Yesterday, i just try this app.
my sd card class 4 only... so i change the sd card directory to usb stroage / sd card 0
i don't use that space at all.
What i want to know is, will it damage internal space? or we so called usb stroage.

I'm not that an expert but I don't recommend you try the SWAP SD kind of APP because it may brick your phone !
CyanogenMod 10 Alpha 5™… XD
iv been using that app since the last 1 1/2 month.didnt hv any problem.but im using class 10 external sd.in my opinion dont swap memory from your internal sd card nor the phone memory.the swap memory is recommended only for class 6 n above.some said 8 and above.the internal sd card has a class below the requirement n if the internal sd card damages i really didnt know how to get it repaired since it mounted(CMIIW).just make swap from your external sd with class 10 or 8.if your external sd breaks u can easily replaced it.

swap thing is to risky for class4 microsdcard.
Please DON'T use your internal storage for this. This type of storage has a limited read/write cycle life span. By using it this way you ARE prematurely "ageing" this storage partition, and WHEN it fails, the repair won't be cheap.....it will definitely be cheaper to buy the correct class of extSD card and use that instead......

I have used this app, and there is some noticeable improvement, but only on class 10 cards. Anything below there will be little to no noticeable performance increase.
But you can always try.

i want to ask if i change a new memory card , after i format it to fat32 wat should i do next ? my friend done this but the phone still cant detect the sd card .. any solution ?
The phone should detect it after it has been formatted. If it's not detecting it, then something has gone wrong with the card or the phone. I suspect a dodgy card.
Really, all you have to do is this:
Backup your old card
Format your new card
copy the backup onto new card
That's all it should be, unless you're using A2SD or soemthing.
If you have multiple partitions, if you are using A2SD, then you might need something epic like Clonezilla to literally mirror the structure of the old SD card onto the new card. If after a format of FAT32 and the card isn't detected at all, then as the previous post said, the card is probably dud.
i going to buy class 10 8 gb memory card .. does it make the phone load the file faster ? or i juz get class 4 16g better

A2SD transfer the easy way for users
1 - create a nandroid backup of everything (this includes the A2SD ext partition)
2 - backup EVERYTHING from the mem card to your pc!
3 - insert new mem card
4 - run rom manager (download it from the market if you have to!)
5 - partition the new card with rom manager (creating an ext partition as well)
6 - Copy everything from the pc BACK to the NEW card!!!!
7 - Restore the nandroid backup!!!!!!!!!
You now have the phone back to the exact state you started with but with a different memory card installed!
buffer size 8kb
Data size 10mb
Write : 5.27mb
read 12.72
this is kingmax class 10 8gb memory card ..izit good ?

i'd also like to know some memory card recommendations.
i found a 16GB class 6, but they're mostly out of stock all places..
if 16gb got class 6 den i will get 1 =)
I am having problems with my SD card. I used to have a mytouch, and I bought a Sandisk 4GB back then. When I got the S2 back in Decemeber 2011, all i did was format the micro card to work. The S2 shows that its there under Storage, but i have always have difficulties actually using it. You will see that it has some used into it. I can only reach it through USB connection and transfer file that way. However, whenever I use any programs which can be install under SD card, it will not do so.
As you will noticed below i have a problem call App 2 SD Pro, which it will only show both memories with my phone, Storage and USB, which is the same phone memory. By no means, its finding the Micro SD card. Can anyone tell me why is this? This phone is not rooted and i have only 2.3.6.
Thank you in advance.
If you look through your list of folders under /sdcard, your micro sd is the 'external_sd" folder.
Yes that is true. Is under External SD card. My question is, why are some programs, mostly all, having difficulties to find it? and can i have all for example game files, be saved onto my "external SD Card"?
What is the speed of your sd card?
class 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10?

How would i know that? all i can see on the card is, Sandisk 2 in circle, 4GB SDHC micro. Where else can i check? which class is best?
You have a class 2. It has been my experience that when you move an app to sd card, on this phone it uses the internal "USB" storage.
So what can i do to do the opposite? Meaning, using the actual SD card instead of the internal.

I think you have it backwards! The SD Card on new phones, ie. Samsung GS3, refers to the built-in memory. If you insert a micro SD Card, it will be known as the "Ext SD Card".
Anyone, anyone....

But in wonder if you use the storage setting and tick the use internal memory the sd card and external will be swapped. I guess i'm based on that. So maybe i'm wrong. At least it is almost right

SD card = the built in memory from your phone, but some phone have only small amount of memory so you cannot install games/apps anymore because it's already full.
Ext SD Card = have a bigger amount of memory 8gb,16gb, 32gb, 64gb that means you can install more games/apps than internal.
So, if your phone internal is full, you can use your ext sd card as internal which is bigger and it's called "swap"

Menu > System Settings > Storage
SD card = listed as INTERNAL STORAGE. On our Wonder, this is 1.7GB in size.
External SD card = the microSD card you insert at the back of your phone. It's available in different sizes and classes. Under Storage, it is listed as SD CARD.
I hope this clears it up for you.
AFAIK
SD card= internal phone memory
ext SD card = sd card that you inserted
Just to avoid further confusion when it comes to terminology:
Memory is just like the RAM in your computer. It is where a program's commands are queued for use of the processor.
Storage is just like the hard disk in your computer. It is where the programs/apps are actually stored.
When you go to Menu > Manage Apps,
Memory can be seen only under 'Running' tab. In the case of CM9 Beta 1, it should amount to 352MB total size.
Internal Storage is under the 'Downloaded' and 'All' tab.
'On SD Card' shows you what's on your SD Card.
I hope this helps.
Hi, I would like to ask you guys... Is it much better to move my apps to SD Card ( internal ), or should I leave it as it is..?? since there are options in Settings - Device - Apps , to "Move to SD Card" ..
It's quite confusing on Android.., sometimes a SD Card, can be mean an Internal, and an external

In general, if an app can be moved to the SD card, I do it. Technically, they should load slower from your SD card. The internal storage should be faster. But, it's probably so small that it's not noticeable.

I'm still confused here.., what is the phone mean by "move to SD Card" ?? , is it move to internal SD Card,, or to external SD Card..??
that concern me,, because I've only got 2 years old slow external SD Card ( class 2 ) ,,
but if what the Phone mean by Move to SD Card, is to internal SD Card,, I assuredly gonna moved there..

Generally it´s the internal SD where it will be moved. You can use Link2SD to move it to the external or swap the SDcards so the external will become the internal. This is what I´m doing as my new Class10 SDCard is actually faster than the build in internal one.

Any benefit if I move it to internal SD Card,, or it just the same..??
Since my external card are so old and slow, I think I just have to wait to get a better one, before I do the swap thing..
My I know what external SD Card that you use ? Brand and type..

As long you have enough space left on the partition where your Android is installed, I also wouldn´t move any apps as this is the fastest compared to internal or external SD cards. But for apps like Navigation with its huge maps its better to directly move them to the external SD card.
Previously I was using a Samsung Class10 SDCard but at the moment I´m using a noname Class 10 SDCard I bought on ebay. Doesn´t really matter as both perform very well though the noname is actually a bit faster.

Excellent... thank you for the explanation,,
oh and I has read about Link2SD ( the used,, how to use it, etc ),, I was though that a Swaping app to make from internal to external, but it wasn't..
And that actually pretty nice,, I think I'm gonna try that, since I don't like swaping EX to IN thing...
Hello everyone, you see I bought an SD 32GB
I want to know if there is a way to use as a primary this card and not the internal memory of the phone, not only want to save the photos, videos, music and that's in the options it brings to change the storage location, what I want is practically unusable leave 5 or 6GB approximate giving the 8GB internal that has to be used, perhaps unusable is not the right word because it sounds like that is damaged or something, but it is not the case
Practically what I want is that everything, absolutely all the information found in the internal memory, change to SD and automatically this as the main stay, to save all kinds of things
I want to split if the SD memory is possible 15/15 or 20/10 GB, for use as internal memory and SD card, so that when you look in the phone information displayed instead of 6GB, this amount as internal memory
Having explained this I think should understand why use the word "useless" because practically 6GB memory brings the phone would no longer be used, everything would be stored in memory SD
I have a Redmi 1S
I'm using the latest Rom V7 China
I think you get to read something like this was possible in Redmi 1, but if I remember one of the cons of doing so was that he should spend a minute after ignition to take effect, which means that if for any reason you should save or something came in that moment the phone memory usage would be 6GB, and not the SD, which I want to avoid at all times if possible in the Redmi 1S
If anyone can help me, I appreciate it!
Please accept my apology for any grammatical errors in advance since English is not my first language
cm 13 has the option to make external sd to be used as internal sd and the rom will format your external sd so make backup if need to, and 2 partition is possible android mm will automatically mount your second partition as removable storage aka external storage. you may need a very fast sdcard. dont blame me if it not work for you since i dont try it myself

I have a "Samsung 32GB EVO Class 10 Micro SDHC up to 48MB/s " SD Card you think that this is good memory?
automatically cm13 make all this for me? I don't have to do nothing? Only selecting the option to use the sd card memory as internal storage and the true internal storage not be available?

if you want 2 partitions you better partition the sdcard 1st on your pc, its up to you which size. the rom will ask what you want u want to do with the sdcard (it will mount 2 partition if u have 2 partitions). since i dont try it myself you better heading to cm13 thread
