I've gotten that error when I try to send a text and I'm in an area with little to no coverage. In the building I work in, I have very poor reception and I get that error message all the time. I've gotten that error on several roms, though, and not just Myn's.
Do you have good reception where you are experiencing this?
Is it an ongoing problem or did your phone just start doing it?
Have you tried rebooting the phone and see if it persists?
A lot of times, the phone will keep trying to push out the text(s) and the error message will keep popping up over and over.
I have 3/6 bars so not bad and i did reboot even unisinstalled widgeoids bc i read online anything that messes with apn can do that but nothing worked yet..

If you have your MSL, do a ##3282# and try resetting your data profile. If not, call Sprint and tell them and this is probably the first thing they will have you do and they will give you your MSL number. (Write it down as it is handy to have)
my phone was doing the same thing earlier today a battery pull solved my issues on a deoxed stock rom
I had this problem once. In my case, it was from restoring a bad backup of SMS/MMS messages and settings. I either had to clear [SMS/MMS/APN] Dialer Storage or [SMS/MMS PREFS] Messages. Or both. I can't remember.
I had the same problems so I started using handcent and no more issues after that.
Had failure only when my wifi was turned on. I doubt however that's an issue for Sprint users...
My evo uses a proxy for the mms...
OK, I have been dealing with this since I bought my GSII and cannot find any information about it.
Firstly I want to say that I am completely stock and unrooted.
My phone does not like to keep a stable data connection. About 50% of the time, when I try to do anything that requires a data connection (facebook, browser, gmail, etc.) the 2 arrows under the 2g/3g/4g icon will stick being grey and my phone just sits there "loading". I tried a factory reset, didn't install any apps, and also got a new sim card and the issue remains. It happens everywhere so it is not just a bad network connection.
I decided to post the question here because yesterday I was playing with my brother's GSII, and his did the same thing.. So it made me think that maybe it wasn't just me. Has anyone else experienced this? Or does anyone know what might be the cause?
Edit: I set my phone to use 2g only, and the problem vanished.. So it doesn't like to connect to 3g/4g.

Try going to your mobile network connection settings, choose access point names, hit your menu button and click "restore defaults".. It may fix it, I had data issues and it did the job. Hope it works for you!

Do what the gut above me said. Also call Tmobile and tell them, they will refresh your data connection on their end. That will clear up three problems your having.
But if it's also happening to your brothers phone, it's a network error. Call Tmobile.

I restored the apn settings and had Tmobile refresh my data connection, and it still happens. I noticed today that it's not just data, I'm also unable to call or text when it happens.. Tmobile just said everything tested normal so there is nothing they can do.. And I really don't think it's the phone so I don't want to exchange for a refurbished unless I have to.

Its happened to me before. For about a week, the data connection just dropped. It would come back for a bit and later vanish. I called t-mobile and they guided me through routine steps (i.e. taking the battery out, rebooting, resetting) but nothing seemed to work. They really couldn't figure it out and later told me to replace the SIM. I can't remember if they shipped me one or had to go to the store but either way that relieved the problem. This was on an HTC HD2.
That might not be the case with you though. At one point in time all the phones under my name lost data connectivity just as you explain. This really had no solution but to wait it out.

you mentioned your brother's is doing the same thing, its probably not the phone, but rather the cell tower your connected to is fuggin up. Try going 5 miles from where you currently are and see if its still happening.

Just in case it's not a cell tower or network problem . . . My SGS2, purchased in October, had the same symptoms as the OP. After trying everything the OP did, and more, I came to the conclusion that the firmware on the phone was corrupt. I used Odin to flash the factory stock ROM & Kernel images (2.3.5 at the time). There was a definite improvement in the faltering/hesitant/fail connectivity problem at that point, but it was still very subpar. So I then also flashed, again using Odin, the baseband ("modem") image - I did it twice for good measure. The problem was finally immediately solved at that point and I had very prompt loading of webpages, etc. Still working fine months later (and even better with a custom ROM). See the thread entitled "[Q]Is there a "true" factory restore for T-Mobile Galaxy S II?" for help about the seemingly same symptoms/problem you (and your brother) are experiencing. If your underlying problem is in fact the same as mine (and the poster of the thread I cited) then it's apparently either a bad factory flash or a post-factory corruption occurrence that is causing your problem . . . the coincidence of your brother also having the same problem aside. Good luck!

This started a while ago. Even using Handcent I can receive MMS but not send it out. It says that they have been sent but they never get received on the other end. It worked perfectly until I flashed to FC24, and I just installed CM9 thinking it would help but it didn't.
It's a SPH-D710 on Sprint network
I already tried deleting the telephony.db file clearing data/cache and rebooting. That didn't help. I found a BoostMobileMMSFix.zip but I'm assuming that won't work for me, even though they were describing the same problem. So I'm a at a loss. Any help would be awesome. I saw references to a ##DATA# method for this problem but couldn't actually find out how to implement it.

I can't imagine that I am the only person out there on the Sprint network that this has happened to. Hopefully someone will be able to shed some on the situation soon.
Question---- if I updated with the BoostMobileMMSFix.zip... would it do something horrible to my phone? Or would it simply not work? Is it worth trying?

Hi, a similar thing happened to me recently on my phone and it turned out that because it is a work phone they changed the settings for my phone to block outgoing mms. Is your phone a work phone? Have you tried restoring your nandroid backup (I assume you have one) of your original ROM and checking to see if it works on that? If it doesn't then its something on the carrier side of things :/

Well I don't think it's something on the carrier side of things, because it started happening IMMEDIATELY after I flashed out of my stock ROM. Unfortunately, I don't have a nandroid backup because when I started this endeavor I was such a NOOOB and I did it hastily.
Could this be an NVRAM issue? Would it be worth resetting that? If so, can you tell me how please?

Sounds like bad apn settings. Could have an incorrect apns-conf.xml file or your telephony.db file in data may be currupt. Try deleting that.

So I just went all the way back to EK02 and still could not send MMS. After a few Sprint auto-updates I'm in ICS again with FH13. Still no MMS. I tried to update the APN settings (while I was still in CM9 before I flashed to EK02), but I don't think I did it right. I updated the settings to what I found here (http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-sup...86-fixed-sprint-mms-problem-apn-settings.html) but that did not help. Every time I saved it I went from having Sprint listed in the APN settings to having nothing. In other words, it disappeared. Currently thinking I will just stay here till I figure it out. Maybe call my carrier (which is actually CREDO, but it's on the Sprint network)... could be something on their end, right?

Sounds to me like you are using sprints apn settings and not credo's...

Good call on that one. I assumed since they're on the same network they'd use the same settings. They don't. But I still have a problem. I am on CM9, so I can't use a third party app to restore APNs.
I found CREDO's settings here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1824916
However, the list of parameters in the xml there does not match the settings I can modify in the APNs manually in CM9 (accessing it through Voice Dial). Is there another way to restore APNs in CM9? Or can I some how flash backward to Gingerbread, restore, and then flash back without changing the APNs?
Please help, I feel like I'm getting so close to figuring this out!

hey doctor no luck on this issue yet? iam on the same boat looking to get my MMS to work on boost mobile and i had no luck. well i did if i went all the way back to EL29 and edite the DATA on the MMSURL to mm.myboostmobile.com and it work. but iam using this stock Fh13 its beeing a nightmare looking for a fix. iam able to recieved but not to send MMS it says he same thing as you. that they get sent but nobody gets it. any ideas yet bro?

cuz i had tryed this credo thing and the freaking apn app says that i cant delete or restore apns cuz its android 4.3 or what ever number is so iam still stocl on not sending mms on stock fh13 this so gay how they do this crap telling us what to do with are phones
Sorry if I missed you saying you tried this already. I had this issue a while back, the fix for me was to update the prl and profile via the system update settings.

thankss Bannjio for your reply. are u on boost mobile too? also are you using stock ICS FH13? cuz ill be honest i never tryed updating the profile or PRL to see if it fixed the problem. and now since i couldnt send MMS iam running the older gingerbread EL29 where my MMS works fine.. but if i can find a Fix for MMS to go back to FH13 ill be happy.cuz i do remember doing something like what you just told me but on my old EPc 4G . now since this a second generation of the Epic Touch i dont know if it is he same story. i just dont want to redo my phone again toFH13 and update the PRL or profile and endup with the same thing about no MMS again.. thanks
No problem, I can see not wanting to reflash only to have it not work. I am on sprint not boost mobile, and on a custom rom not stock fh13. However, the problem arose for me when I switched from an ics rom back to a gb rom. Mms didn't work on the gb rom until after I ran prl and profile update.
If you end up giving that a shot, be sure to let us know how it goes. Sorry I can't be of more direct help.

well guess what.first of all thanks for trying on helping me out.. but i was bored and diecided to reflash back the FH13 and did PRL and Profileupdated change the MMSURL to the boost mobile one and still no luck. iam able to recieve but not send. it says sent but nobody gets them... anyone else has a brilliant idea on how to fix this damn issue? to many people on boost mobile using this type of phone and nobody has an answer?
i am also having an MMS issue i am on ting and i think their apn is the same as sprint but i can't get mms to work to it says it sent but it is never received and i can't receive either.

I also. Have been having the same problem but i flashed Mijjz blend fi25 rom n it worked but i noticed that it took awhile for the pictures to get thru.. Keep in mind that i was in a horrible 3g area n i didn't have acces to a wifi connection.. If any tries it n it works or not please post... Ill be trying it again in a better 3g area

I'm having the same issue, I didn't check this morning before I left Lakeland, but I'm near Lee and OBT and have no data on my Evo LTE. I am at least glad to see its not my ROM either.

I spoke with Sprint and they said the network was down in Orlando and they are crediting my account for the down time.

Hearing stuff like this makes me wanna switch carriers.
Not sure if its just the carrier here. I've had this trouble on 2 different ROMs and the millisecond I wipe and re-flash I get data back. Some people have the same thing, others have not a clue in hell what were talking about.
Check your APN setting. Under setting- more setting- mobile network - APN.
What ROM are you on now?
If not call your carrier operator.

I don't have that option, task&ktoonsez aokp jellybean. Had problems on cm10 nightlies and this. This ROM is epic awesome but I can't not have data. I had stock ROM rooted on stock lf9 radio, never un-rooted and updated. Not a single problem for months. Put cm10 on and within the first week, no data. Re flashed, still none. Flashed all 4 radio versions, then lost phone service. Flashed aokp last Monday, good until I woke up this morning. Went to bed last night with 20mbps 4glte connection, phone never moved, woke up with no data. I can get 3g once every 2 hours or so at a bandwidth of .6kbps ( speed test certified).
Try calling your network operator. Or you can reflash stock firmware and see if problem persist.
But CM10 by default has a wrong APN setting (For me) and I just change according to the right one and it is perfect now.
But reflash stock.one and try.

Called net op, reset connection with., otherwise... no help. Also I know nothing about apn's, however there was an APN update in the last change log. When I say I know nothing about apn's, that's literal. I don't even know what the acronym stands for.

My friend is having a lot of issue with data in NJ with sprint. Maybe the they are testing LTE which is causing issues?
Data is back. titanium backup of user apps+data, backed up the built in launcher to SD, wiped, flash, gapps. Data working and phone is like I never left. Going to use all of the dev logging and track what I do day to day to see what the hold up is here.

TO ALL!!!! this is a call to action. I too, like many others are experiencing unacceptable data speeds while on 3G and in great reception while using the Galaxy S III. the speeds I should be receiving are 1.5-3 MB/s but instead I am receiving around 128Kb/s in the city and within excellent service. We all have to pay a 'Premium Data Add-On' charges just to own these phones and this is unacceptable. Please write an Email to [email protected], vice president of customer experience at sprint and let him know what you are experiencing. Maybe if enough pissed off customers write, they will finally listen!
Hi xda i've had a problem with my new galaxy nexus with sending and downloading any MMS message.
Basically I noticed the issue today as it was the first time a friend sent me a mss on my new device and I could not download it. I tried messing with the APN, Auto-Receive and turning WIFI off and I still could not get it to download or send MMS so I decided it must be a issue with the device.
My phone came with stock yakjuxw 4.0.4 but I flashbooted it to 4.1 without root and ive had no issues other than this MMS issue. It is not my sim as I tried sending and receiving MMS from my old Blackberry and it worked fine.
My device is a unlocked GSM device and I am based in Australia.
Can anybody give me some insight on what to do?
EDIT: I looked at CatLog while trying to download the msg and I got the following which it kept repeating if it means anything:
GC_CONCURRENT freed
WAIT_FOR_CONCURRENT_GC BLOCKED

99% of the time it's APN related.
Does your friend have an iPhone? I have horrible problems getting MMS from iPhones for some reason.

The first MMS I received yes was from a friend with an iphone but then tried sending one from a nokia and got the same issue.
It sounds stupid but could it have anything to do with me not having root?

I've experienced similar issues in the past, and had success with going into the APN settings, hitting the menu dots, and selecting the reset to default option. Send some of the settings or data got corrupt at some point (even though everything looked OK)

I have a similar problem on both of our nexuses (nexi). Mine is rooted and my wife's is 100% stock. MMS send fine most places, but anywhere that has a wifi network seems to keep the MMS from sending. The picture will just sit there with 'Sending' next to it for days before you realize it never sent. It wont even send once you leave the wifi area. If I send the message when i'm not near wifi, it sends fine. I realize this is of little help, but you're not alone anyhow.
This is my first visit since this problem and I figured out the problem was to do with my carrier. I called them and my MMS was set to use blackberry servers. They put me back on their network and its worked since
