I was running stock CyanogenMod 12.1. Also how do I get the clock widget out of military time?
---------- Post added at 03:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:57 AM ----------
Another problem to report. I flashed the gapps package recommended by the developer and all I see is the play store. What's up?
Can anyone share your performance setting with me?
This ROM is nice in term of general performance and feature, especially in comparison with the original CM12.1 which gave me huge unresponsive issue during app installation.
However the CPU temperature is quite hot and my tab have broken down three time in a row during the last two days. I have to let the it rest for about an hour before turning it back on and right now i'm still waiting, don't know if it will come back to life or not. Really scary, this one.
Can anyone confirm the temp issue? This is the first time i encounter this much trouble on a device after install CM based ROM. First is the unresponsiveness of original 12.1, now this.........................................
