So once we get the LTE update are we going to need an LTE sim? I remember with AT&T I had to get a new sim for 3G

Most likely yes, international tutorials (taking the verizon lte to an international LTE carrier requires a special LTE sim...ie you cant take a korean sim and plop it into an unlocked verizon lte GNII and get LTE as you need an LTE sim for it to work)

I realize it won't do LTE here, but will AT&T 3G work on it OK?
Yes. It works on AT&T 3G network

Hi guys, the I have a N7105 LTE with baseband ver.N7105ZHALI5. Problem is this is a international phone and it doesn't support the lte bands in Canada. I'm with bell which has 1700/2100 LTE bands. What should I do to enable these bands?
Thanks!
Try different modems.

Not sure if this helps you but as far as I know, you can access LTE on the Rogers network. I don't think you can actually use the N7105 on the Bell for LTE.
Would 7100 modems work?
Thanks
Nope.

Can I unlock and use this phone on GSM network in europe or it just for CDMA networks?? If you can use it on at&t and t-mobile then it is good for europe networks..
Thanks
Cdma only... This phone doesn't have a quad band transmitter/receiver otherwise known as a world phone(like the photon)

I'm getting LTE using TMO on AT&T no problems. And I didn't perform any lte hacks. Or AWS mod. Mine just quirks...
Pending I did do the unlock so it could quirk on AT&T network...

I purchased my phone unlocked. Presumably, with the method described in another thread. I performed the AWS Mod to get LTE on my SGH-I317 with T-Mobile.

You only need the aws mod to enable HSDPA+ on the 1700mhz band. LTE works out of the box.

Aren't they downsizing the AWS 3G? I didn't even bother doing the mod when I used an ATT Note 2 on T-Mo.

You are correct they are upgrading 1900mhz for their HSDPA+. In some areas that has not been completed yet though. If you do any traveling the mod would be helpful.

I just noticed that they no longer sell just LTE branded verizon version anymore? they just have LTE(GSM) ATT and Tmobile.
did google and Asus just **** us over who bought the LTE version?
and I just spoke with Google support and they said I need to go sign my verizon LTE up with ATT or TMobile... WTF???
The nexus is not branded, or specific to any carrier as far as the internals go. I bought the T-Mobile version and stuck my Verizon Sim right in
