Bootloader relocked on its own now wont accept token - HTC One V

So i unlocked bootloader and did not compete rooting process and when i went to finish, the phone had relocked itself. Now it will not let me unlock it again. I flashed the ruu provided in a post on this site and reset everything and tried again. Nothing.
When i flash unlock_code.bin it says: sending unlocktoken (0 kbs) and that's it, nothing more. When i finally disconnect usb it says fail. Error too many links
I am having such a difficult time with this phone! Any suggestions out there??

try again whole process and it should unlock

xp?
I must've tried it 20 times with the same results.
So I copied my files to a flash drive and packed em on over to a friend's computer running windows7and bam first try. Must not like my ol xp system.
Do I'm unlocked and flash the twrp recovery and follow the steps power this forum and when I go to install the htc dumlock files it installs and then I reboot but when I enter the app tray to install and run dumlock it says program quit working and closes down so I can't update binary.
So at this point there I'd no WiFi or 3G and I'm forced to run RUU to rest phone cuz my dumb A$$ forgot to backup after installing twrp:/
What should I try to install or what steps should I take next?
Thanks in advance for the advice!!! Much appreciated

I dont think you have to RUU your phone at this point. Just do this.
Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1676686 and download the version for HTC one V,
download downloads.noshufou.netdna-cdn.com/superuser/Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip
and downloads.androidsu.com/superuser/su-bin-3.1.1-arm-signed.zip
move both of these on your SD card
Restart your phone without connecting it yet to the PC in bootloader, you just shut it down, and then you press volume down and power. in the bootloader menu select the 1st option FASTBOOT. you should see in red text FASTBOOT.
Plug the USB cable in the phone and FASTBOOT should change to FASTBOOT USB. open All In One tool and select upper right option Flash Recovery. TWRP GSM (if you use PrimoU) or TWRP CDMA. (For PrimoC).
If the recovery is succesful you can select now in the fastboot menu to go to recovery. in recovery select install and flash those two files to install the Switch User (superuser in this case) and...that should be it. please let me know how it works, im not very good at this either but that's how i did it every time and it was 100% fail safe for me.

Thank u
Thank u very much, it worked perfectly!
Now I found the rom Im gonna try out, can u explain to me what is meant by flashing the rom and kernel and gaaps? This is my first root evall these terms and such confuse me and sepecially which mode to be in,if debugging needs to be on or off... learning rapidly tho, thank u
Ive decided to try Black Jelly btw, any reviews or xperience or suggestions r apreciated

i'm too lazy to help you out... and you are too lazy to search it out... there are TONS of "how to flash your one v" in our threads... search for them - either here on Help and Troubleshooting or in General.

You copy the kernel on your desktop, put the phone in fastboot USB mode and in the all in one tool select flash kernel, browse to the kernel needed for the ROM you chose (make sure to read the threads for the Roma very well so you can learn about bugs they might have)
You need to copy the ROM and the halls (google apps) on your Sd card. Reboot in recovery, select wipe, and use only the following options: wipe cashe, wipe system, wipe dalvik, reset factory. I hope I remembered the names well. Now go to install and flash the ROM, like you did with superuser, and reboot the phone, the first boot can take up to 5 minutes so don't worry. After it boots conpletly you can go again in,recovery and flash gapps. I recommend that when you flash things, to do a reboot betweeen each program. Also, there's no need to use any of the wipe option. Wipe is only for when u change the ROM good luck

[Q] OMG - can't open recovery cache on evo

HI - I pray that some can help me resolve my issues. I had to return my phone to sprint for another, this morning I received my new phone and started the recovery process unfortuanely in the middle of it i remember that did not back up my orginal system. Now I have this error "can't open recovery cache" when I attemt to enter in to rooting steps. it aborts on each try. Can some pleaseover me some advise on how I can gain access to my recovery rom so I can complete my rooting process?
If you're trying to restore the backup of your old phone, I HIGHLY don't recommend it.
Can you just not get into recovery?
No Sir I am not, I have no way of gaining access to the recovery system, my phone is functional but I have no way to go into recovery program. I have made a terrible mistake, once I hold the volume button down and attempt to enter hboot it simple locks with the 2-phased dark battery with the big red triangle.
this is the message i get
E:CAN't open /cahe/revoery/comand
---Install from sdcard
Finding update cae...
Opening updae packge...
Verying update package.
E:failed to open /sdcard/update.zip (No such file or directory)
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
That's the entire message
Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated
Lawlz, no need for sir.
I don't feel like re-uploading the file, but second the second post here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1062442
Place the file on your sdcard, as it is, not renamed, not extracted, ect. Boot into the bootloader, it'll scan, apply update, reboot, reboot into recovery, and you'll be on amon_ra 2.3.
The ! is you trying to get into recovery, but you're on stock recovery, which is no recovery. And you are rooted, s-off?
Do you have root access in your rom? You can try installing a recovery image from ROM manager or find the AmonRa thread on here and flashing the PC36IMG.zip from that thread from within hboot.
teh roxxorz beat me to it...
I have attempt to use the recovery manager - it force closes
I have attempt to use the terminal manager - commands not recongized
I will attempt to upload the link provided and let you know
Aye aye cappy, we'll be lurking.
Sniff, sniff nothing still the same errors
Well no luck, I have purchased the rom manager- it forecloses, I have downloaded, installed and rebooted to bootloader no luck, I have tryed everything i know which is very little. I guess I should consider my lucky that I have a funtional phone, but I will have no access to the recovery mode so i can root it. sigh....
To answer your previous questions
The ! is you trying to get into recovery - Yes that is when i get the error
, but you're on stock recovery, which is no recovery.
And you are rooted, s-off? - No I not rooted yet
I was trying root my new phone when i got myself into this mess,

What method of rooting were you using, and which recovery did you try flashing? As teh roxxorz asked, your hboot is s off right? It sounds like your best bet will be to run an RUU and start over again.

That's why its not working, you're not rooted.
http://unrevoked.com/recovery/ < use unrevoked
http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/windows_hboot_driver_install < install these hboot drivers first
Make sure usb debugging is enabled on your phone, settings > applications > development
Then connect the phone to the pc in charge on, run unrevoked, and you'll be good to go.

That means you have no recovery, and you have no recovery because you aren't rooted. if you follow the instructions I posted above, you'll be good.
Sigh... I was in the process of performing this when I got into trouble, I have the andriod bootloader install, I power down and reboot using volume down key and power, once there I allow the system to perform system check then I select hboot, I have inserted usb cord once this process start and directily run unvoked3. What occurs then is it is not recongizing my phone for some reason and just sits there in limbo for 15 to 20 minutes. I have also unistalled htc sync, cleanded files, and reboot 3 times. I will continue and maybe i will get lucky

You need to turn the phone on, normally, boot into the phone, then connect the phone in charge only, do that, and run it again.

[Solved] Bricked HTC One X (International)

Hi guys, well I'm a new HTC One X owner and I just jumped ship from the iPhone. I had jailbroken my iPhone several times with only minor problems in the past so I thought I'd give it a try on the One X. Unfortunately, I think I've really screwed something up and now when i boot it up, it vibrates and then hangs at the HTC Quietly Brilliant screen. So here's what I did:
I downloaded Hasoon2000's HTC One X All-In-One v.1.1 kit. I followed the instructions and as far as I could tell, everything worked fine. The bootloader was unlocked and I was able to root the phone. However, after installing a couple of apps which all crashed when I tried to run them (it made the phone restart), I decided to do a factory reset and do it again. So i held onto the power button + volume down and went into the Bootloader and tried to reset it which then took me to the CWM 5.8.4.0 screen. I then did the factory reset there which led me to where I am now.
Could someone please tell me where to proceed from here to bring it back up and running normally again? As you can probably tell, I know next to nothing about Android so I would really appreciate some patience and step by steps. I've already scoured Google looking for a solution but I could never understand what people were talking about. If you need any more information to give you a better diagnosis, please let me know and maybe tell me how to find the information
Thanks a lot people, any help would be much appreciated!

Sorry, I'm embarrassed to say that I'm not sure exactly what you mean. By that, do you mean did I install a non-stock OS? If so, then the answer would be no. I did flash the recovery with CWM 5.8.4.0 but I have a feeling that, that's not what you meant.

Thanks a lot man! Could you...please tell me how to do that? I saw a few threads discussing soft-bricks and they suggested downloading some stuff and then plugging the phone into the PC and typing some commands into cmd. But when I connect my phone into my PC i get no response, even when I'm in the Bootloader screen.
And also, does it matter which version of the official firmware i get? I saw people mentioned RUU files but it had to match my phone's version. Does this have anything to do with that?
I believe you should just plug the phone and run your factory ruu and that would do it and bring the phone back to stock.
Heres where u can get the ruu, am not sure whats the codename for the international hox but i think this is it. Please make sure you are using the correct ruu for your phone.

You should probably read up before trying this again. If you can hold the power button and volume down. It should bring you into a menu. You should press the volume down button until fast boot is highlighted and then press the power button to select it. Download htc sync and install the drivers. Go to the one x development section and download the ruu for your device. Then run the ruu.

Thanks a lot for the responses guys. That link you gave me says that they are ROMs for Endeavor, is that the same as a ruu? And also, how do i figure out which ruu is right for me? I'm in Switzerland and my carrier is Orange but I see several ruus there under orange but none of them are for Switzerland and there are even different version numbers. In my current state, is there a way for me to find out which version I need?
By the way, when I try to connect my phone to my PC in fastboot mode and open cmd prompt and type in "fastboot getvar cid", i get "'fastboot' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." If i click Fastboot on my phone and then HBOOT whilst plugged into the PC, i get a few lines on my phone saying that it "Failed to open USB master mode" and then "please plug off USB".

okay, I didn't realise I had to install fastboot on my PC. So i just configured it following the directions here: http://dottech.org/tipsntricks/2153...ows-computer-for-use-with-your-android-phone/
and now when my phone is hooked up to my PC and i type "fastboot getvar cid" into cmd prompt, i get this:
cid: None
finished. total time: 0.004s
So what does this mean?
Download an app from the marketplace and see what that comes up with. Also go into settings about phone software information then software number. What is the software number?

You are going to need to find out wich ruu version u need. I dont know how carriers identify themselves on europe. After you identify it get into the bootloader menu get on fastboot and the open the ruu you downloaded the software should do everything by itself. Btw if you do this your going back to stock that means no root no cwm or wtever you had your going to have to do everything again but at least you got the phone working. Once you identify the ruu you need i would not download the latest version just in case the carrier fixed the root method or something. Again i dont know much about how europe works and how bossy carriers are about rooting/unlocking bootloader. You can try asking on that same thread for the one you need. Someone elsr might have an answer. Good luck.
Ps. Am not sure if you are going to need to relock the bootloader in order for the ruu to run. Can someone shed some light on this?
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda premium
Btw before you do that have you tried getting on the recovery??? Can you get on cwm?? If u can do that i believe there no need to flash the ruu instead just flash a different rom maybe??? Did you get to make a backup before this happened??

Thanks a lot joker96. I can get into CWM, so how would i flash a different rom? Unfortunately, the only backups I made are of my personal files and apps, I didn't think to backup anything else.
What were you trying to do that made all this happen?

Oh derp sorry I completely forgot. You would download a different rom and follow the guides on the thread to install it. Wipe davlik cache, cache and data. Try ARHD.
Sorry, i didnt read the first post completly. So you did a factory restore wipe on cwm, am i correct? You didnt clear cache and dalvik?

Well the thing is, I'm not 100% sure what I did. First I did a factory reset on CWM and everything worked fine, but when my phone rebooted, I realised CWM was still there. What i wanted was to go back to square one, as in no recovery and no root. So i went back into recovery and wiped some other stuff, and that's when this happened. I know, I'm a total idiot, I don't know what i was thinking
Yea a different rom to what you had maybe that one had problems. ARHD is Android Revolution HD any other rom would work though. Just pick one from the development section.

Well i just took a look at the ARHD thread and I'm stuck on the second line of instructions: "Download "Super Wipe" script & place it on your SD card (optionally if coming from earlier version of my ROM, obligatory if coming from stock or other custom ROM)"
I have no access to my SD card, when i plug it into my PC, nothing happens because all i can do is go into recovery and bootloader.
Just a question, if I try to use the wrong ruu, what would happen?

If you used adb then you know more than I do.
The only thing I can think of is if you are full wiping.
Booting into recovery
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe dalvik
Format all partitions except sd card.
I suggested to get 4ext touch becauee you can use the screen to navigate in the recovery section instead of the volume buttons to format and flash.
If you are having hardware issues, could it be a hardware problem? It happebed after you got nervous which leads to believe it may be software related. But if you flashed a stock rom using adb, did that fully wiped your phone? I don't know.
If it didn't, try a full wipe.
Read this only for informational purposes. Don't try anything until you are sure it's not software related.

I can't help your problem, but if everything is really down and you're back on stock ROM, without root, go and complain to HTC and whatever your service provider is. Pretend like you don't know what happened. If you have a good provider, or if your phone warranty hasn't expired yet, then they should fix it for you.

I used 4EXT Recovery after that to wipe data again and flash another ROM...I flashed many ROMS after that but same....camera, Volume keys and earphone slot is not working....
Someone told me to flash an RUU that will overwrite all the previous data by using ADB....i did it as well...Everything went fine again....ROM was flashed....but F**king problem remains the same....

flash it used fastboot (adb tools)
1.Turn off your phone
2. Hold the volume down button + power until you boot to a white screen.
3. Use the volume rocker to select FASTBOOT then press the power button to select it.
4. Connect your phone.
5. Open up a windows command prompt and navigate to your sdk tools or platform tools folder. tools (c:\android-sdk-windows\tools) or platform-tools (c:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools) (ore where you have the adb)
6. Type FASTBOOT DEVICES to make sure your computer "sees" your phone and is ready to flash the recovery. You should get a serial number and then the word fastboot as the output.
7. Type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and press enter. Give it a minute to do it's thing. You should get a message that says writing recovery and success.
(you must have the recovery.img on the same place as fastboot)
8. Unplug your phone and use the volume rocker to select BOOTLOADER and then again to select RECOVERY and you should be booted into the 4ext recovery

Replacement Battery, Or broken phone?
Looking to replace this naff ass broken "replacement HTC Desire HD" battery. Any suggestions? Are these High Capacity Gold battierys any use?
This battery if I turn the phone on it then powers off as dead. Unless I have it connected to a charger first. Then I can see the battery is actually got a charge in it.
Is this the battery of perhaps an issue with the phone?

Did you do a full wipe (system, data, and cache) before flashing? Are you S-Off with AAHK or S-On with unlocked bootloader?

Yes, i did a full wipe before flashing...
I cant see if i´m S-ON or Off because i can´t go to the original boot menu, but i think its S-Off because the Rom that was in the phone before i messed with it was not the original

An unlocked bootloader with S-On still permits flashing of custom ROMs. Is your recovery updated? If not, do that.

The guide in post #7 of the guide in my signature is pretty clear. Read that. What is important to know is whether your phone is S-On bootloader unlocked or S-Off. Since you didn't hang on the boot splash when you flashed ARHD, I'm guessing S-Off. But just to be safe: to find this information, reboot while holding power and volume-down. That is your bootloader, known as hboot. What does it say? Finally, my hunch is that you need to update your recovery. The guide has instructions for that, but basically, download the image to your computer and flash it from fastboot.
Oh, and you may need to install your drivers on your computer. Install HTC Sync from the HTC website.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1824379. But if power and volume-down (you're using down, not up, right?) boot into CWM, sounds like a problem with your volume buttons.

When you're tired, it's best to get some sleep. Most mistakes happen when sleepy and tired (been there!) so I'd suggest a little shut-eye and continue then
Sounds to me like the problem will get solved pretty soon, just read the guides and don't rush things. If unsure, read the guide (for what-ever you are doing) a second or a third time and don't try doing many things at the same time (ie.don't try updating your radio, rom, & recovery all at the same time ).
Pretty much anything can be fixed as long as you got recovery working so don't stress too much. Best of luck and hope you get your phone working soon :good:
Still havn´t found a solution for my problem, but i think i´m on to something....
I think the problem with my phone is the boot.img.... i can´t flash it correctly...
Dont know what program to use or what file to download.... i tried openning a command list but i and type "fastboot flash boot boot.img" as i´ve seen on other posts but i always get "this is not known as an internal or external command, etc...."
What can i doooooooooooooo?!!!! going crazy with this
Hey buddy, stay calm haha. I had the exact same problem. The problem is that although you tried to flash it, you nee to have the boot.img and some files including fastboot.exe. All of the files you need and how to flash the rom are in a guide by glevitan. You can just google it.

You need to type fastboot from the cmd.

already did but it wont recognize the command
Then your drivers aren't working. Uninstall and reinstall with the phone unplugged.

[Q] Can't boot into recovery

Firstly I did look for similar threads but I couldn't find my problem with entering recovery mode.
So I get to the bootloader and I hit "recovery" to go into recovery mode to back up before I start flashing roms. All that happens for me is it loads into a black screen with a phone in the middle and a green arrow pointing down into the phone with two green arrows circling the downard arrow, then it flashes black, then comes up with the same screen except it's now a red triangle over the phone with an exclamation mark in the middle. I'm assuming this is to represent an error occuring.
The phone won't do anything after this and I have to restart the phone by holding the power button for long enough (7 seconds?). This brings me back into my phone as if I hadn't done anything. I don't want to start flashing things if I can't backup my phone, I don't know how to get around this. Oh and I have installed ROM Toolbox and the same thing occurs when trying to enter recovery mode through this app. Any help will be amazing!
P.S: My phone is rooted, and I left the bootloader unlocked, would not locking it after rooting be a problem? I'm new to all of this :/
did you flashed the correct recovery?
Incase u didnt . Head here

I tried flashing CWR v 5.8.4.5 but that wouldn't install through ROM Toolbox so I tried TWRP v 2.5.0.0 (and the previous versions), none of them brought me any further than the red triangle :/
So I decided to try ROM Manager, I then flashed CWR 5.8.4.5 (successfully) and rebooted into recovery, it brought me to the circling arrows with a loading bar that got not even 1/4 through then it changed to a question mark over the phone and restarted itself within 5 seconds. This is the most progress I've made. Any ideas on what to try next?

download it from here http://projectsmyrna.com/PRIMOU/RECOVERY/cwmrecovery6.0.3.3touch.img
try from beginning, take a cwm recovery into fast boot folder
place it there, restart your htc one v and goto bootloader then fastboot option
open command prompt there in the folder by holding shift key and type "fastboot flash recovery cwmrecovery6.0.3.3touch.img"

i dont know what the rom toolbox or rom manager does because i dont use much of these apps and rom manager had a great reputation on xda forums that it bricks the device....
try the manual way..
download revovery (appropriate) [would recommend cwm but twrp is also good]
boot into bootloader mode (I'm sure you know this)
connect device to the computer via usb cable
then paste the recovery image in th fastboot folder located on your computer (if u have a rooted device I'm sure u must know what a fastboot folder is..)
then rename recovery to recovery.img
then open command prompt
type cd C:\fastboot (C:\fastboot is the location of your fastboot folder on your pc.. it can be any other location also)
then type--- "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" (but without the quotes)
your recovery wil be flashed..
there are other recovery flashing guides also u can refer to them in case u understand/are not familiar with all these things...
hope it helps..
good luck..:good:

Thanks Heaps! I did hear about how Rom Manager is infamous for bricking phones so I thought it would be safe enough to flash a recovery (it's not phone bricking stuff is it?) But Rom Toolbox is kind of a lot of different apps in one that seems pretty legit. To be honest I was just trying to be lazy and not bother learning all of this the manual way but it sounds like I might have to just do it the manual way haha, manual is often the best way with a lot of things anyway.
Thanks also for the little tutorial, you're quite right, even though I'm new I'm a fast learner and I've had plenty to do with computers so I know what all of the commands are doing and the terminology but thanks for covering the bases It's nice to see a noob friendly community around, not too common these days.
So yeah, flashed CWR touch, and got into it with no problem, created my nandroid with no problem. Now I'll set to flashing roms (the manual way) Thanks to everyone here for helping me you're all great
