Stock ROM?

Anyone have the stock rom for Rogers or ATT or any zipped rom for I317

Is the tar file not up on Sammy mobile?

Just checked SamMobile. They don't have SGH-I317M firmware.

PLEASE someone post a link to STOCK ROM, or MODEM, or KERNEL
I will highly appreciate it!

You'll have to get someone who is rooted to post a dump. Until the push an OTA update we likely won't have a firmware available. I know it is being monitored on Rogers. If you have different APNs or want a different company stock you will need to send them your info.
Watch on samsung-updates.com as well. Email them your info if you are on a different network. They respond very quickly.

Ya I screwed my phone up.. I can still get into download mode though good thing.. Hope they come out with it soon I'm using my s3 until it's out

Glad to know I'm not the only one... installed Chainfire3D and totally got stuck on logo... and like a bauss i didn't back up in CWM

EDIT: Nevermind just found it. Do I just flash this zip with CWM?
EDIT2: Tried flashing with Odin but kept getting error. I guess I'll wait till there is a custom ROM flashable with CWM that uses the ATT version till I can get my radio working again.

if its the firmware from sammobile you'll need to extract the tar file from it. Then put it in the PDA slot in Odin and flash the tar.
Edit: make sure repartition is NOT checked in Odin :thumbup: bad things will happen if it is

For stock Rom,
We need 2 phones with unmodified stock rom.
I have Rogers Note 2 all stock still and if we can get one more person same, we can get stock Rom zip to be flashed through odin.

4.3 downgrade

well. they said it could not be done. but i did it. i downgraded from 4.3 to 4.1.2. and so far everything is working. i used mobile odin pro. loaded the stock 4.1.2 rom but loaded the modem from 4.3. i have a working phone, sound and network.lets see how long it will work for.
and just let me add virgin s3 sgh-i747m

As far as I am aware it was never said this was not possible with mobile ODIN. Desktop ODIN is the issue because it attempts to downgrade the bootloader which is what bricks the phone. You can bypass the bootloader with mobile ODIN so therefore no bricking.

this is correct.

well maybe someone should post a thread about it. like i did. not something that is 377 pages long and a noob like me wont understand. keep it simple. basic directions and links to downloads. its good that you showed a link to how to use mobile oden. but some people don't understand half this stuff. i'm still learning the basics but could not take 4.3 any longer so i took a chance. bricked my phone 20 times trying different stuff and posted what i finally got to work so others can find it easier.

So i can flash 4.1.2 but without downgrading my bootloaders right? Where can i found a 4.1.2 stock rom without bootloader? Or better yet how about 4.1.1? Is it possible to flash this versions without changing my MJB bootloader?? Good thread by the way

i found some of my files here...

and the rest i downloaded from sammobile
the way i did it is i loaded the old stock file 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 in mobile odin but i loaded the modem file from the 4.3 that i got from link above. it will not change your bootloader but will give you a mix of 4.1.1 and 4.3. make sure you also select to root devise well updating. and use mobile oden pro. it's well worth the $5.00. it took me all of 2 min. fyi you have to load both roms to your sd card on the phone. and back up your phone first. it wiped mine when i did it.

i don't guarantee anything. but this was the only thing that didn't brick my phone.

just make sure your phone is rooted first. i downloaded the root66 4.3 on my phone with odin then copied it as well as the stock 4.1.2 to my sd card.

Im allready on 4.3 so i just flash 4.1.1 right? Hey question..do u know if 4.1.1 will work with new bootloader? I heard it breaks the camera but not sure

im not sure about 4.1.1. i am using 4.1.2 and both my cameras work

Have you tried to sim-unlock after downgrade? I also have one S3 with 4.3 and I really want to downgrade to unlock, but not sure if unlock would work without downgrading the bootloader

click on the "modem" you have to change it to the 4.3 file. it should be the MK5

ya you need both files. then when you select the "modem" button it will let you change just that file.

[Q] How to upgrade(noob question)

I have a rooted Galaxy S3 SGH-T999. Currently I'm running Android 4.1.1 Jellybean. I would like to upgrade to 4.3. I just need to know what steps to follow to do so. I tried to download Odin and for some reason I have not been able to locate a good copy. I do have Kies Air but I'm unfamiliar with which way I need to go. Please point me in the right direction so that I can upgrade my device.

Odin won't work with kies installed. Uninstall kies then follow one of the Odin guides to update.

If you wish to backup user data then use Titanium Backup Root or My Backup Root app from Play Store.
Do Note, if you follow the Odin update correctly, the user data will be undisturbed.

No 4.3 ROM will work properly with that baseband.. You need to update it

If I recall right, I had Liquidsmooth 4.3 on LJC bootloader. I most definitely had LJC Baseband / Modem/Radio up until Kitkat. In January changed my modem to UVUEMJC

That is good to know. I'm sorry about my noob questions. So do I use Odin & download any 4.3 ROM and then flash the modem? I'm not sure how to proceed now.

Well, finally we have got KitKat and so I may ask, why you want to go back?
If you want to run 4.3 custom roms, no need to downgrade, go ahead and flash.

I have 2 problems
1- samsung keyboard : I can't switch between the 2 selected languages.
2- some applications get crashed.

flash ofw with odin then flash cwm and restore backup. it worked for me

People are saying you can't flash back to 4.3 from 4.4.2, which is partially true.
Even when you flash the 4.3 firmware, you will still have 4.4.2 bootloader.
However, if you are not really fussed about the mini details, just flash it like you would normally with Odin,
then when there are problems with wifi, use custom kernels to fix it.
Otherwise, flash 4.3 then use a nand backup to restore (if you have it).

Just using odin 1.85 to flash back to 4.3 stock rom. Remember to wipe data/cache before flash

Guys I need a copy of the 4.1.1 and 4.3 stock roms!! Ive tried plenty of links but none seem to work... any of you guys have a copy please? Im in a hurry... Thanks in advance

Just go to sammobile.com. You have to register, but it's free.

Once youve upgraded to 4.3 (by OTA or Odin or Kies) im not certain you can flash anything below that. So you'll need to find the MK7 Firmware (sammmobile) and use that.

No odin for pre-4.3 roms after the knox bootloader is installed. Odin will puke as it tries to install the older bootloader.

Does the phone boot? If it does then you can use Mobile Odin to flash a firmware.
If you have a custom recovery then you can flash a Rom.

Yes im using an att rom right now and my phone is running fine... I just want to go back to stock since im gonna be exchanging phones tomorrow

Mobile odin will work for but won't touch your bootloader. You can use the tar files from sammobile easily.
