[Q] Google Play - Magazine Subscription - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I was looking into purchasing magazines (import auto performance) through Google Play, but I'm not sure if I will also have access to magazines I paid for after my subscriptioin. Eg. If I do a 12mnth subscription for Jan-Ded 2013, if I don't renew in 2014, would I have access to my 2013 issues. Reading through the terms, it seems to indicate I won't, but it's not clear. Anybody know?

yes the magazines get archived until you delete them :good:

in order to get this to work you have to
1.) uninstall the market you have
2.) install to /system/app
3.) fix permissions
4.) reboot
hope that helps people trying to get this to work.

My Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro (gingerbread 2.3.4) received the update and it's changed already..
The application icon name = "Google Play Store" version 3.4.7 changes the name "Android Market".
and inside it, the logo is "Google Play" not the "Play Store" eventhough the contents just the same as "Android Market" version, without "Play Music", "Play Book" and "Play Movie" as in page 1..
I'm not sure I like the new name. Seems kind of immature.

"My Library" widget for other apps?

Hello,
Please forgive me as I am completely new to the world of Andorid and the Widget kingdom, I have just bought the Nexus and have now discovered that I am unable to add books that I have previously bought to Google Books. As this is the case I have downloaded Kobo and managed to transfer the books on to there. My only question would be is there a way to mimic the current "My Library" widget showing the books and magazines on the homescreen whilst using another app?
Thanks

Does Kobo have it's own widget? Do you know how to check?

If you used the same Gmail account, all your books you've bought in the Book store should show up.
As for the widget, no, the My Library widget is Play Store specific.
See if Kobo has its own widget.

Scope of security software though Google Play Store

Hello good people,
First off, a very Merry Christmas/Holidays to you and yours if you participate in this time of year.
I have a question regarding running system security software installed via Google play store.
Both my elderly parents have similarly ageing Android tablets they've used for years, and I have a subscription to Bitdefender Total Security which covers us all under our Windows desktop, and Android devices.
For Christmas I have got them the new Fire HD 8 and All-New Fire HD 10 tablets.
I've already installed Google stuff using the 4 files below on the 10 as there are certain apps they can't do without (old dogs and new tricks etc) and will be doing the same on the 8 tomorrow.
1. Google Account Manager APK
2. Google Services Framework APK
3. Google Play Services APK (Fire HD 8 version)
4. Google Play Store APK
There is no Amazon appstore version of Bitdefender Mobile Security, only the free av, so I've installed Bitdefender Mobile Security though Google play store but when I ran a scan it seemed to be over and done with extremely quickly.... my question is, due to it being installed through Google, is it still able/reliable enough to run at such a level of the OS and oversee all that it should.
I've only recently renewed the subscription of Bitdefender so would rather not hear... "oh that's crap, use this instead" or "you can use free ones if you keep updating"
Many thanks folks

UK poster here.
I'd be really interested to hear the experiences of those running the Matepad Pro out of the box without a 'hacked' version of the Google play store running.
Being Google free (ok, almost Google Free) isn't a bad idea in principle - as long as I'm not totally hamstringed by the alternative. Given I've other devices running the full compliment of Google services it may not be a deal breaker.
Plus I'm mainly interested in purchasing it for the M-Pen functionality - I can't afford the more expensive devices that come with a pen - I've had a Samsung S3 + S-Pen and it didn't particularly impress me anyway!
I do have a Huawei M5 and have installed the Huawei app store to get an idea of what to expect - plus I'll do my due diligence but it would still be really useful to hear from someone who uses it without any hacks to get Google working fully.
I have the Matepad Pro WiFi now from July and I think it is outstanding allowing the fact it does not have Google services. I tried all the hacks to date to install them with no success so settled for VMOS virtual machine and find it allows me to use the Google apps I need/use with no problems.
Other than Google I am running Amazon, Netflix, BBC iPlayer, Twitter, Disney and a lot of other apps natively.

[APK request/troubleshooting] All 4 (UK app) on US Fire TV

Sorry for the newbie-level question - we just ran out of options and would love some help.
We have an Amazon Fire TV (built in - not the stick), latest software as of Nov 27, 2022.
We're trying update an app, All 4, going through Downloader (as UK apps are "unavailable" on the Appstore). The version we have stopped working (got an error - "out of date").
So we first tried latest APK file here: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/channel-4-television-corporation/
But, unlike the old version we had, it is an Android mobile app (doesn't display well on TV) that requires Google Play services to run. It opens but nothing seems to work or look right.
Are we missing an APK file that should work on TV (i.e. is there an older APK file in the link above that should work/details we should be looking for when downloading these APK files to make sure they're compatible)?
Or if we go with the glitchy mobile app, any way to get Google Play services running in the background? (Unlikely, I imagine)
Or are there other workarounds we aren't thinking of? For example, we've tried de-registering our TV and using our UK Amazon account, though the UK apps like All 4 are still "unavailable" in the official Appstore.
Thanks a million for your help.
