Hi, I am currently on CM10.1 nightly, however sometimes, VERY VERY rarely, my phone crash when i receive a call, I can hear the phone ringing, but the screen just wont turn on.
I am not able to replicate the error, but it happens, and it is very rare.
So here comes the question, i assume switching back to stock would solve this issue for me. Will stock have better battery life as well? Assuming I am using the same kernel (ak kernel).
If not, how much of a difference are we talking about? I am currently very satisfied by the cm10.1 stock launcher with ak kernel. The main reason why am i even using cm10 is because of the resizable widgets (yes i know i can get custom launcher but i dont like to install them somehow.......personal issues).
Any idea guys? I am facing the same problem on my nexus 7 as well. Any input is greatly appreciated

Using the latest version of MIUI-XJ a2sd+ and for some reason after about a week of use, 'it' unchecks vibrate when in silent mode. Very annoying! I can change it back, but 'it' just changes it again...weird?
The only thing i can think of having changed here would be using the tiamat kernel. So i'm going to use the cyanogen kernel and see if it continues..but in the mean time, does anyone have any idea why this is happening? Its ruining my MIUI/Desire experience and having only recently upgraded from my hero to a 2nd hand desire, this is making me quite 'upset', for want of a better word.
Oh and I really don't know if this would make a difference, but sometimes when using sense roms the haptic feedback on the htc-ime turns off for a short while...could this be something wrong with the hardware?
Thanks
So, reverting to the stock cyanogen kernel didn't fix it..so its nothing to do with tiamat, has no one else experienced this?
I'm working around it by having it on a very low volume...

Dear friends,
I have problem with my Nexus. Sometimes it vibrates by itself, without any reason. I don't mind it but it is little bit annoying. What can it be? I am on JB + franco's kernel.
Thanks.

Check all software that issues notifications and make sure none is set to vibrate. Like Yahoo, Facebook, etc.
Also happening to me. I rebooted and it's ok for another few days then vibrate itself again... I don't care now XD
Checked all options and I am thinking that settings are good. I don't use any of social apps except Instagram and twicca. This is very strange and happens randomly.
Do you ever get asked to choose an app to open 'something' with? like email apps etc?
Also do you have a folder in your gallery with a load of screen shots?
This is usually cause by the automated bug report system.
you may have to wipe data and re-flash rom/kernel.
Yes, happens all the time. So this is rom fault? Should I just use rooted stock?

This was happening all the time to me, on stock ICS and when I went to JB.. I am running my own build of CM10 and the issue has subsided.
Personally I Think a bad flash is to blame.
just try reflashing.. like i say i had this problem consistently and flashed many different roms with no resolution.. but now its fine very odd..
Like i say do a wipe and full flash/reinstall.
I found solution to my problem. You have to disable bug mailer. Just rename /system/bin/bugmailer.sh to bugmailer.sh.bak and you are good to go.
Hi guys,
I recently flashed AOKP JB (the official one, I believe, not Euroskank) but cant get Spotify to work on it. The app opens but wont show anything, it just stays blank. I can even open the sidebar-tab-thing but it is also blank. Does anyone else have the same problem or am I alone with this one?
I really like AOKP due to the features it is offering and would not want to go back to rooted stock or any other ROM but I also like to use Spotify every now and then which I now seem to be unable to do. Any fix (other than I already mentioned) would be very welcome. I am also using Trinity kernel if that helps.
Thanks in advance for everyone who at least tries to help!
Greetings once again,
I am using GO SMS Pro and for some reason when I get an MMS I get no notification sound and no vibration. The screen will pop on, but I get no other notification. I tried disabling GO SMS and using the native Messaging app, but it still persists.
Anyone know what this issue is?
I dont know if this is carrier specific. I dont know what service you use but I have a Verizon Galaxy Nexus, rooted, custom ROM and all. I have had this problem before. On CM 10.1, I never had this issue. On a couple others I did which made me switch back to CM. I would get a notification (vibration, light) but when I turned the screen on, there was nothing there. Or I just would not get other peoples texts all together. I dont know what the issue is though or what causes it.

I am on Verizon as well, rooted, running AOKP. I have been on AOKP for a long time and I used to not have this issue at all.

Yeah, the ROMs I used that had that issue were AOKP based. Carbon Rom and JBSorcery. Both started having this issue. Although, Carbon ROM was fine when I first started using it. But like I said, I have never had that issue with CM so I dont know if its a ROM problem or what. I cant explain it. Thats what always kept me going back to CM.
Ive been having the same issue, I think I first noticed it after I went to 4.2 (aokp)

I've never had this problem before. I'm having it on Carbon ROM nightlies right now. I've even tried re-applying the sounds, choosing different sounds, and re-flashing the ROM or another nightly and I still have the same problem. What gives?!?!
So I've been having a bit of trouble with my t989 lately, when I try unlocking the phone I will either get a black screen (the lock screen will appear for a split second before going blank if I hit the lock button again) or it won't track my finger movements on the screen. If I manage to unlock the device I end up seeing numerous graphic glitches ranging from the bar at the top w/ the clock/battery meter just gone and the keyboard not working.
I'm runing CM9.0.0 because I had issues with 10.2 (battery wouldn't charge) and 10.1.3 (similar to my lock screen issues but not as severe, still agitating) and also 9.1 which had the same exact issues as I'm having now. I've tried installing with different gapps but the same thing happens. The phone will work for a day or two, then the glitches come. After resetting, everything is normal for a day or so, then it's normal a few hours, etc. The time is getting narrower between reboots and it's a bit frustrating.
Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong, if anything? I flash via twrp and wipe, then install the rom, then install gapps, then reboot, wait 20min, reboot, and go about my business w/ the setup and such. I would be fine going back to 10.1.3 but jellybean roms and snapchat don't really like to work together on this phone for some reason. It's really the only app I use because it seems like the only way my friends want to communicate nowadays, so I'd prefer to stay on ics if possible...
If anyone can give any insight I'd really appreciate it

Have you tried using Odin to flash back to stock? That is usually the recommended step if you are having problems with custom ROMs.
And the newest stock is 4.1.2, so at least you wouldn't have to be on ICS.

I'll give that a try. Odin is just the program used to root originally, correct? Also, I want to stay on ICS if possible. So after doing that I'm going to try CM9 again and see how that works.
Anyway, the past few days I've been using AOKP mr2 milestone 1 and it's been okay. For some reason the battery life is bad even with juice defender and a task killer taking care of things. In a matter of minutes after clearing tasks I'm down from ~350mb of ram free to 60. Is that normal with that rom?
I'm not sure what to do at this point. I'm not the best with technology but i figured i was smart enough to figure this out...
bump.
I still haven't tried flashing w/ odin yet. Does anyone know where I can find a gingerbread stock rom? I've been looking for a while and can only find the jellybean one. Since I want to stay on ICS what I want to do is go from gingerbread and up to that rather than downgrading from the jellybean stock rom if that makes sense.
