SGH I777 Stuck on Boot up Screen - About xda-developers.com

Hello XDA people I have a real problem
I tried to install Jelly Bam 5.1 in my phone , when i intalled it didnt work well so i go back to my old version of jelly bam 4.1, i intalled it with CWM i press reboot and it stuck on boot up screen. I have waited 30 minits and i kick out the battery and put again, but nothing , it was the same. Finally I tried to flash stock rom 4.03 with odin , the same but worst couse i cant enter in recovery mode now, only in download mode. i dont know what to do, I want a reply

1. There is no such thing as Jelly Bean 5.1
2. This is NOT the place to ask for tech support. Search for your device's section and post there.

Op isn't talking about jelly bean 5.1
Op said jelly bam 5.1
Which is a custom rom.. for many devices it seems..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1943391
Anyway 2nd point is totally true though..

Also, just because it is still relevant:
http://gizmodo.com/5922227/matias-du...ld-of-android/
Giz: The version of Jelly Bean that we have right now is a developer preview, right?
MD: Yes, it's a developer preview so it still has a few bugs that we know about, and obviously a few that we don't know about, but when the devices actually begin shipping in a few weeks you'll see a lot of additional polish go in.

No real point in posting bugs/problems with a preview release of software NEVER intended for the end user. We do not have the finalized release of Jelly Bean, we have a developer preview. There is a large difference. As far as this specific issue is concerned, there are already multiple threads for this and your title isn't exactly on topic.
I was aware of this before instaling that rom.
I have checked those thread before posting. The problem i see is that all those solution look like if they all need CWM working witch is not right now all the option are not working since im not root. maybe something im missing.
when i read: Flash the SuperSU root fix from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1737849
I dont have the option on the recovery mode to do so
I understand your frustation over multiple thread talking about this but Developer preview or not im experiencing a problem ( or i dont know to do it) witch alot of person do not have. Im only looking forward for solution, tutorial or thread that i may have missed.

[Q] Arc S stuck after flashing jelly sandwich 7.0, who can help plz?

I need a big help on the following issue.
A few hours ago I flashed my Xperia Arc S from Jelly Sandwich 4.1 to 7.0
Did the full wipe cache thing etc.
Have chosen in Aroma the Xperia T stuff and as thema Xperia Stock
Everything went ok, so I continued installing my backupped apps. Sofar I had no problems.
After I installed everything I needed, I wanted to change my background, so I pushed on the upper left on top of a screen
and I have chosen for Xperia Background Gallery (100 backgrounds)
When I selected a nice background, the phone was going in a black screen and it was not possible to do anything with my phone.
Suddenly my phone tried to start up again, but that went wrong.
The only thing happens is that my ArcKnight kernel is trying to boot, I see the screen ArcKnight for a second of 10 and it fades away.
It's not possible to go in CWM cause the home button doesn"t flash. I tried to remove the battery, but that doesn"t help.
It is also not possible to turn off the phone. The on/off button doesn't work either.
My Phone is an Arc S
ArcKnight kernel 3.5.1 with WiFi modules
Baseband 77
Jelly Sandwich 7.0
Android 4.1.1
Cause it's my first post I had to place the question in this section
I hope someone can help me getting my phone in the air again.

Yeah something has gone wrong, probably related to the kernel (not sure because my bootloader's locked). You'll have to flash a rootable stock rom, flash it, install cwm, and install JS 7 again. Maybe something wasn't installed correctly previously =/
Try flashing another kernel with CWM

Help: Status 7 error while trying to update to 4.1.1

For those of you (rooted or not rooted) trying to update to 4.1.1 LJ7 but cant because of a Status 7 error, this is what worked for me:
1. Download this: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390135922294523498
(It comes with ODIN) extract the .Tar file to a memorable location
2. unplug and power off your s3
3. Boot into download mode: Press and hold volume down+home+power
4. run Odin as administrator
5. connect USB cable to s3
6. once Odin recognizes the phone, tick Auto Reboot then click PDA
7. locate and select the .tar file
8. click start
9. let that run it will take a while,
10. when finished, you should see a green box that says PASS!, your phone should reboot and update.
Congratulations, you now have the official jellybean. Your Welcome.
I believe that error happens when you modify a system app, such as gmail or if you modified the camera or something. Revert to the original and I believe you should be fine. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I also recommend searching as is has been covered.

Im not quite sure I understand what you mean by "revert to the original"
Original what? Im on a stock 4.0.4 ICS. The only thing I have close to a mod is an app that uses the LED as a multicolored notification, that works only with rooted s3's.
PITA but worked.

Only way I was able to flash the jb update was to odin back to len and accept the ota's up until LI3 then I booted into stock recovery and flashed the jb update. Sucked but it worked.

I recommend the first posters advice that's easiest. Or using twrp or cwm to flash a modified version of the ota here http://goo.im/devs/billard412/d2spr...fficial_update(modified_CWM_or_TWRP_only).zip way less headaches. As a test to try n see why it kept failing for people I went all the way back to unrooted LEN and let it accept all ota's up to lj7 and surprise surprise, The Fukr Still Failed so it'd be easiest to just do what was already suggested
O ya, and use the damn search button
Hmmm just bumped into this problem during JB upgrade ... I'd modified my Sprint L710 ICS framework-res.apk file to correct a bug with cell phone power reporting ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1732722 ) ... I might have fixed this but I've lost the original APK (the one with the factory error).
The lady @ Sprint was very nice but basically pointed out that it was out of her hands since I modifed the phone. So ... guess I'll try the solution from Voodoo8648 and hope for the best ....
Worked great. Thanks.
download ... let it run ... automagic !!
Go to the samsung page (that xda wont let me post) and download the kies software ...
h t t p :// w w w . s a m s u n g . c o m / u s / k i e s /
sorry if i break the rules ... this works
I did what the OP suggested and now my phone hangs on startup actually in android. It says android is upgrading and starting apps or something and then just freezes. Any help?

[Q] Stuck on splash screen after trying to root

Hi guys,
Can someone please help?
The other day i followed cnet guide to rooting whilst running gingerbread.
Here : [I can't post links yet]
This worked fine.
I ran kies air today and it said there was a firmware upgrade.. so i let kies do its business and it now has Jellybean on it.
But i noticed the root access had been lost again.
So I followed Cnets guide again, but something has gone wrong >.>
It no longer will boot up and is stuck on "samsung galaxy ace 2 gt-i8160" splash screen.
Volume down + home + power still works.. but...
I can't get into recovery mode (vol up + home + power).. so i can't complete the final step installing "update_su.zip"
Have i bricked the phone? Damnit.. knew i should have left well alone..
Please help.. I'm new to all these smart phones and rooting >.>
Thank you
Blegh.. now I see what I have done wrong
Used the wrong file...
Ok so im following instructions on Update Galaxy Ace 2 with Official I8160XXMF1 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean [GUIDE] over on ibtimes
Downloaded the file.. got phone in download mode trying that now.. fingers crossed..
Ok.. that seems to have worked.. but JB still seems laggy compared to GB.. maybe i just need to factory reset and get rif of half the crap.. I don't know what is slowing the phone down.. and I also noticed JB gives less total memory compared to GB.. Is this normal? GB had 555MB now its 482 MB?! hmmm..
I recommend getting a ROM, theu would make the phpne go faster and remove half the bloatware, if you like the Samsung touchwiz look use kyrillos ROM or lite ROM etc, however if you like the aosp look go for a unofficial cyanogenmod ROM, for the ram thing follow this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2389395
Hope this helps

S3 boot issues!!

Ok so my gs3 is having a few issues with the new 4.3 custom roms coming out nowadays...
Basicly after flashing (for instance) Slim bean 4.3 stable build 1, or the new 4.3 Liquid Smooth 2.10 the problems start.
But not right away see on the inital install and system reboot the phone boots PERFECTLY, its when i turn off my phone or it dies.
Thats when the phone starts to hang, either on the samasung logo for Liquid Sooth, or it'll hang on SLIM for the Slim bean rom
I am not new to Flashing there just something im over looking and i hope somone has the answer
thanks in advance

The usuall method, i never dirty flash NEVER
full wipe
factory reset
fix permissions
install rom install gapps
Why do you fix permissions after you wipe and before you flash? There are no permissions to fix at that point.

Calm down man, I was just asking. I've never seen anyone else do that step before so I thought maybe your issues stems from there.
---------- Post added at 07:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:43 AM ----------
Maybe it's the incorrect gapps.

Could be some kind of hardware failure as well. Have you flashed a stock rom to see if it still does it?
