Kernal - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hey guys I'm new to galacy s3 n new to Samsung. I just got rooted and now I'm trying yo settle down.. but I still need a kernal.
I'm looking for battery life and performance. What kernals do you recommend?.. thank you for the help
*Sent From My WickedBlueGs3!*

You need to give more info, what are you running I see in your sig wicked so I assume Evil's Wicked rom. Like I tell everyone else, a kernel is something you need to tinker with your self. Some settings that I use may cause your phone to not even boot up. Make sure you flash the proper kernel that is for a 4.1.1 touchwiz rom and play around with settings from there.

I've read that this kernal boots at 1.9Ghz and that it causes the phone to overheat. Which can end up killing your battery in general.. im at 23% with stock kernal after 13.5 hours. Which extremely good consider I used to get maybe 6 hours on the HTC rezound.. But if I can improve it that would be EVEN BETTER lol that's why I'm looking for a kernal.

I'm happy with my hitman kernel.
Sent from my Super Sexy Epic touch.
Does everything work? I gave zedos a spin but the wifi doesnt work so I am running the stock one. but I want to overclock and switch the boot animation, just not at the cost of wifi.

Personally I use hitman. If you're looking for performance, I've gotten over 6600 on quadrant. Also I undervolt it and get amazing ~20 hour battery life without any lag at all!
Question, I have the Blazer Rom 3.8 and the Hitman kernel. Loving the combination. I have setcpu setup so its overclocked. Just wondering How do I get my phone undervolted? trying to get the best out of the battery life.
I use Hitman also with Blazer and it works fine.

Btw you can also use SetCPU to undervolt with the "Voltages" tab for the paid version.

For undervolting I use Calkulin's scripts which work on hitman and Gunslinger kernels they can be found here:

Best ROM and kernel for Gnex

sorry because I'm new to Gnex, but I need some recommendation about the best ROM and kernel combination for battery life.. I'm now on stock 4.04 ROM & kernel.. •thanks if anybody can help me answer my question

I'm running gummy 101 and leankernel 340, nice and fast and i get anywhere from 12-24 hours on the 1850 mah stock battery
You touched a very sensitive part of gnex
Gnex battery sucks and everybody knows it
But all you get is an answer that: battery life for different users on a same ROM+kernel will always be different.
But I will tell you a secret No matter what rom or kernel you will use, you will still need to charge it overnight
Mine setup stock rom + franco kernel. Tried different kernel settings and seems that all I got is maybe +1hour of standby time. Screen time didnt increase a minute.

screen time refers to the time your screen is on. standby refers to the time your screen is off.
I am using the same combo as above - stock 4.0.4 ROM + franco kernel 3.0.8 M3. I am getting about 4 hours screen on time + 12-14 hours standby time with heavy usage.
i would also recommend you to install better battery stats and cpuspy to weed out any rogue applications preventing your phone to go to deep sleep.
I'm running winner00's cyanogenmod kang with the 551 Franco nightly, seems to be a very stable combination with pretty decent battery life.

Battery is mostyl kernel thing there i would prefer franco.kernel latest milestone is great for battery life if you are friend of testing you could install latest nightly. All explained into his thread in Developer section.
As stable ROM testing AOKP Milestone 5 release some days ago and it is very stable i think. It was also my first rom some months ago.
If you want compare this roms you should look into the threads, very helpful for me at begining.
Liquidsmooth is very clean and small only 80Mb compare to 140Mb they smalled the code an tried to be fastest an clean. If you try the latest release you get franco kernel milestone 3. Many users prefer this stock-kernel combination for battery life. But remeber it is only in english language if that is no problem try out.
If you are familar to testing something look at latest nigthlys from rom and kernel and testing it out.

I just did a AnTuTu benchmark... and i did not touch the rom/kernel in any way. And in my detailed scores it saying the clock frequency is under a GHz?? Could be throttling... Or depending on when the reading was taken could be correct. 1.8ghz probably isn't required to test sd card...
I have found that with faux kernel adjusting voltages has helped dramatically with the underclocking due to heat. I really hope morfic puts adjustable volts into a future kernel as these cpus seem to be hugely over volted (ymmv of course)

Might want to do flashes thru CWM, as it does not set off the ticker.
Although CM10 nightly builds are FAST! I am waiting for the final product here... wow.

What ROM/Kernel do you use for best battery life?

Hey all,
Just wanted to see which ROM/Kernel everyone is using. I'm looking to get the best battery life I can. I'm currently using Sammy but I've heard that the stock kernel is good as well? I'd love to hear everyone's recommendations and suggestions.
I'm using the current AOKP (actually i haven't installed the update from today yet) as well as the latest Ktoonez's KT747 kernel and have nothing but great things to say about the battery life. The KT747 also comes with Ktweaker for overclocking and undervolting which when balanced properly can increase performance all the while actually improving battery life.

Anyone know what would kill the battery? Im using ktoonsez and my phone wont sleep. Ive flashed multiple times, wiping in between each. I did abfull wipe with factory reset and all that. Still cant go no more than 7 hours on battery. I use this kernel with jellybomb with no issues. the updated ktoonsez doesnt run boot animations right. Audio is delayed until animation is complete or after 10 seconds. Any thoughts?
