[Q] Which ROM is the best for me? - HTC One X

Hi,
I would like to install a custom ROM (+ root my phone). Now I'm using the stock Jelly Bean but I think that it drains a lot of battery (one charge lasts in about 10 hours and I just stream music via TuneIn + 20 mins Ingress and I think that isnt too much and phone should endure more).
I'm searching for a good ROM with great stability a performance. The main requirement is the battery life. Also the shoud run on a JB (4.1 or 4.2). I found CM 10.1 but is it convenient enough for me?
Thanks for your advices

I think is OrDroid
However, moderators don't like this gener of thread...

Ordroid is apparantly THE best for Battery Life.
Also give Blade ROM a go, VERY LIGHT ROM therefor easy on battery.
Those 2 are brilliant for battery, ViperX not so good for battery, but great for customisation.
PS - This thread will be closed, this isn't a question that can necessarily be answered, its personal preference based on the way YOU use YOUR phone.

Oh, I am sorry about that but I don't know where should I ask.
You are recommending me a Sense ROMs but what if I want original Android? Is there any which meets with my requirements?

Moderator update,
This thread is closed. These type of questions are hard to answer as a rom will work differently for each person using it. Best thing to do is to try different ones for your self

Best custom rom for battery management

I was wondering which rom out of the many available - is best in terms of battery life?? I didn't really want to start a whole new thread .. but i am looking for those here who have flashed most of the custom desire roms on XDA, I need a rom that manages battery better then most.

I'm pretty sure that you are going to have lots of answers. Unfortunately, each one, talking about one rom or the other will tell you that its rom is better that others.
I'm running a ROM developped by a single developper (Itanium 1.8 today) and the battery life is pretty good. Undervolt mod is included, several optimizations have been made for battery usage, but again, I'm pretty sure Cyanogen and OpenDesire (these are examples, not the only ROMs working fine I guess) are good at saving baterry life...
So I would say it's hard to tell, and the best advice would be for you to test several of these and find the one which best suits your needs... You might end with a ROM which might give you less battery life, but which would looks better for you and for your usage (Sense based, without Sense...).
Hope this makes sense.

thanks for the info bro I hope others will also post a comment. Although, as you said - opinions will dither, it will still be good to get an overall opinion from many XDA desire users.

[Q] Which ROM for best battery life but w stock Sense feel (for the wife's phone!)?

Hi,
I'd appreciate some advice (having searched as best I can first, and without hijacking another thread) - I'm a Nexus One user (running CM6.1, and very happy with it), but my wife's Desire (currently unrooted stock latest OTA update) has a sucky habit of running the battery down to zero every so often when she's not using it and I've been thinking a custom ROM is the way to go. However, there's a lot of roms for the desire, and I can't work out which meets the requirements best:
1) Must appear to be a stock Sense rom to the user (she's just got used to the UI, and I don't want her to get flustered) - I'd like something that seems as much like the stock rom as possible please.
2) Best possible battery life (happy to try uv if it's unobtrusive)
Any replies very much welcome, ta.
Jim
I prefer not to say which ROM is better compared to other ROMs as I think it would be unfair on the developers who have put in so much hard work to bring us such a great variety of ROMs, but in terms of battery life, I would personally say that I had the best battery performance out of OpenDesire. The only problem though is that OpenDesire does not have Sense UI. With it, I was averaging about 2-3 days (depending on usage) use out of it before I need to put it on the charger. At that time, I was also running a different Radio (5.10.05.23).
If you really need Sense UI, then I would suggest LeeDroid's ROM as it provides pretty good battery life as well.
Have you considered the MIUI ROMs? they are pretty new and highly customisable, with an iOS like interface with widgets, also provide impressive battery life and are very stable.
I'm sure many would disagree with my findings but this is just based on my own experience of using these ROMs.
MasDroid,
Many thanks for the advice - I've gone with LeeDroid and it's worked like a charm. A well supported and stable ROM, which I'll recommend to anyone in the same position.
Thanks again!
J
I second MasDroid's opinion about LeeDroid ROM.
I am glad you're enjoying such a good ROM. Hope your wife is happy, i know how important that is

[Q] Longest Battery Life rom

I have been flashing roms on my phones since my very first android phone. Just going to get a dirt-cheap refurbished Xperia S, and I am planning to use this phone when I am in army for my conscription. (Yes, I know it's sad. )
So I heard that the standard Xperia S rom do not have the best battery life for a smartphone, so I would need my Xperia S to do the following:
1. I will be shutting off my phone during my training. Will only be using it at about night time (about an hour or 2 at the most.). But I may forget to turn it off. So I hope to have a good standby time.
2. Hopefully by switching on and off, I can last for about 2 weeks in a single charge (sounds like a hard task for a smartphone.)
3. I don't mind under-clocking and under-volting the phone to further stretch my battery life. But it still must be stable and generally smooth (gaming performance can be compromised.)
4. Obviously, with my cellular radio, WiFi, and all other stuff intact (don't mind if my camera is dropped to 720p though.)
So tl;dr, I need a good Xperia S rom/kernel that is able to last through my grueling schedule. Hope that I can obtain some useful advices. Thanks a lot.
As per XDA rule, do not ask questions about which ROM is best or Best ROM for Battery life. Otherwise MODs will close such threads without any further delay.
And As ApriliaM3 mentioned also -
Read rather than post, that's my tip... There's no such thing as a best or smoothest ROM. Check the responses here but also check the OP of the different ROMs, decide on 2 or 3 and try them for yourself. It's certainly not something that you need to create a new thread to accomplish.

I am not asking for the best. I just need some roms that are targeted to have a better battery life than stock rom. Because there are so many roms, that I have no idea which one have battery life as their main objective.

[Q] which rom is the most battery friendly?

I'm looking for the most battery friendly rom there is out there.
I don't care for features - only battery life.
A rom and battery life are related to what you do with your phone. So there is no "most" or "best".

Stick with stock and just disable any bloat apps you don't need. You won't see much, if any, change running a custom rom.
Sent from my GT-N7100
As he said there is no best or most.
But I do recommend you to try Android Revolution HD ROM.
Only ROM I know very close to stock.

And before anything else, do a EFS backup.

for now the best battery is with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2415582 thunderlite
I have been trying to get an amazing battery life and all I can say so far is
you can try wanamlite (standart features and really good battery life)
thunderlite ....but everytime i try to flash walkman from sony it breaks (i used this apk on other roms and it works flawlessly)
and swift v4 is really good too.
all of them have amazing battery life and also you can use greenify to kill apps like facebook that are like leechers sometimes.
Good question danielfiller.
Guys what about CM-based roms ?

Same answer. Battery life depends on what you're doing with your phone. I cam chew through a full charge quicker by playing IronMan, versus it sitting there doing nothing.

You're totally right. However, if you are to let your phone set ideally. Do you think it would drain faster if CM-based is installed ?
I would guess sitting idle doing nothing, the differences would be negligible.
I think you would see marginally different gaps by using various kernels. Some are geared to better handling wakelocks and shutting things down to a very low state while idle. But, end of day, I would wager a difference of maybe 30mins, if there was one.
Andreilux, the brains behind the perseus kernel (tw roms only) could give a much better insight on the edge cases and why/how drains happen outside of errant apps. But most mere mortals may go glassy eyed trying to follow along.

[Q] Looking for the most battery efficient ROM

Greets.
Pretty much as the title says. The last costum ROM I was running was CM9, since then I've been running stock because I am using it as a dev device primarily. Now I've got another one with a cracked touch so I'm using that one for dev purposes.
Lately tho my main one seems to be draining my battery way to fast - esspecially when mobile data is on (which is pretty much all the time). It used to go for a solid day or a day and a half with data on but now it dies in about 5-6 hours.
So I decided to go back to costum roms now that I don't need a clean device anymore. Which would you pps say that is the most battery efficient costum rom out there? CM, Paranoidandroid, any other? Or better yet which kernel is best in battery efficiency?
Cheers for the answers
Mod Edit
Best ROMS/kernels are not allowed on XDA.
Please test these things for yourself.
This is the only way you will get an unbiased opinion, and then, you can decide for yourself if it meets YOUR needs.
