[GAME] Vector - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

I found this cool parkour type addictive game, I enjoy it really much, but... is it just my phone or it lags? I'm running the latest version of 'Custom stock rom'. Can somebody try it?

Cool game. Runs fine on my S2. I'm on jofury mini note 2 Rom.

I have the mini note 2 rom too, but sometimes it slows down, really slows down a lot. Like it's lagging, like the time is slow.

yeh i have "lags" as well in certain parts, but i believe its a feature , slowmotion

i had the same thing "Lag" sometimes, and its not a feature,
(You can actually buy this gadget that slows down time)
I played this on my S2 and experienced lags, on my Nexus 7, it runs fast and good...

Same here
Its the same on my S2 I think its the game no lags its in the part of the game its has to slow down but its stupid it makes the game to look like it lags

It's so annoying, you can't enjoy the game to the max with the 'lags' in it.

I've recently started playing this game and been annoyed by how it lags. I'm on a level where there's my guy, a friend and the bad guy and it lags ALL the time. Has anyone found a workaround for this?

Awesome Game
I really like the concept, as for lags it get gets harder on new levels

With the new update just change graphic sitting for less lag.

I have Neat Rom 4.3 (Jelly Bean) and i have lags also... the game graphics aren't anything so special that justifies this.... i believe that the game wasn't well programmed...

Are you having similar problems with other games? If no, then you're probably right. :cyclops:
If the lag is present for other games, it is possible that it's ROM or kernel related (governor, mali driver and etc).

Nop, Only this game. I have other game that doesn't feel so smooth, but it's justified, because it has heavy graphics: Real Racing 3. And even that game i can play it well.
Besides that, i can run all other games with no problem at all in my GS2. I can play NFS Most Wanted without problems, for example.

Is it just me, or do games run badly on ICS?

I've owned Android devices prior the Nexus, and one thing that's always bothered me is that my Android could never run games as smoothly as the iPhone, while it has more power under the hood. I download Fruit Ninja and Scrambled on my Nexus and it seems to lag and stutters... are all games like this on the Nexus?
I would think it's because the game is not optimized for ICS yet. So you will get some lag and stuttering with those games.
What rom/kernel combo you running? On aokp & franco kernel, I play jelly defense, battle heart, scramble with friends, draw something, sprinkle, etc & have no lag...

Temple Run is lagging when you play it for a while, same with many other 3D games....
AOKP + franco r135 512mhz GPU and I have no lag in games. Little Empire, Dead Space, Modern Combat 3, Legendary Heroes, Zenonia 4. I run those and more all lag free and atleast 50-60 fps at all times.

384 is the stock clock =/= 2x gpu clock. Even then it only makes a 5-6 fps differnece in most circumstances. Could have better results in different apps but nenamark i saw a 5-6 fps difference.
Temple Run is stuttering in Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4 stock
I really think it's just software optimizaitons that need to be done imo. I'm sure with time it'll get better. Cause I'm running Temple Run perfectly no lag/stutters.
I personally wouldn't play Fruit ninja as they were in news in hot water over passing on our details.
As for games on Galaxy Nexus, they run slower than SGS2 and I think that's simply the limitations of the graphics chip which is as old as the hills.
I use a GSM Galaxy Nexus, stock, no overclock, no frills, just rooted to use Titanium Backup, never had any lags in Fruit Ninja, runs fine... Temple Run, ocasionally will stutter, but it is rare and most of the time I just play 20, 30 times and no stutter at all... GTA III also plays fine.
Obviously it is not the best performer, and, as you probably now, there is the same iPhone 4 GPU under the hood of our devices, only that it got extra memory bandwidth and extra clock to perform better (and also a HD screen that will eat-up some of this extra performance)... But I believe, at least as far as my own experience goes, that it is a decent performer, altough there are better alternatives as far as gaming goes (and I would believe that probably HTC One X would be the best Android gaming phone alternative as far as graphic performance is concerned right now).

It doesn´t lag, bit it run like at 25fps or so, not as smooth as 60fps (I am refering when there are many coins in the screen and you are running too fast)
How are you quantifying that it runs at 25fps? Is there a fps counter somewhere?

nope, not for me. it runs even smoother than the version for the iphone .
maybe the gpu in the nexus is not the fastest one, maybe there are other phones that are much faster.... I DON'T CARE! i didn't bought my nexus to play games all day, i bought it to synchronize my calender, my notes, make calls and write sms and maybe some internet surfing.
you also all bought this phone, so why complain? it's like buying yourself a motorbike and then complaining about the fact that it only has 2 wheels.
Enabling Force GPU acceleration in the developer options under Settings might improve the performance of some games. Although it will might also make some games look weird.

Games are already GPU accelerated. You can't doubly accelerate them
i play gta iii, MC3, wind-up knight, shadow gun and fifa and no lag whatsoever
oh and drawsome too lol!

games lag

Hi I am kind of dissapointed with the gaming performance, almost all games have frame lag shadowgun runs really choppy from start to finish, also samurai 2 is fairly laggy at some parts, and some low end apps that have reflections lag really bad,.. does any else experience this ? I'm on 4.0.2, also my t.prime doesn't run as smooth as it should, I'll try it on my Xperia s and see how it does.. it may be the game or just Ics....

The GPU in the GNex isn't the best. It's an overclocked version of the one found in the GT-i9000 Galaxy S.
That still doesn't make it a bad phone.

+1. Shadowgun, Dead Space, Spectral Souls run perfect. Never had an issue you're describing.

No problems here. The gpu may be old but that doesn't make it bad.
Try 4.0.4
I've played Shadowgun and Dead Space just fine. All other casual games run great too.
MOST games runs smoother on my Tmobile Galaxy S2, compared to my Galaxy Nexus. What really bothers me is when something pops up on screen (like changing the volume) while gaming, it's really laggy. Some say it's ICS, some say it's the GPU, and some says because of the higher resolution of the Nexus.
Try playing a game like Mega Jump (free on play google), and while playing, adjust the volume. Why does it lag so much?
Cause toast notifications just aren't tweaked right. Maybe not run thru the gpu or something.
weird my epic didn't lag when swiping pages and the toast notification was on. And it has the same gpu. Same rom too cm9.

I have none of the issues you are reporting. In fact, it looks like a lot of other GN users also DON'T have that problem. I have played Dead Space, ShadowGun, BackStab, and others and they play without lag. I don't like lag and slowdown. I would not even bother playing them if there like this. ShadowGun for instance, I would not have played it as long as I have. Or got as far as I did if it was bad or lagged. Not sure why we all can play these games fine and you can't.

True this. It's still a good GPU that plays all games I've tried beautifully. Even GTA III plays buttery smooth.

Games for S3

What games are working properly on s3? other games are having graphic problems.
If you are into first person shooters, Dead Trigger by Madfinger games is pretty sick. Gears & Guts by Glu Mobile is working. I have a bunch other games but the 2 listed above have a big file size and are pretty graphically intense. Smooth gameplay w/o any problems. I am also running Blazer 1.7 w/ Apex Launcher.

Have you tried amazing spiderman or Samurai II: Vengeance, having a graphics issues please let me know what could be a problem. I am using stock rom and the phone is not rooted.
Dead Trigger is insanely sick. It has amazing lighting visuals and is only about 150MB of storage. Been playing it non-stop. I also am a big fan of Asphalt games, however, the new 1$ asphalt game runs HORRIBLE on the S3. I am also hearing it runs horrible on other top end devices. The game has a major framerate issue.

sounds good, but i'd like to know why a game wants access to my phone calls/history..
i normally don't bother with free games or apps as their either invested with ads or want access to private data.

hi boys
pleasse tell me
that now this phone can help me for run new games
There a so many new games out there that can be played in htc DZ/G2.
But that also depend upon what rom you use.
I would prefer gb roms to play games better than ics roms...

I didn't tried that much new high end graphic games lately, but I play candy crush while listening music with poweramp. And it run smooth for now.
I'm playing with plants vs zombies 2, a bit laggy in the ''street'' but in the game it runs great.
GTA 3 also run, but isn't that smooth, it's payable.
I mainly play casual pass the time games like Dots, Bejeweled and things of that nature, and they run perfectly smooth, with the once in a while quick little stutter, I can say that about all of the vast amount of roms I've run. Gingerbread roms are the smoothest when it comes to gameplay though

Which rom are you using for those games?
I'm using miui by strawmetal, is like miui on steroids. I think ilwt has the best gaming performance which is the same kernel used in miui strawmetal.
To achieve better gameplay use chainfire3d (there is a risk of soft bricking) and use seeder for lag reducing .
Plants vs zombies 2 has lag when a lot of zombies, but it is logical since the games requirements are 1 gb ram. I play subway surfers pretty good with minimal lag and temple run.
As others pointed use gb roms for gaming

Subway surfer has no lag at all. But I can feel the difference when I play it on my gf s4.
Actually, what is really bugging me, is the phone takes sooooo much time to switch app to an other.
I,e : if I,m browsing, and see something and I what to take a fast picture, it will took easy 30 seconds.
I'm sure that I never had this issue before I tried to reinstall. same problem.
With seeder is better but still takes times.
Pureperformance X gives me the best results, but it wont last long before the multitasking-lag come back. Looks like if android isn't able to kill app fast.
If you are searching phone for games, Desire Z is not a good option.

Is CM11 any good for gaming?

Hello there. I am a heavy Arcane Legends player which is a very demanding mmorpg game. Gaming on jb was a failure, it didn't lag only if the game was 2D, at least that was my experience with it. So i switched back to gb.
Gb is fine for the most part but Arcane Legends uses up a lot of memory so after playing a while it can get very laggy and that's when i have to restart the app. Also chainfire 3D helped me get better performance.
My question is: Is it worth upgrading from gb to cm11 for gaming performance? I don't care about ui changes or other functionalities, i want to know if its worth upgrading for gaming alone.
