I'm having the same issue, I didn't check this morning before I left Lakeland, but I'm near Lee and OBT and have no data on my Evo LTE. I am at least glad to see its not my ROM either.
:crying: im having the same issue. since i woke up about an hour ago ive noticed i have absolutely no data(west palm beach fl)... sprint has me on hold now
I spoke with Sprint and they said the network was down in Orlando and they are crediting my account for the down time.
Ok so it's not just me then but I'm calling to get my credit tho

I'm back online
Hearing stuff like this makes me wanna switch carriers.
Not sure if its just the carrier here. I've had this trouble on 2 different ROMs and the millisecond I wipe and re-flash I get data back. Some people have the same thing, others have not a clue in hell what were talking about.
Check your APN setting. Under setting- more setting- mobile network - APN.
What ROM are you on now?
If not call your carrier operator.

I don't have that option, task&ktoonsez aokp jellybean. Had problems on cm10 nightlies and this. This ROM is epic awesome but I can't not have data. I had stock ROM rooted on stock lf9 radio, never un-rooted and updated. Not a single problem for months. Put cm10 on and within the first week, no data. Re flashed, still none. Flashed all 4 radio versions, then lost phone service. Flashed aokp last Monday, good until I woke up this morning. Went to bed last night with 20mbps 4glte connection, phone never moved, woke up with no data. I can get 3g once every 2 hours or so at a bandwidth of .6kbps ( speed test certified).
Try calling your network operator. Or you can reflash stock firmware and see if problem persist.
But CM10 by default has a wrong APN setting (For me) and I just change according to the right one and it is perfect now.
But reflash stock.one and try.

Called net op, reset connection with., otherwise... no help. Also I know nothing about apn's, however there was an APN update in the last change log. When I say I know nothing about apn's, that's literal. I don't even know what the acronym stands for.

My friend is having a lot of issue with data in NJ with sprint. Maybe the they are testing LTE which is causing issues?
Data is back. titanium backup of user apps+data, backed up the built in launcher to SD, wiped, flash, gapps. Data working and phone is like I never left. Going to use all of the dev logging and track what I do day to day to see what the hold up is here.

TO ALL!!!! this is a call to action. I too, like many others are experiencing unacceptable data speeds while on 3G and in great reception while using the Galaxy S III. the speeds I should be receiving are 1.5-3 MB/s but instead I am receiving around 128Kb/s in the city and within excellent service. We all have to pay a 'Premium Data Add-On' charges just to own these phones and this is unacceptable. Please write an Email to [email protected], vice president of customer experience at sprint and let him know what you are experiencing. Maybe if enough pissed off customers write, they will finally listen!

OK, I have been dealing with this since I bought my GSII and cannot find any information about it.
Firstly I want to say that I am completely stock and unrooted.
My phone does not like to keep a stable data connection. About 50% of the time, when I try to do anything that requires a data connection (facebook, browser, gmail, etc.) the 2 arrows under the 2g/3g/4g icon will stick being grey and my phone just sits there "loading". I tried a factory reset, didn't install any apps, and also got a new sim card and the issue remains. It happens everywhere so it is not just a bad network connection.
I decided to post the question here because yesterday I was playing with my brother's GSII, and his did the same thing.. So it made me think that maybe it wasn't just me. Has anyone else experienced this? Or does anyone know what might be the cause?
Edit: I set my phone to use 2g only, and the problem vanished.. So it doesn't like to connect to 3g/4g.

Try going to your mobile network connection settings, choose access point names, hit your menu button and click "restore defaults".. It may fix it, I had data issues and it did the job. Hope it works for you!

Do what the gut above me said. Also call Tmobile and tell them, they will refresh your data connection on their end. That will clear up three problems your having.
But if it's also happening to your brothers phone, it's a network error. Call Tmobile.

I restored the apn settings and had Tmobile refresh my data connection, and it still happens. I noticed today that it's not just data, I'm also unable to call or text when it happens.. Tmobile just said everything tested normal so there is nothing they can do.. And I really don't think it's the phone so I don't want to exchange for a refurbished unless I have to.

Its happened to me before. For about a week, the data connection just dropped. It would come back for a bit and later vanish. I called t-mobile and they guided me through routine steps (i.e. taking the battery out, rebooting, resetting) but nothing seemed to work. They really couldn't figure it out and later told me to replace the SIM. I can't remember if they shipped me one or had to go to the store but either way that relieved the problem. This was on an HTC HD2.
That might not be the case with you though. At one point in time all the phones under my name lost data connectivity just as you explain. This really had no solution but to wait it out.

Network error
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App
Just in case it's not a cell tower or network problem . . . My SGS2, purchased in October, had the same symptoms as the OP. After trying everything the OP did, and more, I came to the conclusion that the firmware on the phone was corrupt. I used Odin to flash the factory stock ROM & Kernel images (2.3.5 at the time). There was a definite improvement in the faltering/hesitant/fail connectivity problem at that point, but it was still very subpar. So I then also flashed, again using Odin, the baseband ("modem") image - I did it twice for good measure. The problem was finally immediately solved at that point and I had very prompt loading of webpages, etc. Still working fine months later (and even better with a custom ROM). See the thread entitled "[Q]Is there a "true" factory restore for T-Mobile Galaxy S II?" for help about the seemingly same symptoms/problem you (and your brother) are experiencing. If your underlying problem is in fact the same as mine (and the poster of the thread I cited) then it's apparently either a bad factory flash or a post-factory corruption occurrence that is causing your problem . . . the coincidence of your brother also having the same problem aside. Good luck!

hello everyone,
I have my GSM galaxy nexus running aokp_maguro_milestone4 , 3.0.8franco kernel and xxkl1 radio baseband. I used to have no problems with my phone at all until I went on vacation to Spain (I live in Germany) in Spain I had signal but ever since I came back my phone has almost (in the time span of 48 hour it had maybe 1 hour of signal) constantly no signal from my mobile provider (BASE). I have tried reflashing the radio ( I had xxkl2 so I reflashed that and then flashed xxkl1), I have also tried turning phone off and on and leaving it 1 night without battery. any help??
thanks
Check your APN settings, if they are correct try to make a new APN profile from scratch.
checked apn and they were OK. made a new apn with values I found online and still no luck? should I maybe just restore everything to default and flash the stock from?

APN settings are only for data. They do not impact signal.
Go to Settings->More->Mobile network settings->Network operators and either select "Select automatically", or pick one from the list.

Hi guys,
So I am still having this problem, but an interesting thing happened. I decided to stick the sim card of my gf (she uses another carrier which supposedly uses the same infrastructure as my carrier) and I had full coverage. After that I changed the sim again and had coverage on my line, but after a couple of hours of bad coverage it just never found signal again.
So what on earth could possibly be wrong and what can I do to solve this problem?
I would consider a new ROM, but this doesnt seem to be the problem.

okay i had perfect 3g connection before i had youtube streaming fast and webpages loading really fast. Now my 3g is no bueno i have connection time outs and slow downloads speeds and buffering is all i get when trying to watch youtube over 3g. So what ive done so far
First i went straight back to stock and factory resetted everything on Gingerbread and did my OTA official updates than did update prl and profile in settings status update but my data connection over 3g is still slow so i did the next thing
##72786# SCRN reset
##3282# (checked all my settings) Device ip says 0.0.0.0 dont know if thats right the other info dont know if thats right either only able to VIEW and EDIT seperate fields one at a time
##MSL#(even put in a new MIEID number from sprint)
then onstart up hands free activation is running sucessfully it updates prl and check for firmware.I then open up sprint zone to chck voice and data both are green however there is a message of an very important profile update available please click here to have full coverage of your data so i click it and i get error cant update profile please try again later. So i keep trying and eventually it updates and says settings have been applied updating content. when i reopen the sprint zone voice and data turn green but the darn profile update for full data services is still there. So i power off pull battery and continue getting same results. The data profile isnt sticking even when it says its been updated. My 3g internet is still slow. Ive also done factory resets from the recovery menu.Sprint even re-pushed my connection off on then pulled battery to see if signal issues were an issue.
so then i do ##rtn# but still the same results. I have tried different modems as well to see if that was the case but no cigar.
Im currently on FH13 ICS 4.0.4 Official stock sprint. the sprint tec support suggest me to go into a store for further troubleshooting cause thats all they can do however i think theres more i can do here just need a little help. I know theres a bunch of more menues i can enter the codes are from this website below. I hope someone can help me with specific correct configurations in the data profile section because this phone doesnt give you the option to reset to default in your data menu just edit and view. Thank you in advanced

Thier wasnt any outage on my network or construction over here either
Don't pay attention to it's a bug in Sprint Zone it always will say there's an update. Update PRL and Profile in Settings and you're good. About speed maybe a network problem in your area it happens to me yesterday PRL Update failing and eventually updated after a few hours also speeds went back I called Sprint and indeed it was a tower problem in my area.
They will tell you there's not outage if no one is reporting. It happens a lot here in PR and when I pass by the tower in Hatillo there are workers on the tower. Lol they know nothing about their own towers.

Being that it's Sprint, more than likely it's just their horrible service. If you call them they will probably just give you an excuse like a tower down or something. I have constant issues with their data speeds and signal and this what they always tell me.. .

10 packets transmitted, 0 received, +1 errors, 100% packet loss, time 9007ms
this cant be right though because im using 3g right now to write this post shouldn't i be unable to reach through with these results?
i ran a busybox ifconfig and got the results i should have no packets lossed maybe i entered the ip wrong or its one of those loop traces idk it said ip so thats what i used in landroid regardless still got good 3g any tec want to fill the slots for me please thanks.

I don't believe this has been posted for the e4gt but came across this error after flashing AOCP ROM and it stuck on everything I flashed afterwards. Roaming would not work, at all. I spent 3 days without signal at work for 10 hours a day.
I tried clean installs of roms I knew worked, I tried to Odin back to stock, I tried to nand back, nothing seemed to work, until the guys over in the SGS3 forums found the answer.
Go to settings, and toggle roaming on and off. Not roaming guard, but roaming itself.
So simple it was laughable, but it works.
Again, I didn't see this posted anywhere in our forums, but if it has been please don't flame, I only wanted to share the fix. I don't remember who it was that found it but they definitely deserve huge thanks!:thumbup:
Edit- I am in no way bad mouthing or otherwise ripping on AOCP, I think it is a stellar rom and would be running it as a dd if not for this bug. Just wanted to make that clear!
Unfortunately this isn't limited to AOKP, found this out the hard way on an int'l trip last month. Also replied to this on Sprint Communities earlier today.
What Prl do you have? Mine is 60690 and roaming works fine. I also use roam control to force roam in some areas where I know signal is bad.

Roaming does work fine - if you have the boxes checked. If not it won't even turn on - as I learned the hard way. (Had to wonder why it worked fine for the missus and not me until I realized I uncheck the boxes out of habit.)
Sorry, I guess there was a miscommunication, or rather an omission on my part. The issue I ran into originated after flashing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942162 this ROM. The options to roam are there, but do not work, it always goes back to home only network. Then after wiping data, and both caches and flashing to other roms the issue persisted. My phone refused to roam. The fix in the op corrected the problem.
Sorry about any confusion

I have downloaded and done a clean install of the latest ROM from Team-Venom "Wicked Sensations v2.0" First of all the ROM is so in depth, and runs smoother than any other ROM I have used in the last year. There is only one issue. The only way I can use mobile data is if I switch the mobile network to CDMA, 4G LTE does allow me to send and receive phone calls but no text messages, or any data whatsoever. . I have read all of Team Venom's thread, well most of it anyways, and I cannot find anyone else having this issue. I am aware of the rules of the forums, so I am posting this under the Q/A as not to bog down or step on anyone's toes, in the developers thread.
Is there a fix for the 4G data issue, or is it just my phone? I have tried everything I can think of such as..
Flash stock Kernal
Flashed the latest radios
flashed the latest PRL's (not sure what that would do but I did it anyways)
tried toggling airplane mode on and off.
Since nobody else is having this issue, I am not sure what else to try. also, when I am using LTE, I DO NOT have the 4G icon next to my signal bars, like I do when I am on 3G.
Before you ask, yes, I do in fact live in an area that does have 4G, I am in Kansas City Kansas.
Anyone with an idea or know how I would be grateful.

Thanks for the replies all. I have done the suggested troubleshooting as follows
1: did a fresh install of the ROM (after wiping EVERYTHING first)
2. went through setup of the device (just to verify 4G was still not working, which it was not)
3. went to dialer and input ##486#
4. chose the reset option
5. entered my MSL # and then the phone did a factory reset.
When the phone came back up I had to go through the setup again, and had to turn on wifi to get through it because the data was still not working.
Also if anyone comes accross this and wants to know how to get the MSL # download a terminal emulator from the market and input "getprop ril.MSL"
Or check out this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28182339
Also while investigating the MSL further I found this possible solution-
"The phone needs to be re-provisioned as follows ##72786# or ##SCRTN# the phone may restart twice, after the restarts, launch a browser and type in your phone number on the prompt."
After following this, when I opened the browser I was not prompted to input anything I was only greeted with a connection error. :crying:
I am still searching for more answers. I am exploring ##DATA# but there is more in here than I am familiar with so I will hold of on this until I know what I am doing.
In the mean time 3G works so I am still able to use my phone just wish I could tether my 4G to my laptop.
Any other ideas are more than welcome.

Tha'ts weird, I just checked mine and it says global network. I switched it toe CDMA LTE and it works. Even sent a test text message to the wife phone and have no issues.. O here might be the issue. If you go to ##3282# under view then advance, see if LTE is enabled or disabled.. If it is enabled then I bet that is why you do not get 4G service.. I believe LTE does not have 4G service just 3G.. I have done this and my 4G went to 3G after enableing it.. If you have it disabled you will get 4G service..
