this great forum friends please ask them to help me with samsung kies, this damn program does not synchronize my samsung i747 s3 having root.
I did everything for me to recognize it, how to install the drivers manually and still nothing.
What I want is to upgrade to 4.1.1 official jelly bean that just came out for s3 i747, but the upgrade is through the stupid kies.
I thank you for your great help.
Greetings ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

I couldn't sync with kies because I forgot to change the hidden USB settings back to MTB + ADB from when I was doing the root with ODIN. I changed it back to that and it worked

Well unfortunately im at work right now so I dont have my computer to walk you through the steps. I remember that you have to type *.config, in search, while you are in in the keys folder on your computer. Which will show the configuration files and then double-click on the file that says Kies without anything else in the name. In there you will find a line that looks like this: <somethingsomethinglol 4.0>
The problem is that the Kies program is trying to connect to the 2.0 version of that line AND the 4.0 version so when you copy/save that line and delete it then kies can connect.
Hi.
I'm reading this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189539
which is very useful, trying to flash a stock ROM using Odin. My GT-N7100 is bricked, possibly with SDS. I'm on Mac OSX 10.8.4 and as far as i have read i need to download Odin 3.0.7 to my Mac (do they have a .dmg of this?). Samsung USB drivers to my Mac and the stock firmware from Sammobile.
The problem it is that everything is made for Windows. I'm seeing Samsung drivers in only Windows enviroment.
How can i flash using Odin on Mac OS X. Any links?
Thanks.
Another pal with SDS.
Hello there, Unfortunately I'm in the same boat as you. I'm on a Mac primarily but do have a windows desktop I can turn to when I come across windows only solutions as we have here. You can install a windows os using bootcamp or virtually through something like virtualbox on the Mac. For me though the windows route isn't getting anywhere. I don't think you have a full SDS situation where your phone is a complete brick like mine though. From your posts it sounds like you can at least get into download mode correct? If so you should be able to download the original 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 firmware for the Note II and flash via Odin. I wish I could at least try this step but as it is my phone is completely dead and won't boot at all. I'm trying to figure out how to submit a support request in the US right now which is proving very unsuccessful so far since we have the Galaxy Note International version (GT-N7100) which Samsung USA does not support in any way. I'm taking my phone to a local cell phone/tablet repair shop tomorrow to see if they can get anything accomplished. Good luck in your quest!
I have done more reading and have downloaded Heimdal 1.4- as well some random country GT-N7100 stock sammobile build .tar file (June- 4.1.2)
Please i need some incredibly generous person that might have an idea how i can flash a custom rom using Hemdal 1.4. My phone doesn't boot. I only have access to the "download mode". (No- recovery mode). I'm almost sure i have SDS (Sudden Death Syndrome) and i'm using OSX and my only choice is to try to flash the Note II with Heimdral.
Check if this helps

kinda late reply but you could use mobile odin to unroot.
Did anybody tested Heimdall ?
You can find it in mac softpedia, and it's an Odin equivalent..

I confirm that working, heimdall 1.4, gt-i9505 and 10.8.4, flashed cache and recovery successfully... first ofcourse downloaded .pit. Two times gave some errors, third time success.

Something went really ****ed when I tried to flash CM 10 on to my GS4 using Heimdall front end (1.4). Took it back to the store and they said they had never seen one fully "bricked like that"...
What steps did you follow if you dont mind? Explain like I'm 5 - they won't replace another phone for me haha

You don't use heimdall to flash cyanogenmod. You use it to flash the recovery, then you root from the recovery and then you flash cyanogenmod from the recovery.

For anyone still wondering about this. Get VMWare Fusion pro, install windows(I have windows 7 basic), then install odin(any version, i tested all of them), then flash that way.
And my specs are Macbook pro late 2011 2.4ghz quadcore running mavericks. Ive had no problems flashing whatsoever. Windows loads very quickly too

No hiccups, i just installed everything recommended. No special anything. And run odin as administrator. I probably flashed over 70 times already with 0 hiccups.

Http://jodin3.casual-dev.com is Odin for Mac. Because of limitations to Heimdall, I don't recommend flashing large files though. Its awesome for CF-Auto-Root and TWRP though.

Questions belong in the question section. Also make sure you have the right files downloaded.
Download and install the Samsung Drivers Here http://www.rwilco12.com/downloads.php?dir=Files/Misc%20Files/Samsung%20Files.

You also might want to ask the question in the ATT forums. This is Sprint.

I recently formatted my computer to change it from Windows 8 back to 7 and now when I install Kies or Samsung drivers, they both pick my phone up as a Galaxy Nexus. I have tried redownloading and reinstalling the drivers but it still turns out the same. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Mine ALWAYS displays SGH-I317
Sent from my Note 2 running MEAN MUTHA F'N BEAN????
roll back driver
you got one of few issues.
1. Your not the installed admin user on your computer. (each manufacture puts a Hidden Admin account on each computer) its a Dell or Hp etc thing not a Microsoft issue.
To become hidden admin (do this step last if no others work)
2. You need to roll back your drivers and install the ones from the Phone NOT the ones from Windows. So to roll back to starting position or delete them go to this Guide here for Rollback
Next you need to Keep windows from grabbing the Samsung drivers from Windows which can be the issue
Go here for help if you don't know how to do this
3. You need to uninstall and the drivers for the phone, and download the new drivers from Samsung and/or delete the drivers and ALLOW the phone to install them only
To do this go HERE
This above link is to delete the old USB drivers. IT WILL DELETE MOST OF THEM, dont worry the devices will auto load when you put them back into the computer.
IF 2 or 3 DONT work then do step one. Between each step do a rest, and keep all devices of USB unplugged.
Good luck

I was just thinking back to my Captivate days where a lot of roms were ports from the Nexus S and it would often display that when plugged into computers and my brothers S2 would often display as a G Nexus when plugged into a lot of computers
I saw several times that my phone is getting Android 4.4.4 in some places, and to get it, I have to install Samsung Kies and you know, Firmware Upgrade, etc...
The only problem I have is that my computer doesn't recognise my phone, only says that it is an error with the MTP driver, and this doesn't let me to install the Firmware Upgrade.
HELP!
Phone: Note 3 Neo LTE (SM-7505)
PC: I think the specs doesn't matter, maybe the version of Windows does.
Actually running Windows 7 Home Premium - 64 Bits

Note 3 Neo didn't get 4.4.4 yet...
Also you can check for update from your mobile settings...
If your computer doesn't recognize your phone: make sure you use the original cable and try to plug the usb cable in The back of the case straight without additional cable.
And make sure you have latest ver of kies.
Really?
It didn't?
Look at this picture.
It's in Spanish but i'll transate it
Firmware upgrade 4.4.4 for Galaxy S4 (both versions Snapdragon and Exynos) and Galaxy Note 3 neo is on the final phase of developing and it's estimated to be released on November
This is a post of 2014, so I don't really think that our FU will take to much to get to our phones.
