ICS roms for p350 are still in beta condition due to our device's hardware restrictions,, but our hard-working devs are trying their best to make a fully stable rom. Try to report bugs on respective threads so that devs can rectify it.
Btw, you can try low memory roms like Minicm10, Oxygen ICS etc. ^_^
Don't say thanks, just press it...!!!

But about the kernal panic is it due to the processor or the rom ?

Probably a driver issue... Not sure, it panics even when you download anything past 1.3 MB in size...

I think the most stable ICS rom is this, but the battery life isn't very good.

[Q] How to speed up ICS on R800i?

Currently running the latest version of Dark Forest ROM and a slightly too old version of DoomKernel.
I notice that there is some serious performance drops with ICS. Any suggestions on getting this back up to speed? Better ROM to use?
Also, off topic, I haven't been able to find a link to a version of the Beta ROM with WiFi, data, etc enabled and NO OTHER CHANGES. A link would be helpful and I have searched.
Thanks in advance for both requests!
CM9 based roms seem to be the smoothest - AOKP is the best for me. You can try overclocking on darkforest rom and updating your kernel may help alot as well.

Thanks! Been meaning to update the kernel but I guess I'm just lazy. I'll get that done and try your other suggestions later but for now I've got a pile of coursework to do. Already overlocked to 1.4 Ghz but I guess the old kernel may be holding me back. Also is there a CM9 available for R800i that supports the gamepads?
Cheers again!
Touchpads do work in all cm9 roms but they're app specific - some apps allow them to work and some do not, it depends on how the app developer implemented them or so I've read.

[Q] AOKP vs. CM vs. MIUI

Can anybody please compare the three (and possibly other) popular custom ROMs? Thanks!
I think every roms are great and smooth, for example Bionic 2, Kezra VP 1.1, Black Note Hybrid 2nd gen, Bagux project, Kedai, FAW rom, and CM9, AOKP, MIUI V4...

Hmm. If youre referring those 3 as roms, which you probably see in development section, id say nothing much. Miui and aokp are both ported from CM9 which means those 3 are on ICS. The difference though will most likely be seen on how it was modded, themes, tweaked etc.
As alidsd mentioned regarding AOKP, cm9+more customization=AOKP.
Well this is as far as I know. Correct me if im wrong.

or do i need them both in my phone?
it says that XXLM8 is best for games...
can you help me by explaining kernels and roms...
and which rom is better? is it CM9 coz MIUI & AOKP is based from CM9? or did MIUI & AOKP fixed the errors CM9 has like camera... in 1 theared it said the camera in CM9 has a problem.. did MIUI & AOKP fixed it????

You can find in there what is rom and kernel. In choosing kernels, it depends on you, as they say, its a trial and error process. As for me, im using DXLM3, its works perfectly for me. Runs smooth, I havent experienced any lag. But then again, it will depend on you. Try them out and experienced for your self. As for rom, I heared the newly release cm9 alpha 4 is bit buggy and unstable, but im pretty sure it will be fixed soon. But if you really want to experience cm9 go for cm9 aplha 3. Aokp and miui as i mentioned are ported from cm9 but with different mods, and more stable atm.

so i need both Kernel and ROM ^_^
so you are using DXLM3 Kernel what is its benefits based from your exp.?
they say
XXLM8 Kernel (good for games)
Cow Kernel (good battery life span)
DXLM3 Kernel (what benefits?) ^_^
what ROM are you using right now?
MIUI & aokp was ported from CM9 alfa 3 or 4?
based from your trial and error which worked better and no bugs
MIUI, AOKP or Alfa3? i still cant do trial and error coz im still reading how to do it and some of the steps i really dont understand doing.. ^_^

but be careful, you cannot use GB kernels on ICS ROMs and you cannot use ICS kernels on GB ROMs because GB and ICS has different ramdisk, drivers, etc...
as far as i know, kernels that available for GT-I8150 are:
- stock GB kernels (XXLM8, DXLM3, etc)
- CWG GB kernels (OC and non-OC version)
- arco's ICS kernel
usually if you download ROMs here, they also have the kernel included, so you don't have to flash the kernel separately... except if you want to some experiment, you could flash different kernel after flashing the ROM... for example, after you're finished flashing XXLM8 stock GB ROM, you want to experiment with CWG kernel, so you should flash the CWG kernel only after finished flashing the XXLM8 ROM...

Yes you need both kernel and rom. But dont worry about it, if you flash rom, its likely that the developer already updated the kernel of the rom you are going to flash. But of course if you dont feel like it, there is called flashing of kernel on your desired rom. But the problem is, not all kernels are compatible to different roms. So take time to read updates. As for my kernel dxlm3, for me, its fast, smooth, no lags, also good for games though im not avid gamer. Its a stock kernel so its stable and i havent encountered any issues at all.
I havent tried cm9 yet coz I needed the camera. But I did try miui released by alidsd, but the camera as well is not yet fully working so I have to switch back to my stock rom. And the latest released aokp by alidsd is the one Im going to test later on, havent tried it yet coz im busy.
Of course there will be bugs on newly released roms like cm9, miui and aokp since they are still on the process of development.

delete thread please.

edit: nvm delete thread.
JellyBean isn't fully stable on our DHD/I4G just yet. There are always going to be some issues because HTC didn't give us a full 3.0 kernel for ICS. That could be the reason you are experiencing some lag. Kernels could also help you, try the KangBang performance kernel, although the kernel is leaning towards performance, so it could cause instability
I bought the xda app. Problem?
...
I can't link to the kernel (cause I'm lazy and on the xda app). But when you install a kernel wipe your cache and Dalvik Cache and then flash. That's the proper way of flashing a kernel

Hey thanks for the reply, yeah i successfully installed the stable and performance kernel from this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1931386
But the gaming performance still lags compared to 2.3.5. I guess its due to not being fully stable yet.
I had an idea, what if i flash the stock 2.3.5 kernel? Would i get stock performance back or not?

You'll ruin your phone. A 2.3.X kernel I'd meant for that specific version of Android. If you mix versions (e.g. a Gingerbread kernel with a Jelly Bean ROM) you'll most likely get bootloops and your phone. At worst you'll brick your phone. Don't ever mix kernel versions. Also don't flash a Sense kernel on a AOSP/AOKP/CyanogenMod based ROM (or vice versa), you'll also have a phone that won't boot.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Yeah I was guessing it had something to do with the kernel. I tried a kernel yesterday not sure which one it was from memory, but when I put the kernel zip onto the phone and installed it through recovery it said install complete. But when I rebooted the phone it gets stuck on a black screen. I can't do anything else unless I take the battery out. I was wondering if anyone can give me a link to the kangbang kernel and instructions in how to install properly if the recovery mode isn't the right way, even though it said kernel updated successfuly. Thanks!

The only compatible alternative kernel for JB is the KangBang (at least that i know of). If you flashed another one, that might be why it booted to a black screen.

[Q] So I rooted my phone, now what?

Hello again guys,
I sucessfully rooted my phone but now I have a problem. I have read through alot of forums and sites and I guess the next logical step is to get a new rom and kernel. Now I have done alot of reading about all this but I'm getting quite confused between the pair. From my understanding the kernel controls all the complex stuff like making your phone run faster/slower and increasing/decreasing battery life.... I'm stumped at what a rom is,it's like, the operating system but custom ones are more streamlined?
So what I'm asking for is a little information and some suggestions of what I should put onto my phone, I read something about a smartassv2 which is supposed to keep the phone more balanced, now im sure if it is a kernel or a governor?
Any help would be apprciated.
Have you put cwm or different recovery on your phone yet. Also do you have the CDMA or gsm version

Yeah, the utility I used to root it also installed cwm, I checked it out and did a backup which should be on my SD card now.
beleive it's gsm, it has a sim card and is on T-mobile.
Ive just installed link2sd and partitioned my sd card, was able to move over a game that I couldnt originally get over to the sd card, saving a bit of space.
Also with link2sd I was able to delete preinstalled bloat like twitter, friendstream, news, weather, stocks, etc.
So far a good day

smartassv2 is governer you can use cfq scheduler with it.
about suggestions:
after rooting you have two options:
use cyanogenmod roms:
cm9.1/cm10
(original modpunk cm9.1 ,speed droid,jelly king,miui etc)
use stock sense roms:
(wildchild etc,sense 3.5 etc)
these all are main roms after there are many variations like pacman rom, aokp build cm9 but they are not much stable at this time so.

Sorry to be a pain can you give me a little info about the listed roms? You put cm9.1/cm10 then the others in brackets, are they just like the same roms but with slight differences or is cynaogenmod a kinda name for those type of roms?
EDIT: Just looked up CyanogenMod.org, doesnt show that it supports HTC Wildfire S.

official cyanogenmod isn't support wildfire s.so dev made here unofficial cynogenmod which support cm9.1 and cm10 with some bugs.
that is jelly king cm10 based :

that is speed droid cm9.1 and cm10 based:

this is original modpunk cm9.1 rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633198
note:
cm=cyanogenmod
cm9.1 aka ICS 4.0.4
cm10 aka JB 4.1.2
ps there are many other roms based on cm10 like pacman, miui and also slimroms ,paranoid(its tablet ui rom you can change dpi of any app widget its benefit of this rom)
but i havent tried them but you can.
Personal oppinion
When I rooted my wildfire s I was exactly like you. I started wondering what I should do or where I could find it.
After testing a few roms I will tell you what worked for me: Test different roms till you find the one that suits you.
Anyway, I'll tell you my advice:
- WildJOY joyOS First rom I tested. No bugs found.
- Modpunk's CM10 As far as I've read the rom every one uses as the base for their own ones.
- JellyKing This is the one I'm using right now. Active development and really smooth.
Jelly King V2.0
I flashed my phone with Jelly King V2.0 4 days back. Its working very smoothly.
You get 69 MB of internal space to install things.
Panorma mode in camera etc. Try it. you'll love it.

Kantry 123 made amazing job i really appreciate his hard work :good:
I don't find it that laggy as you say. Maybe it's because i don't spect too much from my little device. If i were you i'd try the kernel to test if it goes smoother or not.

I'm thinking test your ROM, but whats is the kernel included in the zip file?
Lupus v11? 3.X Kernel?
The main post said dont work JB Camera (4.2.2). There is other camera app included in ROM (CM camera 4.1.2 perhaps) or we must install other third party camera app.

Others seem to be having no problems. Perhaps its something to do with gapps. I'm assuming you used full gapps. Try the mini or light version of gapps. So long as u done your full wipes I can't see any other reason. Maybe try flash ROM let it boot then go back to recovery and flash gapps.
Edit - OK so apparently light gapps just causes FC'ing I'll link to other gapps when I'm home.
i flashed this ROM with full Gapps in Xperia Arc S, and it's working really fine, until now had twice random reboots, but that's not really a problem to me.

Hi,
May I also post on the Pro version here? There is no seperate thread for it.
It's my first attempt on a custom rom after using stock ICS. Unfortunately, I found it to be very unstable
My first attempt was Lupus/v21, now I'm on Fusion/v22. Both seem to be highly unstable. Just using apps is normally fine, but a few things seem to provoke lockups including unlocking the screen, listening to music and using the camera.
I did a full wipe before installing (system, cache, dalvik cache, data), I even tried the permissions fix.
Otherwise it seems a great rom, perfect feature set and very fast, but the unstability makes it unusable for me

Yes u can post here also. Comparing any 4.2 ROM to STOCK ICS, stock ICS would be the winner in terms of stability. 4.1 is the best if you want JB IMO. But 4.2 and especially PAC 4.2 has a lot more features, customization amongst other things. It doesn't matter on the kernel its going to be the same. This is why FXP stopped developing after CM10 for the XPERIA 2011 line-up. It will never be 100% stable as will any 4.2 ROM for Xperia 2011.
I don't know what calls you stabillity, but 4.1 is very stable, almost as 4.0. 4.2 isn't stable specially with 3.x kernels, but 4.1 is perfect. And FXP stop the development for 2011 line becase they have to develop for a lot of devices, i think.

I said 4.1 is stable. And no they stopped because without a stable 3.x kernel it would be impossible for a stable 4.2 J. There was no 3.x kernel for 2011 device back then, but even still they knew if there was a 3.x kernel it would need a lot of work to get stable, if it even can.

But 3.4 kernel is pretty stable now na?
I think that crapy random reboot is the only problem now.
