OK, so I've up and decided to go ahead and purchase a Nexus 4 from Google Play, I mean at $300 unlocked who wouldn't. I also happen to be off contract now with Big Red and nows the time to be getting while the getting's good.
If anyone would like to purchase a red Dinc2 simply PM me an offer. It only has slight wear and the only problem it has is the volume up doesn't work. Everything else is great, I'll even wipe and include the 8GB card in it.
I'll will still remain an avid member of the Dinc2 community because of the members and Dev's.
One other note, i won't be able to give up my Dinc2 until I get my Nexus 4, which will take 2-3 weeks it seems.

Good for you. The Nexus 4 seems like a fantastic device.

You probably won't have to wait that long. Ordered my Nexus 4 from Play on Feb 6, received it on Feb 13.
Also I'll give you $70 plus shipping for that incredible 2.
Is a nexus anywhere in Verizon's future? Itching to upgrade but I don't like anything out now. Also don't want to lose unlimited data. Hahaha. Translation ... I'm screwed.

Google wants nothing to do with cdma networks anymore
I just picked up a Note 2 on Verizon and am blown away! Phones got a whole lot better since I got my Dinc 2.
Now if I can only fend off my rooting obsession...
I got rid of my DINC2 and went with a Windows 8 phone. While I miss my Sirius XM app and the ability to tether for free, I'm quite pleased with the Nokia 822 on VZ. The lack of some apps is really the only negative I've seen so far. The phone is really snappy and clean. I'm happy with my switch, but will miss messing around with Roms and adb etc...

It has some ESPN, My Verizon, and Univision apps pre-installed along with some very good Nokia apps like Nokia music and Nokia Navigation. The good thing is that the bloat is able to be uninstalled right out of the box, no rooting required. Some core apps are uninstallable but that is expected... Overall, I'm very pleased with my Windows Phone 8.

Ok guys, here's my "delimma". I have an upgrade available to me. I've been wanting a gs2 since it came out in Europe. I had every intention of getting this within the first week it came out on tmo. BUT, reading about all the issues with lines on the screen, resolution, etc, I'm skeptical. It's basically going to be this phone or I'll cancel my line (I'm on a family line). I havent had a chance to play with one in person yet. So, in the meantime, I'm trying to gather opinions on the phone.
With all that being said, if you had a chance to relive Wednesday or whatever day you bought the gs2, would you buy it again?

I would for sure. I think it's the best phone on T-Mobile and T-Mobile is the cheapest out of the major wireless providers for me.
I am eligible for an upgrade to my iPhone 3GS from AT&T. Picked up a Galaxy S II and ported my number over to TMO. Almost everything about this phone is better than my old iPhone. Couldn't be happier. Oh, and I'm paying less for my plan, too!
Yep, I can relate to some. I tried the epic 4g touch version on sprint. If I could swap the internals with that it would be more awesome. As it stands though, once root is here and I can tether I'll be stoked. As of right now I'm happy with it. It feels solid and has a professional look and feel to it.

Five months is also a lot of time for the development of ROMs. I'd check what phones are out in five months and also look at the dev community to see how active it is for each phone you are interested in.
I have an unnatural attraction for the Xperias right now. I might get the T on Att when my plan is up. Not really liking the LG Nexus if that is really what it going to be.
Everyone has been sh!tting on the LG nexus bc its an LG. Why? If you root it and throw on cm or something who cares if the stock ROM sucks? Its still impressive hardware to me anyway
I just wish it had a amoled screen
I would be all over the LG Optimus G or whatever it is called if it had a decent friggin camera. I can't believe how crappy the photos are on the 13MP camera are.

Amazon free apps have been crappy. I still take a minute out of the day to check it just in case. Every once in a while, something good comes around. Audubon birds was a big score for me a few months ago.
I do wish you could "purchase" without having to download, even though install is optional, still uses space.

- fewer GUI lags due to a different OS concept
- iPhones get their updates right after it was released and not just one but all device models. Furthermore the updates are delivered for a longer time. Even the 3GS got an update to the latest OS version. Now compare that to thenumber of updates for the Desire Z...

well there's more stuff that makes me prefer the iPhone. The active sync support for example. From my experience it is the only mobil OS that truly does Exchange ActiveSync (havent checked WP8 yet). It can sync all of my calendars as they are.
Android makes one big chunky calendar of all of my calendars.. iOS syncs my tasks, stock android doesnt.. only current HTC roms do but they are really laggy.. so I guess it comes out that from a user experience I'm disappointed with android.
what I love about my device is its keyboard and the fact that it basically is a linux which offers me some nice abilities as a software dev.
So I'm crossing off the Nexus 4 from my list due to it only having up to 16gb of internal, no SD Card expandability and no LTE either
Any more opinons?

I am looking for a new phone also, but I really don't want to pay the high price, or extend my contract to get a SGSIII. That being said, the Nexus4, which i think would fit my needs perfectly isn't freaking available. Called Google tonight to see if there was any hope for anything soon, and the guy was like "ehhhh I got nothing, keep checking the website."
So I'm running out of patience with my g2, and also Google for that matter. Whoever planned this sale/manufacture/distribution for Google needs to get the axe.

Has LTE but only activated for tmobile or band 4 LTE so select locations.
Unless you dont have unlimited data or in a poor coverage area, 16GB should be fine for most people. Using google music and other cloud services allows you to not use phone storage for music/pictures so more space for other stuff.
I'm personally choosing the Nexus 4 or by the time i can get it, Samsung GS4 which should be released in april/mayish in the States.
I live in the northern end of SoCal, and my signal SUCKS wit T-Mo. I did see an improvement a little after the AT&T deal fell through, but ultimately I am entirely dis-satisfied with overall reception
Of course, that may be attributed to my G2, esp because I recently dropped it in water for the first time, recently
:banghead:
So cloud services are not a viable option for me at this time. And I currently use a 16gb sd card, and had to erase a bunch of music to make room. So a 16gb phone won't cut it for moi

Mission upgrade completed.
After 2 years desire z going for sale.
I really enjoyed physical keyboard and I'm already missing it.
New phone Nexus 4 16GB
I never really bought the newest generations of smartphones, mainly because of monetary reasons, but I like to think I have always made a good choice.
I'm thinking about upgrading the Desire Z to a Sensation XE (I really like the looks, and the specifications are decent to me) or a One S (a bit better than what the XE offers). I really like Sense, so I will definitely upgrade to a HTC.
I went to the note 2 and I am absolutely unbelievably happy with my decision.
I had the g1 the day it came out (actually a little before since I was a pre order) same for my g2. Was thinking about going to the relay 4g but then I found it the note 2 was coming and decided to wait and check it out.
So glad I did! Didn't think I could go without a physical keyboard but then I thought maybe since the phone was bigger it would be easier. If I ever get frustrated I just whip out the s pen and use that. Comes in handy when wearing gloves too.
This thing is so fast but best of all, it has INCREDIBLE battery life! I never have to charge during the day like I used to. I still bring my charger with me out of habit but I've never even used it in the car. It's after 2 a.m. I've been going all day and I'm still at 44%. I change overnight just by habit too. Could go a day and a half with this thing. It is wonderful not having to worry about conserving battery. Just use it for whatever whenever.
Can you tell I love it? No regrets. Anyway. ..That's my upgrade story!

Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
Bigger screen, I like the back button design, hardware that will keep up with other phones for quite a while.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
Given LG's history of releasing a new flagship device every 6 months and quickly forgetting about their previous flagship phones when it comes to software updates, Nexus 5. (It'll feel newer longer.)
The Nexus 5 is GSM and CDMA compatible; higher resale value down the line.
While the Nexus 5 has a smaller battery, the built-in wireless charging capability (also featured on the Verizon LG G2) means occasional top-ups throughout the day are easy and convenient. While the wireless charging pads don't come with the Nexus 5, the price difference between it and the G2 mean you can afford at least two (one for work and one for home).
If you're considering a mobile provider that gives you a discount for not subsidizing a phone, the Nexus 5's retail price of $349/399 (16/32GB) versus the LG G2's ~$600 can save you a lot of money over the course of your carrier's contract.
TL;DR: Unless you need the 3000mAh battery, 5.2" screen, IR blaster, or moar megapixels... I'd advise the Nexus 5.

You'd be getting a sprint variant presumably right? The LS980 dev forums could use a little pick me up, roms are being built for multiple variants in one, and while thats cool and all, it would be nice to see LS980 specific roms/kernels. Since the N5 community is over saturated to be honest, another dev wouldn't matter much on the N5 seeing as everything over there has been built or is in the process. On the G2 however a new dev would be more appreciated seeing as there only a handful comparatively speaking of devs working on the sprint variant, hope this gives you some help on your decision!

I love being able to contribute by building ROMs, but I have been super busy with life and work. I am happy with my decision to get the optimus g, but with 4.4 ROMs and most ROMs in general being glitchy it really makes me want the nexus so I can be constantly updated without many issues. I agree that the nexus won't need anymore devs, but maybe that's not a bad thing for me. I already feel bad when I don't have enough time to get something out to you guys.

I personally may be going with the Nexus 5. Until then, you'll be missed on this forum. (I'm assuming you'll stop deving for us if you get a new phone to focus on)

Even if you don't have the time to bring something to the table now, It's still pleasing to know that at some point you'll have time, should you join us over on the LS980 that is. Tempting. Sprint is being stupid as usual about working with me to stay a customer. I might be switching to t mobile. I heard that their data speeds are good but voice service sucks. Can anyone comment on that? I have been having terrible service with sprint lately and no 4g where I live so t mobile might be a huge upgrade.

I'd think it fitting to do exactly and only what is right for you, and no one else.
As to voice + data services, these vary by region of the country. It took 2 years where I live for Sprint to go from selling 4G LTE phones and charging for them monthly to actually delivering on it. Now, I couldn't be happier with the data and voice quality (though voice has never been an issue where I reside).
T-Mobile may be great where you live, and based on what you've stated about wanting time for you and wanting a trouble-free update experience, go with the Nexus 5 and be done with it.
I wish you luck.

I appreciate all the opinions and thoughts. I ended up going with the nexus 5 on t mobile. I did the jump program so maybe in 6 months if I have the urge to contribute more I will try something different.
